“Ordered a mix of plants, 2 Buddleia Flutterby Petite Tutti Fruitti Pink - Dwarf Buddleja @£15-99 each. 1 of the Buddleija was acually dead and a weed growing in its place. the other was no better. Contacted company 3 times via there ticket chat. All three chats just closed. I was very polite when i contacted company. No contcat back from them. Wont use them again and would hope people take heed not to also.”

“I am giving Gardening Express 1 star, rather than 0 stars, purely for the fact that the plants eventually arrived. Quite a surprise that anything turned up. In the 8 weeks (24th April-18th June) between placing the order and receiving the order Gardening Express were: - Quick to take payment - Uncontactable - Not offering any way to cancel - Writing generic excuses for delays whilst still taking more orders Now the plants have arrived and are much smaller than I ordered. It'll be a miracle if they grow well and turn into the plants I ordered 2+ months ago.”

“Waited months for my order but was prepared to be patient in view of the current situation with Covid 19. However, I did expect to receive a plant in good condition when it finally arrived- not so, it bears no resemblance to the one described online which showed a healthy looking mediterranean fan palm in a terra cotta pot with loads of branches. The one I received appears to have a white blight on it, the leaves are brown and yellow and it is one weedy looking stem in a plastic pot. As another customer has posted - nothing but a rip off!!! It was not cheap either!”

“SHAMEFUL COMPANY - DO NOT USE!! Ordered £170 of flowers on 20 April - after raising tickets and trying to get hold of anyone - arrived 27 June (!!) and all tiny compared to description and very limp and dead looking. Thinking of contacting Martin Lewis as it must be illegal to trade like this!!”

“Ordered plants in April and they arrived from the middle of June in Sri a and drabs. All poor quality, broken, dried up. And still waiting for £20 worth of the order. A ticked placed nearly 2 months ago has had no reply. They’re robbers who took advantage of a crisis.”

“Plants arrived and I refused them after 2 months of waiting. Contacted Citizens advice, and was told to send an email quoting my rights. Rang my bank and had to send all communication proof both from myself and them. Wish I had never seen this company online. Now awaiting results from the fraud department in my bank”

“Ordered first set of plants 5.5 weeks ago and still nothing. Stupidly I made a second order at the beginning of June so it will be Christmas before they arrive I would expect. They should stop taking orders until they have cleared the backlog like other responsible companies do, rather than keep taking orders they cannot fulfill and keep your money for months on end!! I have asked for the order to be cancelled if they cannot send this week but still heard nothing. I am going to contact the credit card company and report them if nothing is done.”

“I ordered then waited 9 weeks for half my order to arrive. Flowers in sorry state, all brown and dying. The rest I'm still waiting on 11 weeks later, despite many attempts to get a response from them. All I've got so far is if I want a refund, I have to pay to return the plants (even though I don't have half of them). Utterly despairing experience. AVOID.”

“I ordered plants in early March with a 2 week promise of delivery. Several emails came to say the order was under way and plants would be in good order and well looked after . They arrived yesterday after after approx 12 weeks .The erysimum had no flowers and was shrivelled -it is well past the time for them anyway .The pinks had a few flowers but mainly dead ones . At the same time I ordered plants from Barnsdale Nursery . on a Monday ,they arrived 3 days later and were excellent . If Gardening Express could not fulfil the order they should have said so and offered a refund straight away .”

“If it was possible to give no stars I would have done so. I have never dealt with such an appalling on line retailer. I have received my order almost 4 months after ordering with some of the plants missing. The plants I have received are not of the quality I would have expected. Having tried to contact Gardening Express I again receive another automated detail which does not deal with the issue.”

“This company is ripping everyone off and getting away with it! ordered 9th Apr and still waiting for delivery! Raised ticket to cancel but no reply, there's no way of getting in touch with them. I suggest everyone who has had a bad experience report this company to trading standards and BBC watchdog. They are stealing your money!!!”

“Terrible service. Delivery very delayed, items sent are pathetic looking, customer service is appalling Once you order you can't cancel, even if you cancel they would not listen and still send the items. Items come missing. Never ever think of buying from them. Avoid at all cost”

“Spent over £50.00 2 months ago. 5 dead Lupins arrived Thursday. Still waiting for my Torbay Palms. Can't wait to see what condition they'll arrive in. Any one know how i get my money back as can't make contact with them and delivery company useless?”

“Terrible service 3 months to arrive inadequate packaging plants arrived damaged 12 days after being packed into plastic bags and flimsy cardboard box do not use these people no way of contacting them and they say you can only cancel your order with 24 hours of ordering RUBBISH”
