I ordered 5 Kniphofia and relied on the picture that they were the same. I wished I'd read these reviews beforehand. They arrived in the same bag, so I do not know which plant is which. I have (I think) 2 healthy plants if I'm lucky and the bag they were in was positively putrid, so I can't see any of the plants surviving - they were just the roots which have gone in 2 pots together. There is no contact by phone with this company, neither do they answer the queries raised on their website. I wouldn't order from them again, nor would I recommend anyone else to do so. They retain the money but I feel this is obtained illegally.

I ordered plants to the value of some £46 on 25th May 2023. When they had not arrived 2.5 weeks later I contacted GE and was told that they had been delivered on 13th June. An email was subsequently sent to me with a photograph taken by their courier showing the box left within a basement area. It was NOT my basement which fact I reported back to GE, offering to send them a photo of my basement if they wished to see what it looks like but I received no reply. I've been emailing them regularly since then and, again, have yet to receive a reply. It is now 24th July, 2 calendar months since I placed my original order, and all I have to show for it is proof of payment made to/taken by Gardening Express but NO plants. This firm's Customer Service is non-existent, tonally appalling as is the fact that they do not have a telephone number a customer can use to reach them. Do think twice, if not three times, before ordering anything from Gardening Express - far better to purchase from the RHS which is an exemplary supplier.

Hi all, like the other reviews I had dead, decapitated, destroyed, or damaged plants delivered and no response via the only form of communication (email). Help is at hand because as an internet supplier they are bound by strict rules. So if you have received an incorrect, damaged, or poor quality order and Gardening Express are not responding to your concerns you have a right to refund. As they are internet only I suspect everybody pays by card (credit or debit), so contact your card provider (bank ?) and raise a "Transaction Dispute". You will need details of the order, date of delivery, copy of correspondence and photo's of your delivered item (and if you can copy the photo of the product as advertised on the web site. Not sure if there is a time limit, but try it as it worked for me. Lack of response does not mean you are helpless - perhaps if enough people claim a transaction dispute, Gardening express will realise that Customer Service is essential. Good luck.

Placed 2 orders with this company, value of each over £70. Last delivery had Kniphofia bulbs x 5 which were withered, slimy & smelled stagnant - certainly won't be thriving anytime. No response from multiple emails. Can't complain about quality of previous trees & plants, but certainly won't be a returning customer.

DANGER (SCAM) Thay will take payment, then that's it. You can not contact them. They have all your card details. Your order will not arrive, and if you are lucky enough that something will arrive weeks and weeks later. It will be dead.

Incorrect delivery sent much cheaper plants instead. Trying to contact them is hopeless. No phone number never reply to chat , emails, messaging. Basically they ignore you once they’ve taken their ££. I’m not giving up though!! Avoid them

Ordered a Japanese maple sango kaku for £136.98. The tree arrived several weeks later in not good condition with few leaves on it despite the time of the year would suggest more. the tree has been correctly planted in a pot using the ericaceous compost and top soil mixture and put in a partial shade location in the back garden not exposed in a windy area. A few days after the tree presented leaves scorched and crispy, and subsequently fell down. I am worried that the tree has been dispatched already not in healthy status. No replies in two weeks so far. Please avoid this company. I will definitely use a local garden shop next time. Lesson learned.

Plants turned up 2weeks after ordering half dead and nothing like the pictures on their site. One small tree was nearly dead. £70 I won’t be getting back. Complained with pictures and chased for a response, still no contact. Please avoid and stick to your local garden centre

I ordered and paid well over £200 for some palm plants . I only got half my order. And no signs of anything else to be delivered they are ignoring my emails . Has anybody got their money back from their bank with this scam. I have no hesitation now to take this to the small claims Court for Breach of contract law. Has anybody taken them to Court at all? Now I sit here crying my eyes out for being so stupid.

I ordered a Salix tree on 3rd June it arrived on 12th June. Not in good condition brown foliage not healthy at all. Tried e-mailing and sent photos no response. With no phone number this is a shambolic company, taking money and sending rubbish plants. Don’t use this company!!!

They took my money and 3 weeks later have not delivered the products I ordered and do not reply to emails or messages in their chat service. Something very odd is happening - I wonder if they run out with people's money.

ou have been warned. These are scam outfit. They send out undersized plants on purpose then offer you a £5 discount to keep them. Two months on they still won't give me a refund. You have been warned by me and the other reviews on here. Just spend the extra few pounds and buy from a garden centre or you will lose all of your money and have incorrect plants. There is no phone number to call them btw as they do not want calls. You have been warned.

Worse company to deal with,place a big order,upon receiving one plants nearly dead & other was out of soil and 2 branches already/ nearly broken, contacted Garden express 4 times by chat,quick messaging and email NO REPLY. Not going to return dead plants and to bare the expenses als have no guarantee i will get my money. They claim they r cheaper than than yougarden and rest but there quality are far worse than others and small plants. Be aware don't buy from Garden Express

Plant never grew or had any leaves- did the “ bark “ test as asked and dead as a door nail- no answers or contact. Absolutely rubbish

We have placed a few orders with this company, but on the last delivery the plant turned up DEAD, with a broken stem. We thought, that's a shame, but we thought the Company would put the problem right, but NO, two emails and not even the decency to reply. They have turned a Customer into a NEVER AGAIN Customer who has also told family and friends. All due to what should have been a simple problem to solve with normal Customer Service. They told me my (After ordering) that my plants would be 2 weeks. The first 2 arrived after 2 weeks and 2 days. Then nothing so I wrote to say I was going on holiday and as they had missed the deadline to either cancel or not deliver. I heard nothing. Then some days later while on holiday guess what - my plants were being delivered. On arrival home, the plants were dead inside cardboard boxes. I wrote 2 more emails and didn't have a response. Plants are also weak and small.
