They never return calls/emails. Very slow. Been trying to get my proof of no claims emailed to me as promised. Charged an obscene amount for renewing. Found it £800 cheaper!! Request to be called, they don't call. You email them, get a read receipt back saying it's been read and they don't reply. Awful customer service

Initially, providing Be Wiser with my supporting documents was an absolute nightmare. They were constantly contradicting themselves as to the info I needed to provide. 6 weeks after the policy began, I had to move address. When I called them to advise and get the address changed on the policy they told me they did not cover the area and that my policy would be cancelled. I was pretty annoyed at this as it was such a hassle to set up in the first place. I arrange alternative cover from the date Be Wiser were cancelling my policy and e-mailed Be Wiser to find out when I could expect my refund as I've paid well over the cost for the 2 months I did actually receive service. They proceed to tell me that I owe them over £250 because of the policy being cancelled. This figure is made of admin fees and 20% of the entire policy value. I've received an e-mail chasing payment this morning and I have sent them a strongly worded complaint. I will not be penalized for the fact that they could not provide me with a service at my new address and I have advised them that if I do not receive confirmation of a refund and an apology, I will be taking this as far as it takes. This is disgusting treatment and typical of big companies who will try to extort their customers. I would strongly recommend staying well away from this company.

We had no issues with Bewiser until after we cancelled our policy, in September 2015 my partner called Bewiser and cancelled our insurance 2 months before the end of our policy, 3 months later Bewiser took 2 payments from my bank account. After calling the company it turns out they not only never cancelled our policy but renewed it for another year. We explained that we had cancelled in September and also not received any letters about the policy being renewed, the person on the phone that went on to say that we had not only never cancelled but never contacted them. We spoke to 3 different people and to say the staff were unhelpful would be a understatement, they were never interested in what we had to say, were in my opinion rude and often contradicted each other. We was told we could cancel our policy but we would have to pay £ 400 and odd to do so!!!!! I told the person on the phone that I wanted to make a formal complaint and would like someone to call me within 5 days and did not want any contact via email. I never received a call, just a email shortly after the call to say we needed to pay a cancellation fee. 8 weeks later we received a short email to say they had looked into our complaint and found that we owed them the money for the cancellation fee. Since then my partner has been in contact several times with their complaints department. At the same time we have been continuously contacted by another department for the payment, annoyingly the amount we owe them in their emails continue to change and often include threats of passing our 'debt' onto a third party. We are currently making a formal complaint through the financial ombudsman and was assured by the person in Bewiser's complaints department that he would pass that information on so we are not continually being harassed for money so you can imagine our annoyances that we have been contacted 4 times in the last 2 days via phone (funny how no one can call to discuss your complaint but they are happy to phone you to take your money). Whether Bewiser are in the wrong or not the financial ombudsman will decide however just by the way this company have treated and continue to treat us and how rude and unhelpful all the staff we have spoken to have been means we will never recommend them and I for one will be happy to tell everyone I can how they treat their customers.

I first came across this be wiser on a comparison website, typed my details in correctly and they came up with a competitive quote so I gave them a ring. After reading through my details I was told that my quote was invalid as it was based on a full no claims bonus and I actually had 0 no claims. Thinking I'd made the mistake we spent ages on the phone getting much higher prices. The sales person was friendly but pushy. Eventually we got to a price with aviva, which I was told would mirror my wifes 8 years no claims bonus the following year if I did not make a claim in year one. Although it seemed like a good deal I was feeling pushed into buying now as the sales advisor had told me she was on the phone to aviva to get this good price and deal and that it could only be gauranteed if I bought whilst still on the phone. Feeling pushed I decided to think about it. I rang back later and was told that they could still do the same offer and it was a really good deal as although it was much more expensive than the competition, if I didn't make a claim in the first year then next year I would actually have 8 years no claims bonus as opposed to one. (no mention that I had to reniew with them). Seemed a good deal right! Well I bought it. The policy approached the end and I did get a renewal including the 8 years ncd but it was a very high price, almost as much as the first year so I went with someone else over £200 cheaper. Be wiser refused to send me proof of no claims until the policy lapsed, no worries. So the policy lapsed, my new policy with another insurer began and no proof of no claims arrived for several days. After badgering them I finally got the proof of no claims for not the 8 years I was expecting but just 1 year. On complaining I was told that I cannot take a mirrored ncd with me if I leave as I have not earned it. Although having looked into it I find that this is true, This is not what I was led to believe when taking out the policy and I feel conned. After having looked at my quote on the comparison website, I found that I had not initially made a mistake on no claims as I did clearly fill in the box as 0 ncb. Too late to cancel by then as there was an admin fee which wouldn't make it worth the bother so I lived with it. Knowing what I know now and reading other reviews I can see that it appears they try to entice you with a quote based on incorrect ncb, then miss sell policies by not explaining the details fully. They offer to give good no claims discount and do, however a no claims discount is a percentage off of the premium so they simply give a silly high quote and knock the discount off of that so that you still end up paying more. I feel totally conned and ripped off. I have gotten no where with complaining. It is now in the hands of the ombudsman but I expect they know legal loop holes around it so won't hold my breath. If they reply to this saying it has been resolved, it has not. I have had my final written response from them which states they have done nothing wrong and advises me to take it to the ombudsman if I am not happy so they must be pretty confident. Maybe they haven't done anything legally wrong but this is what happened and that's how I've been left so make up your own mind. Just check out online reviews for yourself before getting involved with these people. I wish I had. Lesson learned

Bought a car insurance worth of £1823.52 last month. After 28 days, I had to reject the car insured to the motor trader as it has several faults. Called to cancel my policy with Be Wiser and boom: I have to pay nearly £900 to have it canceled (paid a deposit of £392.62, one payment of £200.74 and now they demanding another nearly £300). Some amounts are in the cancellation policy but they are demanding 10% on "lose interest" which is nowhere in the policy. I definitely was NOT WISE when purchased this policy and even if some term are in the policy HOW CAN YOU CHARGE £900 FOR A 30 DAY POLICY???????? Be wise, read the T&C carefully and try to avoid them!!!

