Worst ever experience with claim did not care

Does not pay out on valid claims. Rejected my joint policyholders claim because by playing around with the dates of when the conflict at his work occurred. We checked with the Citizens Advice Bureau and they said that the claim shouldn't have been denied. Now we have to deal with the taking Privilege to the Financial Ombudsman Service in addition to dealing going through employment tribunal out of pocket. I've used Ensleigh in 2009 and they paid up without issue so would avoid Privilege in the future!

AVOID. This company is a shambles to the motor industry. Been involved in a accident which was not my fault. Third party admitted liability. All the documents were provided in the first 10 days and these lazy animals have done nothing. I’ve had to ring 47 times and chase everything myself. No one has a clue what’s going on. It’s gone to the complaints team who are just as bad trying to offer £50. It’s not a money thing here it’s principle why I’m having to chase my claim. Make time out and do there job for them. We are 3 months down the line and we are no better of than we were in may. Nobody rings to keep u updated. A so called manager who’s English is broken never calls back. They have got everything wrong from day one and all the staff are uneducated and inexperienced. I’ve taken this up with my solicitor now. Please avoid. I would hate for anyone to go through this palaver. No one EVER should be treated this way. Take my advice or learn the hard way. U have been warned. AVOID

Privilege told me 3 different things about my claim in 1 call ranging from we will pay 50% to we won't pay anything. This despite my insurance schedule saying in writing that I was covered. I was told by the south african call centre rep that the schedule was 'for guidance' only....wrong its a CONTRACT!! Stay away, stay away, stay away. I will let the Ombudsman have his say.

I have been with Privilege car insurance for a number of years now and recently added my wife's car on a joint policy. I can honestly say that Privilege is one of the best companies that I have ever dealt with. The helpline staff are only too pleased to help, nothing is a problem to them. They are extremely helpful an pleasant people to deal with. I would recommend them 100% all the time. William Brown

2 years car insurance with Privilege, at the end of policy I had to tell them how to do their job, I had to tell them what action to take, I had to tell them send me a copy of their corrected mistakes. Did they say even sorry? Keep dreaming!! ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE

Appalling insurance, charge you way more than you should be paying a month, cancelled my policy last week and I'm STILL awaiting my refund into my account and it's been on average 2 WEEKS, which has left me with an uninsured car, stay away from this provider.

Indian call centre, horrific communication both internally and externally and no real interest in helping!

Absolute terrible customer service. I’ve been subjected to laughter on the phone, Pretend Managers on the phone . Staff eating whilst talking to me on the phone. Staff showing no empathy and just being blunt as can be. Shocking company

I originally moved one of my cars insurance policy to Privilege a couple of years ago and the my second for simplicity. Unfortunately in the last 18 months the customer service has become a little challenging just on the basic premise of getting details of insurance contracts or policy details and I am starting to continually find they are highly in-competitive in the vehicles that I have changed too. As many insurance businesses now have on-line document depositories they are defaulting to these rather than send actual bits of paper, or view in this case an email with documents attached. Now I have realised today that I didn't actually have this details so requested it be emailed which I was assured it would be within 4 hours maximum, but I also highlighted that having looked at the online document depository that this was vacant of any actual policy, although I was told this was in place so the email evidence would have been fine however no real explanation as why to why this was devoid of any info even though I have used this facility before and my password still functional allowing me access. In not having received anything after 5 hours once again I was a little concerned and chased to be informed that the back office was busy and this could take between 30mins and 4 hours which had already past in my case. Additionally the individual that I discussed this with became a little defensive indicating the a special pin number was required for access to policies when I highlighted this aspect but then no real reason why I could actually access the online portals but they had nothing in them. Additionally I was told through the verbatim script that must be handed out that she would request again and this could take up to 4 hours before I received emailed documents, which is odd as I had already made this request 5 hours previously through one of her colleagues, so in essence if I actually receive the documents this could be up to 9 hours. IF! The is the second time I have been disappointed with Privilege in less than 12 months I would advise that you avoid them and I await to actually see if I get the documents that I have actually requested on three occasions now. 1) Original 2) Request earlier today and 3) Re-request. As an aside my other insurance company emailed directly and within 10 mins. Its great that Privilege are so busy that they might have to take up to 4 hours to provide existing client info, it makes you feel truly valued as a customer! Hold the Press! - in having just typed this I have suddenly received details how odd that it has just come through now, I am not naturally cynical but it might make you think. These are just my experiences others may be different.

Bitterly disappointed that despite only making two honest claims (one which we chose not to pursue) that we have now been declined household insurance! Be very careful, back in 2015 on a technicality Privilege made our first ever claim into two claims, even though we could evidence it was only one. Now following a recent leak we were advised by a specialist whom we paid for to contact our insurer, which we did. Despite not pursuing this claim Privilege have since told us we've claimed too many times and are a bad commercial risk! I intend to take this matter further with the Financial Ombudsman Service because we have been unfairly treated.

Privilege have been nothing but helpful. The cheapest insurance for young drivers and were happy to price match for a much lower price at renewal. They have also been extremely helpful when an elderly driver drove into my car. No hidden costs for any changes to my policy mileage too.

I was charged £229 for a change of address. When I said that wasn't fair and how can they charge that much he said because they can and if I didn't pay they would cancel my insurance. I don't know how trading standards can allow this.

I have chosen this insurance because it seemed the best option in terms of services and price. After one year the price went up and I asked why, the answer because my car is valuable. This makes sense? And they did not let me know in advance. Later I had an accident, it was not my fault, I took pictures and collected information from the other vehicle. Privilege did not pay any attention to my case that I had to pay my share and more the price went up because I was the one responsible for the accident. How do you think I feel, not being protected by the insurance company from which I have been paying £83 and now £115 plus £ 50 for canceling the insurance ...
