“Bought some yoghurt starter. It produced a lovely yoghurt. They were very clear as to how long it would take to deliver, even though they were having issues due to covid-19 demand. It has continued to produce good yoghurt repeatedly over a few weeks.”

“Been using Freshly Fermented since lockdown started to get my Kefir and cannot fault the company. Throughout lockdown they have continued to provide a service under trying conditions. Product and delivery is taking longer but that is to be expected, so you order with this in mind. I would have no problem recommending this company”

“I received my order quickly. The instructions were easy to follow and I was able to make my first jar of creme fraiche without any problems, It was delicious and much nicer than the shop bought product. I had a slight problem with my first re-culture and contacted Freshly Fermented for advice. I was emailed back quickly and given some helpful tips. Since then I have been able to make a new batch on a weekly basis and I have just completed my 7th. As a bonus I can use the culture to make yogurt. Extremely pleased with my purchase.”

“I bought the freeze dried sourdough starter. I am a total novice to sourdough starter so wasn’t sure if I was feeding correctly etc. But just brought my first loaf out of the oven and for a 1st attempt very happy with result. Great crust and flavour. I would probably try the fresh starter next. Very pleased”

“I ordered 5g of milk Kefir grains from Freshly Fermented. They arrived a bit slower due to Covid of course, but they were kind enough to offer free postage. I followed the instructions, and had no problems with the grains, they work perfectly and have already tripled in number over just a few weeks. The online instructions are very easy to follow. Great service from Freshly Fermented. Definitely recommend this company. Thank you”

“The kefir water and ginger starter packs arrived fairly quickly despite all the problems created by Covid-19. It is necessary to download the instructions and they could be a little clearer. We were confused about what is meant by 'second fermentation'. Is it the same water that is fermented again or does it mean using the grains to make a second batch of drinks using new water? Nevertheless a good service given the complications of posting out 'live' products. We're regularly producing batches of fizzy drinks for nothing more than a spoonful of sugar to feed the crystals. No need for CO2 cartridges or soda makers.”
