Last year, because I had a disputed accident and didn’t understand the rules and declared something in good faith I was financially penalised by the new company. This year I was very lucky to escape the same fate. In my view the service is only useful as a guide of where to start and for myself, or anyone with a dispute, or accidents it is essential to then follow this up with phone calls to each company. Also, when you do this, you apparently do not get the online offers included. So... not really impressed.

Was going to go with Go compare car insurance because of the £250 free excess, but disappointed I didn't because it wasn't worth it because my insurance was £60 - £70 cheaper on other comparison websites. Note, more than one comparison site. It shouldn't be a different price by such a large amount when I did all comparisons at the same time. Its not worth the £250 free excess if my car doesn't get damaged, I hardly drive, I would of lost £60 - £70 by going with gocompare. Be as cheap as the other comparison sites, then I'd go with gocompare in the future

Narrowed down a choice for car insurance, needed to add another year no claims and when I did the premiums went up not down!! Went through same steps with Money Supermarket and got same deal £62 cheaper!! Just as well I did "go compare" as the same policy turned out cheaper!!

It doesn't give u a cheaper insurance or find u a cheaper one from last year Even though I have a 20 Yr NCB It keeps going up every year

After all the form filling and quote reading I selected the two recommended companies and neither was able to proceed on the car i wanted insured. What was the point of quoting in the first place?!

Thought I set up my insurance with Swindon did D/D paid deposit it then shut down and I have not heard anything from them since so I don’t know if I’m insured

Far too complicated Many of the questions are repetitive - When you get through to a company the whole thing is a repeat I gave up and went direct to companies

All car insurance quotations included unacceptably high compulsory excess levels of £600+. I have obtained an alternative quotation from a very reputable company with a lower premium and a compulsory excess of £100.

All went well till it came to pay, Entered Card details .....Rejected not known !! Re entered, no joy !! Probably because you had an old card number on file ?.............system not flexible for the older generation, so invoked plan B and phoned L V direct, sorted in minutes using a human, amazing they still exist and also work. So after an adventurous afternoon yesterday I got the policy I wanted but lost out on your generous £250 offer, Hey ho what a farce. DM
