How dare you chase me for renewal when we agreed to cancel & you offered me a refund after failing to rescue for 3 days! my vehicle, my 81 year old passenger & a lady with bipolar disorder. I am so angry

Churchill told us there was indeed no existing or previous fault claim connected and that RAC have been 'misinterpreting the data' - something which Churchill have had many complaints about from customers who had moved to RAC ! I complained as this was definitely fraudulent activity on the part of RAC who agreed to refund the policy and waive any cancellation fee.

I have just contacted RAC and asked for a refund today (23/1/21) My husband is over 70 and was locked down for many months, retired and has used the car to travel just over 1000 miles since we took out the policy with them (20/4/20).

He then decided I wouldn’t need to pay anything at all, and he could process the refund for my deposit right away.

RAC will not refund on an insurance policy if you are forced to work from home due to COVID 19 and if you want to make any changes to the mileage you will be charged an admin fee.

Was told by customer service that if I obtained a confirmation letter from DVLA, I could apply for a refund.

Had rac travel insurance. Holiday company went bust before we went but I didn't claim through the insurance. Tried to swap the date for another holiday but they wouldn't do it or wouldn't give a refund. I was prepared to pay more but they just said sorry you've lost your money. Will never go with rac with any kind of insurance again. Stay clear

Although they confirm that they have a record of her declining the renewal they are taking over a week to refund the money.

Customer service almost non existent. Wrote two emails concerning my NCB but only got standard replies back after three or four days. No one actually answered my queries in my emails. Eventually cancelled my policy within the 14 day period. It cost me around £30 but found a better deal with Churchill. Still waiting for my refund which doesn't surprise me. Will never bother with the RAC again.
