Easy to apply on line; I imported my bike to the UK and MCE were happy to insure based upon the chassis number, very helpful. Rates are very competitive. All policy documents could be downloaded online, very convenient from a data storage perspective.

Could have been even more happy if cheaper but the lady who helped me was very knowledgable and a pleasure to deal with.

Avoid this company, fine until you have a claim and then they will seek every opportunity to delay settlement and then use every tactic in the book to reduce their liabilitity My experience included weeks of silence, then a request for no claims proof from 6 years ago, a hundred and sixty pounds to my premium in order to reduce the claim settlement. I am a 55 year old riding a scooter (original premium seventy pounds!) then not sending a cheque for weeks. Miserable company when you need them most. MCE/1033450/mc

Stay well away from this company, whatever insurance you take out if you decide to cancell it within the fourteen day cooling off period you will be charged £64.00. I had insurance through MCE for less than 12 hours, the policy cost £99.00, The cancellation fee they want is £64.00 Under FOS regulations this is not allowed, MCE is run by non caring youngsters who couldn't care less about you, The reason I wanted to cancell the policy was that the bike was sold to someone else and as such I didn't need the policy They are scum, stay away from them, look at all the negative reviews. Won't refund me a penny back, I asked today and was told NO they plan on hanging onto my £99.00 then. IF YOUR NOT HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE YOU RECEIVE FROM MCE GO TO THE OMBUDSMAN, I AM. It is a completely free service and it costs MCE £550.00 in fees to the ombudsman for every complaint that the Ombudsman has to deal with on your behalf IT COSTS YOU NOTHING TO COMPLAIN to the Ombudsmanand I encorouge you to do so if you feel you have been wronged by MCE

Here's why to avoid this company, I took out insurance through MCE for a bike that I had decided to buy, I did this online but the very next morning when I went to get the bike it had been sold even though the seller said he would hold it for me. I contacted MCE straight away and was charged £64.00 cancellation fee on a £99.00 policy, the laws states that there is a fourteen day cooling off period and the insurer can only charge a small fee for the period of cover, MCE told me that the insurance cost was just 26p for one days cover, the rest is admin fees, anyway off to the ombudsman, for every complaint the ombudsman has to deal with MCE will have to fork out £250.00 so more fool them, I won't recommend their services nor will I ever insure with them again, quite honestly it's a rip off, all companies should act in a fair and reasonable manner not blatantly rip their customers off

I ma the third party. On Friday I was in an incident at 10:30 PM. The very next day my insurance was notified. Despite several phone calls to them, I have yet to even speak to the right department as when you go through to the 3rd party department (despite being given a 'direct line' for them which was actually the renewals number) you just get a recorded message asking you to email into the 3rd party team, without clarifying which 3rd (or third) they mean. Putting that to one side, it has taken daily phone calls for 4 days for them just to admit they can actually add the police report log number to their records. Still no contact regarding my repair, my version of events, reciept of my email (even automated) or any acknowledgment it's being dealt with. Even had an agent back track when they tried to say they were processing it as a non fault claim (biker undertook, through a bicycle lane, I have 4 witnesses + a police report advising rider error, my own insurance also said it was going down as their fault immediately). With all of the multiple times I've phoned up I have spoken to a total of 3 agents, across 6 phone calls. The combination of this and their shoddy service (poor IVR, poor customer manner, not having enough agents to even staff the phones as the 3rd party line has been taken down as they're so busy apparently etc) leads me to feel they are just a poor all round company. Soon I will be seeking legal action, as I have all the calls on my phone recorded and a record of the email I sent on my outbox. Basically, everything they could have done wrong, other than not answering the phone, they pretty much have.

After looking at many different insurers, I found that MCE offered the best price by far! It was so much quicker than I thought and dealt with a very friendly advisor! Thanks!

MCE doesn't deserve a star but I can't write the review without giving them one star. A terrible terrible company. The only way I would recommend to use them is if you never intend to claim. They are cheap and so you meet your legal obligation to be insured. But they are truly awful. Their admin systems are appealing and i complained to the regulator because they deliberately held up my statement of no claims bonus which I needed to get insured with another company.

What went wrong is the question - where do I start! Nearly 6 months after my bike was torched by some mindless vandal I'm still waiting to settle the claim. They have been spectacularly hopeless, nobody seems to be remotely interested in drawing this to a close. This is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. My advice to you - don't use them.

I took out insurance a CBR600RR on 1st April 2016. I cancelled the policy today, 21st October and was told that there was no refund due, even though I still had 5 full months cover. How can this be??? The reason for cancelling was that I wanted to transfer the cover to another motorcycle, but they wanted more to transfer it for the remaining 5 months than I was quoted for 12 months cover with another company. I have been riding nearly 40 years, never made a claim in that time. I run 4 x motorcycles throughout the year and usually transfer cover from 1 to the other at any given time. I have NEVER had an instance where there wasn't a refund for cancelling a policy - even if it was a small figure. Will I ever use MCE again? I don't think so.

My parked bike was knocked over in July. The driver admitted full responsibility and left his details. He is fully insured. It is now late October and nothing has been done other than my bike being taken away. I have been handed from incompetent person to incompetent person, have been given very bad advice along the way, and have been left completely in the dark as to what is happening. I feel as if I am being treated as a criminal. I really don't see what I am paying MCE for. A similar incident happened previously when I was insured with Bennetts and the matter was resolved quickly and efficiently. I would advise strongly against anyone taking a policy out with MCE.