Miss selling and incompetence, cancelled policy beware !!!!!!! Today 05/08/16 Be wiser customer services contacted me re complaint below. They have offered no solution to the problem and have still not refunded the monies taken from my bank account for the now cancelled insurance. Also mysteriously they do not believe my version of events because they claim to be unable to find recording of their salesman miss selling me the insurance. I wouls strongly advise anybody wishing to insure with Be wiser to seriously look elsewhere due to their sales based incompetent salesmen who are only after commission on sales and will do what ever it takes to make a sale, even if they have no idea what they are doing. Be wiser of course will subsequently just cancel your insurance like it is nothing. Complaint with insurance ombudsman and watchdog ???? Be warned. Copied below brief description of complaint and copied letter sent to 3 of the directors, as expected no reply or acknowledgement has been received. However they have subsequently cancelled my policy !!!!!! Miss selling and incompetence quote a price which was agreed and then up it by £280.00 with a pay up or else attitude... Rogue traders beware. Dear Mr XXXXXXXXXXX With reference to the above reference and policy. I have just had the misfortune of dealing with the most unprofessional organisation ever, this being Be Wiser insurance. I contacted your company for a quote for my van insurance and answered all the questions honestly to your sales man. Because your premium was coming out dearer than other quotes I had received due to me having no NCD your salesman then suggested my wife be added to the policy whereby I would be allowed her NCD of 9 years even though it was used on another vehicle. This meant that you price became very competitive and I duly accepted his price and accepted the insurance. I then paid £104.43 towards the policy and all was good. I then received an email letter saying that because of an error my insurance was going to be cancelled unless I contact you immediately. I then spent the next couple of days trying to address the situation. It transpires that your sales man was unable to allow the NCD from my wife which is surely incompetence or lack of product knowledge on behalf of him and subsequently your company. And because of this it put the premium up by approx £280.00 and unless I paid the extra £280.00 my insurance would be cancelled. All your customer service dept/ sales dept keep telling me is that incorrect information was given. I agree it was but not by me !!!! It was by your incompetent sales man... Like you I have been in business for 30 + years dealing with contracts and prices on a daily basis. And know that a contract being a legal binding agreement is binding on both parties. However your company appears to think that they can just cancel my insurance over your companies incompetence !!!! I have tried dealing with your company speaking with 4 customer service and manager grade staff and managed to get nowhere. If your company had originally quoted me the premium £280.00 higher than you did I would never have gone with you in the first place. This has to be miss selling on the highest order. As of 09.44 today 27/07/16 I find myself without insurance due to being given 2 options 1 pay up or 2 we cancel ??? Before I make this public or take the matter to the insurance ombudsman and talk to our solicitor re this sorry affair I thought I would get your view on the matter.

Be wiser??? more like be ripped off This company adds charges and interest on your policy which it doesn't tell you about an insurance quote with 4 years no claims started out at 54 pounds per month then because I was a month under my four years and told them about it they stated it would go up to 76 pounds a month looked at my quarterly statement to find the direct debits are 90.00 a month due to interest charges. This company may look great on compare sites you have to ring them to take out insurance and the price on the compare sites is not what you get quoted on the phone charges for this charges for that attitudes that need addressing its hard enough to get insurance at the best rate but to be blatantly ripped off is a you get with these jokers AVOID!!!!!!!!

Avoid them at all costs. They are scammers. They will give you a quote with everything included like No Cliam Protection, Legal Fees, Road Side Assistance . On the final policy you will find everything they promised on the 1st quotation have been withdrawn and the premium is much much higher than what they quoted. You will find it the wrong way once you are involved in an accidents that your NCB was not protected

Waiting 6 weeks for them to fully respond to my concerns about the breakdown policy they sold me. They know that I due to travel abroad 28 June and that I am not correctly covered yet they bury their heads inn the sand. The worst customer relations I have ever experienced. Avoid them or use them at your peril

50 years of driving, with a 5 year break, I never made a claim and I haven't had to make a claim with my present insurance. I will be looking for the cheapest insurance when this one runs out.

I had fully comp with bewiser for years including breakdown cover with loan car if u was to break down and payed them thousands of pounds and never made a single claim but a few weeks ago my car completely died on me over a hundred miles from home with my dissabled wife, my dissabled son and my twin boys. When I contacted bewiser they said I couldn't have a loan car or get my car towed home and in terms of me making a claim for my car being dead I wasn't able to even tho I was fully comp. this company are a bunch of con artist and I would recommend that no one takes out insurance with them and any one that has insurance with them to change there insurance company before these conning BA###RDS rip you off to.
