SERIOUSLY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!! What I found most annoying is that this company will only deal with you 28days after you have started your policy and 28days before it’s due renewal. Any date out of this there is no way of contacting general accident as your policy number is not recognised when typed in. I had recently broken down and had no way of contacting my insurance to see about break down cover as explained above the company refuse to deal with you unless it is 28days after your policy starts or 28days before renewal. Reduculious. Again would not recommend atall.

I took the internet only option and bitterly regretted it. GA simply blocked off all other methods of communication and refused to respond to any queries. If you did not fit into their program then they could not be communicated with. I wanted to change driver details and found it hopeless. Their systems are designed for IT specialists only which I am not. Never again!

Having not claimed in 57 years I cannot say a lot about any insurance company I have been with.One thing I will say is after a better offer by my previous company I could not cancel with GA online because an error occurred every time I tried so I smelt a rat here

I took out the policy with GA because I liked the price and it was accompany name I was familiar with. correspondence and documentation is all done online which enables the cost of the policy to be more competitive. fortunately I have been claim free so no further contact has been necessary.

I have gone back to this company on behalf of my wife as I am with them already and have no problem with using them again to cover my wife's car insurance.

excellent service from my accident, prompt payment into my bank with in 3 days of my claim . Excellent service with their claims department,cannot fault in any way.

I asked them to send me the policy documents for my insurance and also asked them to send the same to my sisters address who I also insured. They said that they would, but they have not bothered.

Terrible service, if you would like an insurance company that only works for new customers then here’s the one for you. If you need to contact them you would be better using a pigeon messenger as you will next get contact details to speak to a person. Also they have increase my charges on my policy without letting me know. Avoid

Useless company.... if somebody crashes into you while you are stationary, they will happily pay out to the person who crashed into you even though the third party were 100% at fault, and if - months later - the third party suddenly ‘decide’ that they were injured in the incident then General Accident will pay out on that too even though the so called injury is clearly bogus. The result is that your insurance will be more expensive the next time round, thus generating more money for the insurance company just to lazily pay out rather than counter the false claims! Hence the fact than car insurance is so expensive. Probably none of the other companies are any better mind you!

It's been nearly a week now and still no help from GA. He went down a sink hole after hitting water on the way to work. £1770 damage. And all the guy in claims said my son would loose 2 years no claims even though he has fully comp. Severn Trent said make a no fault claim against them but your claims guy (peter) said they would not bother because it would take too long to get the money off them. He is out off work now with no transport and can't attend college. Surely your legal team can get compensation for him so he can get back on the road. More time wasted the more his travel expence will increase. I think your company has been of now help at all, but you soon want to take £900+ from him each year.

Changed my car halfway through the year so phoned up and was told easiest way was to do changeover online . I'm not the best on computers but even i found it simple to do and the good thing was there was no changeover admin charges which other companies use to rip you off and the price of insurance for my new car was alot cheaper than i expected . Very impressed with G.A so far .

Couldn't quite believe how easy swift and efficient the process was The staff were friendly helpful knowledgeable and called me when they said they would and my car was delivered to the door In this day and age it's quite rare 10/10

Fine when setting up policy and good rates but once you have a policy u cannot contact them! Now they have cancelled my policy and REFUNDED me for no reason... no I have to find a new insurer and possibly pay a deposit... they had no reason to cancel hence them refunding me but this all goes against me no.... I would avoid this company 100% u could b left uninsured at little notice for no reason
