I STRONGLY ADVISE against using Green Motion car rental services! I booked a car with a required prepayment, prepared all the necessary documents, and arrived at the branch on the scheduled day to pick up the vehicle. Despite meeting all the stated requirements, they refused to hand over the car, citing a small loophole in the terms and conditions—something that was never clearly communicated and is very easy to miss during the booking process. The staff was extremely rude, dismissive, and made no effort to help or even explain the situation. They simply told me to leave, as if I were an unwelcome guest. I felt humiliated and disrespected, even though I had done everything by the book. Let me add that I’ve rented cars many times in various countries and I’ve never encountered such an absurd and unprofessional situation. Every other company I’ve dealt with was transparent and fair—until now. Worst of all, my several-day holiday in Cornwall was completely ruined—I had no way of getting there without the car, and everything had been planned around the rental. I lost money, time, peace of mind, and my vacation because of a company that thrives on vague policies and has zero regard for its customers. Avoid Green Motion at all costs – this is by far the worst car rental experience I’ve ever had!

The car rental is 10 minutes away from the airport. They don’t give us the car if we don’t pay for the insurance. And they don’t give us back the 100$ deposit, even though we called 3 times and each time they say either tomorrow, or today.

I was asked to pay a £1,500 deposit forcing me to pay excess cover. It ruined my holiday. They are holding my deposit of £400 for 28 days meaning I have no money for this month. I was crying my eyes out and was just ignored by staff.

Unlike most car rentals companies which use credit card per-authorisation for the deposit, GreenMotion actually deducts the money from your account. I have been waiting 30 days for my payment to be returned. They company say they return the deposit within 30 days but this is not included in the rental agreement of included in the term and conditions displayed when booking via booking.com. Keeping the deposit is very lucrative for the company.

“I had a very disappointing experience with Green Motion. I booked a car for two days, but they charged me for three. Additionally, when returning the car at their Luton location, the staff spoke to me in a very rude and unprofessional manner. I would not recommend this company.”

Hi, car was ok. Returned without any scratch. But it is 3 weeks and Im still waiting for refund my deposit. I can't use my credit card now. I can't recommend this company

I have still not received back my security deposit of 1505£. Returned the car without any issues 39 days ago. I will soon report it to the police as it seems to be a scam.

I will not be using Green Motion car rental again. I pre-paid for my rental and was met with another large bill upon arrival before I could take the car. This was because, I was told, I went through a 3rd party . Hidden costs, which made it very expensive. The car was fine but, this is not fair behaviour, so I will never use them again.

Auto prawie nowe w bardzo dobrym stanie. Obsługa przy odbiorze bez uwag. Wszystko jasne i czytelne do momentu zdania samochodu. Uzgodniliśmy zdanie samochodu o godzinie 3 w nocy co personal powtarzał dwukrotnie. Jednak w uzgodnionym terminie nikt z personelu się nie pojawił i telefonu również nie odbierali. Pracownik innego biura wskazał miejsce ze skrytkami gdzie zostawiłem klucze od samochodu. Szkoda, że personel mnie o takim rozwiązaniu nie poinformował. Kaucja na koncie była już następnego dnia. Rewelacja.

I have used Green motion and Bristol airport several times over the last few months, always find them to be reasonably priced for the cars. Just booked last weekend and due to a flight delay and being stuck on the tarmac in Bristol for 20 mins, I could only get to their office at about 10 past 8 in the evening. As a result they slapped me with a £36 out of hours fee for being 10 minutes late, despite me calling them 3 times to advise them that I was on my way. There was nothing clear in the booking about this clause. Given the business I have given them recently they clearly do not value customer service or loyalty. Man on the desk could not have been less sympathetic of friendly. Buyer beware, will stay clear of them in the future

The price of car hire was reasonable and fair. The lady meeting us was a very happy and cheerful lady and is a really good ambassador for Green Motion. She was pleasant and had lots to talk about. Great understanding of the English language. The only negative aspect of the hire is that the transfer vehicle was coloured yellow and only had a small Green Motion sticker on its side. (Sounds a bit petty but important for some). This made the vehicle difficult to identify when coming out of the arrivals lounge. It was also parked quite some distance away which made it difficult for someone with walking difficulties. Maybe better & bigger signs would be useful and maybe even using a green coloured van!!!
