“The assembly and operating instructions are excellent. I'm very happy with the power and performance of my sawmill. I have milled at least a dozen large logs and made cuts from 5/8" to 2". The only negative is the sawdust discharge plugs frequently. Overall an excellent sawmill.”
“I bought an os18 with extention last year and it sat in my garage till this year before I started to assemble. I watched a couple of YouTube videos but really didn't need to. The instructions and the way they label the bags and boxes made it super easy to put together. All you need is a few basic hand tools and some time. I have about 12 total hours of assembly time but I'm no ball of fire lol and I did it totally by myself. The machine is built very sturdy and I have no doubt it will provide many years of service. I also need to say how friendly and helpful the staff are especially Stephanie who answered my question and also sent out a part that hadn't received with my order of the extension. Once she found out I had one in my hands in 3 days. That's great service after the sale. If you are on the fence about getting one go ahead, you won't be sorry.”
“First let me say this. I am old and in poor health. I got the OS23 as a way to help me walk as I have difficulty walking. I sat it up by myself. We have cut a few trees on it mostly to start with were cherry. Now we cut whatever I can get. My son is building a barn. We cut 16 telephone poles into 12 foot long and 6 inches by 6 inches. Needless to say we have some good one inch bug proof lumber from them. Cuts everything we have to cut perfectly so far. Could only ask for cheaper blades and parts. But 16 foot maximum cut is going to be used shortly. Red oak, white oak, or hickory. It does a good job cutting. Just real slow on the dry hard wood. My mill when I get to fast cutting will try to jurk and vibrate so I slow down and my cuts are good.”
“Really enjoying my OS23 and working on milling trees from my property. Got it a trailer package. Made a 16x24 workshop for my smaller tools and am in the process of making a new wood shed 8x16 for my log splitter and a couple cords of wood.”
“I hesitated so long on pulling the trigger on a mill. We only have 1 acre, with no trees, and not much free time. I don’t have big equipment or even a 4x4 truck. Black Friday the price was so good I went for it anyway. Putting the mill together wasn’t awesome, the directions could use a better “flow” and updating, but we got it done and the actual milling process is so nice. There are free logs everywhere and many neighbors have offered logs. I got some big red cedar logs for free and with some wedges, pvc pipes and a come-along, we got them in my dad’s mower trailer. These two logs will probably pay for half the mill. The price is just such a good value.”
“I have owned my Frontier OS23 for just over a month. Assembly was challenging but there are alot of parts to put together. I choose the 10 hp briggs engine and it seems to be powerful enough to cut through 15-18 inch hardwood. It is also very easy to crank. I would reccomend the automatic blade lube system as it gives you one less thing to think through as you are sawing logs. So far I am a fan and look forward to many hours of cutting and saving money.”
“OS 31 with the 10 foot cutting range and the mobile base is an excellent way to get into log resigning. You can easily lift the logs onto this very sturdy unit with a tractor or forklift or the winch. I only got the 13 1/2 hp engine, but it seems more than sufficient And it starts with one or two pools. I wish the choke was easier to use because you have to reach around to get it, but it starts and runs her easily turning the water on and off is easy setting the cut height is very accurate and easy and pushing the saw through the wood is much easier than I expected. It rolls very well on the metal rails. The only struggle was putting together. It took me quite a bit of time and had to redo a few things. It also was quite a piece of work to get the head unit up onto the mobile base they have it was all assembled. It’s tall and heavy. I ended up putting my forks through it and lifting it with my tractor and setting it on the tracks the hardware that came with the unit was excellent and very sturdy. I’ve had it sitting outside now for three months and there’s no signs of an issue with Rust. The unit is well completed. I have to admit the first day I put a blade on it. I cut an entire tree with almost no issue. It was really hard for me to put the blade on the first time because I didn’t fully follow the instructions but once I did, the plate goes on quite easy. It was a bit hard for me to understand how to adjust The pitch of the blade in and out a label or two would’ve made that a lot easier but once you figure it out, it’s super simple to keep the blade tracking properly. If anyone has any questions, let me know the company and the service provided during the purchase and install was outstanding and it came from Canadians that work in the company in Canada and did just a great job communicating I bought several accessory since I recommend everybody has at least two places to hold the wood against the stakes, I have three bars to set the log against and two to state to hold it against it. In that way a short log or long log stays put just fantastic. Couldn’t be happier.”
“I am a first time sawyer. I bought an OS18 with track extension to turn the blowdown on my 60 acre wooded property into lumber for use on property and in making furniture. Set it up and began using it this past summer and have no real complaints. It is great to learn on a small mill.
Frontier are great to deal with - I had an issue with the exhaust and they rectified it very quickly.”
“saw works great until after 5 hours of usage the large pulley that drives blade on left side, bolt came off pulley was loose twisting blade and broke the teeth.
i was able to reinstall”
“The order was smooth and fast shipping. Added a few extra parts after initial order and they came fast too. Took us about a day to assemble. The book of directions were pretty easy enough. The sawmill has been working great so far. Love it!”
“I purchased my OS23 in the spring of 2021 with the 7hp pull start Briggs and Stratton engine, extra blades, and an extension for longer cuts. She's been really good at what she does. I did upgrade the engine to an 18hp Duramax engine in 2022 and the cuts are like butter. It paid for itself in the first couple months with the lumber I milled. I love my little 23 mainly because it's easy to service and repair. It's a good brand with good customer service and fast shipping.”
“Very easy purchase and delivery process were very helpful even without asking the mill was easy to assemble and cuts nice showed up early and without a scratch on the crate”
“For the most part Im really happy with the mill I've cut some really big logs approx 22in and just have to take it slow I'm really glad I went with the 10hp motor on os23. I'm having a pretty hard time getting really consistent thickness lumber cut but working on that Did have some trouble with paint flacking off on a few pcs But they replaced them”
“OS27 So far mill is working great. Really like the extra yellow side plates on the mill track. Gives extra strength to the rails. 13.5 hp motor pulls ok. Gotta read the install manual a couple of times and take your time putting together. Suggest watching several of the OS27 videos on youtube. Learned a lot that saved time and little tricks that improved the operation of the mill.”
