I have claimed on this insurance with my vehicle being "Hit"by another vehicle ,GAFLAC quickly organised repair and gave me an excellent car..whilst mine was being repaired..very quickly done and well pleased..

Completely useless - couldn't find my new car to insure and didn't offer any help whatsoever. Don't go there - terrible customer service - only contactable through email - no telephone support even when major problem

Very simple thing - before going ahead to buy their policy, called the company to check in which form they accept proof of no claim discount. Well, they would not accept an official letter of "Motor proposal confirmation" sent by my previous insure Sainsbury's Bank. The letter included all necessary details with no claim bonus clearly stated. They said that "Motor proposal confirmation" is not a right document. Good, I stay away from this company! Imagine through what nonsense you would have to go if you need to make a claim!

Found things to be very easy. Was advised not just to take the cheapest option when using comparison sites but GA was a well established brand I recognised and had been with in the past and the choice was easy.

When looking to change my old provider l looked at a number of alternatives but overall l found General Accident offered a good policy at an affordable price.

Fortunately haven't got any claims but would like to see continuous customer service over phone rather than 30 days and less cost of premium for 40yrs driving and no accident but 6yrs no claims bonus maybe more cheaper on renewal. Overall good company

If You car is break down abroad You should get a rent car straight away if it is neceserry and it should to be paid so You dont have to worry about transport. I was waiting almost 6 hours and decied to rent a car by myself.

I took out insurance and they were very efficient, documents through quick etc but after a month you have no telephone contact with the company any any requests are via email and I emailed them 8 months into policy to ask if I could temporarily add a driver to cover and it took them 48 hours to reply so aftersales service very poor.

I took out insurance with general accident in July 2015 on my first car and made a claim shortly after (oops!), but the way my claim was dealt with was totally and utterly appalling. I was told that if I wanted a courtesy car (which is promised in my policy) I would have to wait two weeks for my car to go in for repair. When I logged a complaint about my experience I was told that this was not the correct procedure and the person handling my claim should have sourced a courtesy car from another company for me to use whilst my claim was being dealt with. In addition to this, I was given conflicting information on about 7 or 8 occasions over the course of a week as to whether my car would be written off or not (the damage wasn't that extensive, it was just the cost of repair and parts) and when it was declared a write off I was also given a number of differing figures regarding the amount I would receive as a payout. If you want to be supported and kept informed by your insurance company in the event of an accident, do NOT use general accident.

Excellent company, unfortunately wrote my car off and all communication with the company was excellent and made things very clear. The claim was dealt with and settlement made within a week.
