“Every time I visit Edinburgh I make a point of buying my favorite fudge at the Fudge Kitchen. It is so creamy and rich - not grainy and crumbly like so many others. I recently developed an intolerance to dairy, and was thrilled that they have options I can eat!!! They even made my very favorite - dark chocolate sea salt, and I bought a few slabs to bring home to Texas to enjoy it for some time to come. The staff has always been welcoming and informative - I love watching the fudge making process and enjoy the ongoing commentary. I will be back!!”
“The Fudge Kitchen offers the best fudges ever, the solid is creamy, smooth, mouth-melting, chewy and rich in the taste of natural ingredients. I was served by an amazing person, a girl who works there while visiting the world around (what an impressive idea by the way!). She made me feel in the shop like in heaven surrounded by the tempting smell and the view of the huge cauldrons where the solid was brewed and mixed by the professional witches like males focused strongly on getting the best product! Lovely experience, greatly recommended to go there. Best from Justyna”
“I've visited a few Fudge Kitchen shops and the teams make you feel like part of the family. The fudge is out of this world and the service is just as good. Even when something went a bit wrong the head office team went above and beyond for me. Strongly recommend.”
Hi Alice,
Thanks for your kind review. We're glad we had the opportunity to put things right for you, and apologise it came to that in the first place. Enjoy the fudge!
“Fudge Kitchen have always been the cream of the crop for customer service. Whenever there’s been an issue with an order (on the rare occasion) they always bend over backwards to make it right.
Their fudge is delicious, and their teams energetic and passionate. What a great bunch!”
“I’ve been following fudge kitchen on Instagram for a while now and I was so excited to try their products. I have an almost obsession with fudge (given the fact my grandmother was a confectioner) I do make my own fudge for other people as gifts but it’s not worth the effort for yourself. My husband bought me 6 bars for Valentine’s Day. After our meal I decided to cut us each a square. As I cut into the first bar (strawberry and cream) the knife got stuck in the quagmire in the middle. It was almost impossible to cut as it stuck to the knife. Reading the lovely booklet inside I decided to freeze the fudge as it would be easier to slice. Over the last few days we have cut squares off each flavour to try (defrosted as per instructions) I have to say I’ve been really disappointed with them all (haven’t tried the last 2 and don’t think I will) The taste is ok, overwhelming condensed milk though even the flavoured ones but as that’s a main ingredient we’ll let that slide. it’s the texture I’m having a real issue with, it’s essentially a smooth tablet I wouldn’t call it fudge at all and as any traditional Scottish confectioner will tell you there’s a fine line between a really good tablet and a really poor fudge and that fine line is the fat to sugar ratio. The packaging is beautiful though, the fudge is aesthetically appealing. It is quite expensive but the ingredients are quite expensive. my husband said it arrived promptly and he didn’t have any issues with their website. If you fancy a sweet treat give it a go. If you’re a fudge purest maybe try ochil instead.”
Hi Angie,
Thanks for your review and sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your fudge. It certainly sounds like there was a temperature issue with the fudge which caused it to go soft. You should be able to cut it quite easily. Though the inside is meant to be soft and creamy, it should absolutely hold its shape. We only use all-natural flavourings and never use condensed milk in our fudge so the flavour issue is more likely a result of the fudge softening in transit.
We make our fudge fresh every day using the same time-tested sugar-crafting techniques we have done for over 40 years, and though each batch may have slight differences in taste and texture, we're always striving for that perfect sweet spot each and every time. Please do reach out to us again and we'll be happy to look into this for you.
Hi Anna, sorry to hear you had a bad experience with our website. On our site, we never state that you can select a delivery date as we use third-party delivery services such as Royal Mail and DHL. We go to great lengths online to ensure all our customers have all the information they need when placing an order to receive it when they like - particularly as our product is sold fresh with no preservatives.
In this instance, it seemed you confused the option to choose a despatch date with a delivery date, which resulted in your order arriving a couple of days later than you had wanted. The team will always do what they can to rectify a situation, especially if it's through a fault of our own, but the information is quite clear online and available throughout the site and the basket process.
We're sorry that on this occasion you found it confusing and hope that you or your recipient enjoyed the fudge enough to return again.
“We bought £44 worth of fudge. 12 slices. My wife and are extremely disappointed. The product is unlike any fudge we have had. Smooth, gooey and like a previous reviewer stated - “claggy” in your mouth. Slimy and cloying. Pretty gift boxes and speedy service. Very well packaged too. I’m not going to bother complaining as their website spouts on about product variations and that it should be embraced. I know I’d get nowhere. Inconsistency in my opinion is not a good thing. It’s poor quality control. We’ve got 12 slabs of so called fudge that is somewhere between disgusting and delicious but in truth nearer to disgusting. It might end up in the bin. I feel as though I’ve had my pants pulled down.”
“I bought 4 slabs of fudge in Cambridge for a friend who loves fudge. I was embarrassed to discover within a day it had melted out of shape and could not be cut, it looked disgusting. I was told not to put it in the fridge so stored it in a kitchen with other food items, no heating. Even at room temp it was out of shape and melted. A complete waste of 17 pounds. Also the staff told me it lasted at least 3 weeks yet I see your leaflet says 'up to 2 weeks' and the box says 10 days. Normally fudge can be cut up and keeps its shape.
I would never ever buy from Fudge Kitchen again. Very misleading advertising!”
