“The final price was almost double the initial quote from a comparison site. The agent attributed this to such sites only giving a rough guide. If so, MCE should correct this. Furthermore, though this was a renewal the agent said he could not gain access to my details, obliging me to provide them at length. Interestingly he had no difficulty finding them for a separate discussion of an outstanding claim. MCE has been extremely dilatory in informing me of this claim's progress, and the main reason for re-signing with them is that the claim remains unsettled. Had it been possible not to award stars I would not have done.”

“As this was a renewal it wasn’t the cheapest quote around. However after speaking to somebody on the phone about the price they managed to reduce the cost of the policy by £50 instantly. Shame you have to ask at all really. Why can’t they give you lowest price at the start. Have been insured with them for 3 years previous but shall be going somewhere else next time as this does my head in!!!”

“Used go compare to find not only reasonably priced insurance cover for my Indian Scout Bobber but a cover that met my requirements, MCE were not the cheapest quote to insure my bike but offered the cover that I required at the best price. I required breakdown cover, legal cover etc and the policy chosen had all of that and more at a really good premium. I bought the cover online and checked my documents as soon as the e-mail arrived, although I had filled in details of an accident in a my car, not bike on go compare this wasn’t on the policy documents, I had insured with MCE the previous year also and they had record of the accident. I called the telephone number provided (not free phone) and waited a long period of time (most irritating part), before I got to speak to an advisor who was polite and professional and had it sorted in no time. I have scored MCE four stars as I believe they offer the best policy for bikers at a good premium, I felt that the information should have been transferred from the go compare website correctly or picked up from the previous year and that the wait for customer services to answer was far to long and at a price and this is the only reason that I did not give MCE a five star review.”

“I was very disappointed after being a loyal customer to mce that every year now, my insurance goes up. Also the advisor I spoke to couldn't understand my that when my new policy started. I would take my Nike from the old address where it is still kept, to my new address. This caused a bit of agro and resulted in my policy starting early.”
