In Devon on holiday caravan park, car would not start. Attended by John from Green Flag who quickly found the problem to be the ignition key which wasn't communicating with they engine. Using spare key and Voila! Thankyou

CALLED GREENFLAG TO COME OUT AND START MY CAR WHICH HAD BEEN STANDING FOR WEEKS DUE TO MEDICAL REASONS. CAME AT LEAST AN HOUR BEFORE DUE TIME AND STARTED MY CAR WITHIN MINUTES. ALWAYS REASONABLY QUICK AND VERY EFFICIENT. ****BRILLIANT****

I purchased European breakdown cover as I planned to visit different areas in EU for some business trip and pleasure. Whilst visiting south France on a short trip my car broke down on the toll road on 23rd August. It was a self diagnosed blown turbo on a BMW so little chance of having a roadside repair. The police organised recovery from toll rd to a safe garage which was great service but the rest was a total nightmare. Green flag U.K. contract out to a EU company called Opteven so you have to deal directly with them for assistance. When calling the average on hold time before answer was 40 minutes, then the assistance on the phone was vague. We were instructed to book a hotel to stay in overnight until they update us, suggesting they need to diagnose the fault. I explained my vehicle was in the middle of France miles away from Any BMW specialist so diagnosis on a major engine fault may be a challenge especially as my vehicle was dropped off at a Renault garage. So one hotel night later and after no response from optevan I called and waited again. Once I got through I said I will organise a hire car and make our way back to Calais and I would like my car repatriated back to U.K. to be diagnosed and repaired there as I had no idea how many days or weeks we would have to wait for a repair to be done in France. They agreed and after some hassle Optevan hired us a car and I covered the 150 Euro taxi to get the the hire company. I then asked if Optevan could hire a car for me from Dover so we can get back to our home address in the U.K. and they said they would work on that for us. So after me booking a hotel and again covering the cost plus paying extra for the ferry trip home, I also has to hire the car at Dover as I heard nothing from Optevan or GreenFlag U.K. I then try and claim Back the money paid and I am informed that I need to fill out forms and send to Direct lime, now dealing with three separate companies. After all this Amd many phone calls later to chase up when my vehicle will return to the U.K. so I can get it repaired it fixed ally arrived at the garage on the 11th October. Yes that’s correct, 50 days later from the day of our break down in France. Optevan seemed to think this timescale was fine. So I had to hire a car for 49 days in U.K. and GreenFlag would only cover 1 day cost to get back to my U.K. address. So although GreenFlag have a good name and I believe give great service for U.K. breakdowns, from my experience I highly recommend never ever using them for EU breakdown cover unless you have a large bank account. Pay more and get better cover with a company that cares.

I broke down today 30/9/2022with engine failure, Green flag were great they were with me in 40minutes got the car going and followed me to the dealership for a loan are. My gratefull thanks to Peter from Dorchester the engineer from Green Flag for all his help to get me mobile.

Clutch went in my car. Prompt pick up by beacon and transfer to home on the Sunday. Today picked up again and taken to my chosen repair garage. Pleasant and efficient service

I broke down on the 18th aug.with a non m.o.t.fault .rang the control who refused to attend as my m.o.t. had ran out 2 days previous.i was stranded and they refused come out.imagine your a single girl stranded on the motorway at night and your m.o.t.had run out that day they would refuse to help you.i called out a private breakdown company who turned up in 20 mins.but at a cost.the control just keep quoting ts & cs which is not helpful when your stuck in the middle of nowhere. if your thinking of joining green flag " dont "".even the police give you 14 days to get your m.o.t.done. it's a dereliction of duty of green flag to leave people stranded.

Simon came out to me twice in Reading once at home and once at Tesco Petrol Station where car had broken down. He made me feel calm and pushed my car to the side and changed my battery. He kept me well informed and I can't thank him enough for the good job he did.

