“First time on go compare looking go insurance for my sons moped found one that appeared to tick most of the boxes, not the cheapest but gave free legal assistance & breakdown cover, as I was filling in the on line questionair, my mobile rang it was them , the lady asked if I was still interested in insurance, we then went through the whole process again & only to find that the online quote was completely wrong and the policy would in fact cost me another £130.00 from around £250 it had shot up to £377 ish these people are crooks who operate by grabbing your attention with attractive prices on comparison sites then pulling your underpants down with the real prices”

“Got a quote paid deposit tried ringing goskippy no answer thought I would have had an email by now with my insurance papers so still don't know if I can drive the car no corrospondence”

“Found much cheaper on independent websites and exactly the same broker on compare the market was £60 cheaper than go compare. So not impressed.”

“I wish I had never used this site. It has caused me so many phone calls and emails as well as aggressive selling techniques. Shall stick to my local broker instead. One site even bombarded me with several quotes. Then told belittled me over a quote saying how can you get a quote that low with no no claims. Did not realise it came from them. I am out of pocket, was given wrong information. Will never use you again. Very distressed and disappointed.”

“the price given is no where near what the 'real' price is when through to the insurance company. To me the prices given are just a 'hook' to make you follow up the 'quote'”

“Gocompare is quite deceitful. I tried to buy car insurance but there are massive differences between the quotes screen and when you go through to accept an offer. For example, suddenly the courtesy car was no longer guaranteed and I would have to pay extra to get one in the event of an accident.”
