I do not rate smart miles at all as a good insurance company. I had two extreme speed warnings that I questioned both of ! The warning told me I had gone over 90 miles an hour on both occasions ! My car will literally not go that fast. I will not recommend this company to anybody !! I?m so glad to be out of the contract !

Hi there,I'm sorry to see you have had such a bad experience with our Smartmiles policy. Unfortunately we do have occasions where our boxes pick up incorrect road speeds but rest assured we investigate each extreme speeding event and verify it. If it is deemed to be an error with our systems, this does not have any impact on your policy. I'm sorry to see you have gone to another provider but with you the best with them.~ Jamie

The decision to go with Hastings Smart Miles as my first insurance company was probably the best decision ever. The whole thing has been so simplistic and straight forward. I have recently contacted the customer service team for additional sticky pads for the black box due to having a new car battery & the lady was brilliant, really easy to talk to as well plus the wait time was minimal. Thank you!

I like the smart box as it records all journeys and I hope to prove to a private parking prosecution that I was NOT where they say I was at a particular time . So a useful gadget all round. I do not agree with all the scores I get with my driving but the overall score is still good and my insurance was very slightly reduced this year. Customer service is easy to get but logging on at first was difficult. Hiwever it has been improved or I have got used to it.

If your looking for insurance for your son or daughter avoid hastings smart miles. Awful experience for any new driver filling them with dread and anxienty every time they drive. Pay the extra and avoid getting an innacurate box with an imcompentent insuer and let your son/daughter enjoy thier new found freedom.

We have had the box fitted now for 1 year, tried our best to drive carefully and obtained 98% which meant the renewal was reduced by ?60 a good day all round.

That's the point I didn't have to do anything,as your price was lower than last year result,and you have my card details and if I'm happy ? with it you automatically take it out painless, the only thing for me is I like paper work as I'm frightened I'll forget to pay, but you get reminders coming up to your policy ending.very straight forwards no having to go on comparing sites you offered a good price so I stuck with you .thankyou. And I recommend you too.

i was disgusted with the way you put up my insurance by ?100.00 just because i changed my address from 14,to 6 greenhill great harwood even the post code stayed the same

They sent all the information to a wrong email address so I didn't receive it. Then they cancelled the insurance because I didn't respond. They should at least have a backup plan in case the email doesn't work - post or telephone would work.

Hi there,Thank you for your feedback, we take your comments on board about the email communication, however we would only send emails to addresses that you have initially taken the policy out with. We do mention very early on to check that all the details on the policy are correct and to contact us if you need to change or amend anything. I do apologise that you have had your policy cancelled though as this must have caused much upset and distress.~ Jamie

From changing to your SmartMiles service, [ after speeding fine] Having monitor fitted ,allowing viewing of ratings. Have been able to cut my insurance by another ?100 this year.