I wish there was a minus one star On a weekend if your motorcycle gets puncture and if you have Green Flag breakdown you do not expect anything They said they need a tow truck to take the motorcycle to garage and fix puncture I thought the whole point of breakdown service to inspect and try to fix simple puncture on site then recommend to go garage if not possible Please do not use green flag as they have staff without any supervisor and the staff both breakdown team or customer service have basic knowledge how to provide service This is not breakdown company it’s a fraud in name of company Please don’t buy policy use AAA OR RAC MY POLICY NUMBER 2977181201 Date of experience: 10 September 2022

Customer service was second to none. The problem was dealt with quickly and efficiently . Tony from Cambrian arrived as arranged to transport my car to kwikfit. He was so pleasant and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much Tony and Green Flag. Couldn’t fault the service from start to finish.

Broke down when my drive belt snapped,having just arrived at Caravan Club CL.,WHICH OF COURSE MEAENT i HAD'T POWER STEERING OR ALTERNATER CHARGING.Phoned GF,and the operater was only interested in recovery,aasking which garage did I want the car recovering to.Not being local to the area of Gt.Yarmouth,I had no idea.Iphoned again,and spoke to a very helpful lady,who googled ad gave me some phone numbers to ring in the morning to arrange for the car to be recoveed to them.Rang GF again,told them where I was,just outsid e of Gt Yarmouth.They agreed to send a recovery truck to pick up the car.texrted me to say the vehicle would be with me at 10.24am. Iwaited by the roadside until 12.00 midday.NO TRUCK. RANG GF AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THE DRIVER COULDN'T FIND ME.I was then told that as they had sent a vehicle,that a further vehicle would cost me £150.After several more phone calls and failed promises to call me back,I was told that GF had sent the first recovery truck to ABERGELE in WALES.(Remember I was just outside of Gt Yarmouth in Norfolk) LITTLE WONDER THE DRIVER OF THE FIRST VEHICLE COULDN'T FIND ME. Another free recovery vehicle was booked,which duly arrived on time. I rang and complained about experience,and was finally offerred £30 IN COMPENSATION.IT IS STILL NOT IN MY BANK ACCOUNT. Was broken down end of m69 slip road, called for recovery and I was told all I could have would be a tow to a garage of my choice BUT ONLY within a 10-mile radius! At just before 5 pm halfway between my destination and my start point I had no clue as to where a garage might be and what will be open and so explained this saying that I understood that my car recovery covered being recovered to the site of the recovery repairers own garage on a 24-hour basi. I was told it wasn't true, and it was explained that if I wanted to be recovered home it would cost me between £500 and £800 but if I didn't want that and couldn't give a garage within the 10 miles then she said she'd been on the phone long enough and she was finished with me and I should only call back when I know what to do! I was completely distraught I was still on the motorway at the slip road before the roundabout and I was on the point of just calling the police! But then I put all the water and oil I had in my car and risked driving very slowly with hazard lights on around the corner and luckily there was an Esso garage. At this point I went on the app to make a complaint and found I could call for the recovery by the app and amazingly it was accepted ! eventually the technician arrived and did fix the problem which the person on the phone was adamant couldn't be done and I was able to slowly go away but by now I'd also already driven my car after it overheated and was adding a risk of it being damaged further. ( today I'm having it checked over for any damage to seals and everything else potentially caused by my drive both after I'd actually driven off and my return) I then got through to them to complain and read out the policy document paragraph to the person at the other end of the phone and he disagreed with what it clearly stated ! " I would be recovered to a repair irrespective of the distance and will be taken home ifthat couldn't be done as long as it wasn't any further than that distance. There was" no minimum 10 miles unless I myself preferred to! none of this was offered to me on the original phone call and I lodged a complaint but this was absolutely disgraceful. Company should be stripped of any allowances to carry out recovery, they should be with the company should be taken off the system nobody should use this company it should be - 5 Stars

On 14/8/2022 I was returning from Kings Lynn to Nottiingham when the warning light in my car informed me that the coolant level was low and that it must be topped up. I could get no help from the Esso Service Station at Bicker Bar so I 'phoned Green Flag, I am partially deaf and it can be very difficult for anyone to converse with me ,but the gentleman at Green Flag had limitless patience and told me he would have a technician with me in 50 minutes he was there in 45. After a thorough inspection he was able to assure me that it was a sensor malfunction and that I could safely continue my journey. I would like to say that I am grateful both for the swift response in answering the 'phone and attending my breakdown.

Took them 7hrs to get to us. Only for them to send only road side assistance when we have total gearbox failure in a automatic car.So again had to wait for another truck to take us. Police assistance was needed earlier as we had broken down on a very dangerous junction to get us to safety. They kept changing our times. They only responded to one phone call never got back to us with the second We are elderly in extreme heat, ran out of water no food nowhere to go. Er was in the middle of nowhere In total 12hrs they only took car to garage and we had to get ourselves home but at 3am no buses no trains. One of our friends had to drive and get us. Never again will we use this company. Just grateful we didn’t have our young grandchildren with us. Today we both feel very unwell! Only good point was the first driver refused to sign off and leave us until the other driver came. Even they had trouble getting through to green flag! We was 47miles from home!

Drive belt broke,so no power sterring or other services powered by the belt.Was tod at 8'30 pm we'll recover to a garage of your choiceby Amy.Not knowing any garages in the area of Great Yarmouth didn't help.Phoned again and a very helpful lady gave me some phone numbers to call the following morning to arrage for my car to be taken ther by a recovery vehicle. The recovery was arranged for 10.25.By 12'oclock midday no vehicle had arrived.I called Green Flag again,and was told"they couldn't find me,and to send another recovery truck would cost me £150.I argued that no recovery vehicle had arrived.After several more phone calls,I was told the the recovery vehicle had be sent o Abergele in Wales.Remember I had been given given phone numbers for recovery in GREAT YARMOUTH ,NORFOLK,where I was broken down.NOT ABERGELE,WALES. Eventually a recovery vehicle arrived at around 1.30 pm.5 HOURS AFTER MY ealier morning call.I pay extra for Premium Insurance with Green Flag

5hrs for recovery on the M4! Friday 12pm.. clutch went on the car.. called green flag from the hard shoulder was told to expect recovery at 1:50pm.. that company called and said 20min at 1.20pm.. then got a message 4pm recovery. Called back and said that is the best that they can do even tho we were stuck on the hard shoulder with a small child, diabetic then had 4 different messages from 4 different companies with different times and different locations for us.. we suddenly started getting messages from companies in London that was going to recover us.. but we're in Wales?!? Finally got told we will get recovery about 5:30pm!! Shocking customer service.. won't be subscribing to green flag ever again!!!

Car wouldn’t start, their app didn’t work - I called and spent 52 minutes on the phone before they could establish that yes, I did have a current policy with them, let alone think about sending out help. The call staff seemed poorly trained and disinterested: there was giggling and messing around in the background, I kept being put on hold or forwarded to someone who made little more progress than the previous person. I’m so grateful I was at home and not in trouble on the hard-shoulder somewhere with no charge on my phone. Will never trust Green Flag again - absolutely dreadful.

I called for assistance yesterday at 2pm as I was at home I wasn't in a great rush so agreed with the call centre and slot between 4:30-6:30 2 mins before 6:30 I got a call to say they were running late and they would aim to be with me at 8pm no help arrived so I called and was told they would be there by 9 pm at 9:20 I called again. Again to be told we are very busy. I then had a call from the garage assigned to me who told me they were on the way. We are sorry for the delay. Eventually the help arrived at 10:40 pm. So I from 2pm when I 1st logged the call to 10:40 pm that's beyond a joke. What rubbish service. Then to be told I needed a new battery and we don't carry spares. If they had been earlier I might of had some hope of getting a battery or arranging another form of transport for this morning. I had explained when I 1st called I needed the car in the morning for a medical appointment for my elderly parent.
