Estafadores!

Absolutely scammed as soon as you walk through the door. Hungry for money, dedicated to confusing you and ignorant of anything else but to take full advantage of you particularly if you have children or elderly relatives with you and you have no option but to take the damaged vehicle with all the added penalties they apply even before you drive a vehicle! They are absolutely horrible and they get away with it. I don't understand why the government or the police are allowing these rip off merchants take our money and do whatever they want with it. They don't even provide a service! Avoid this dump. Any Green Motion branch is fully corrupt just walk the other way and find a reputable car hire that cares about you and your experience. Green Motion are rotten to the core riddled with deceit, greed and inconsistent customer care at every opportunity. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves Green Motion.

Rented a car in Rome. Rental lot is offsite so had to call their van driver to pick us up. Our flight home was early on a Sunday morning. No one there with a shuttle to take us back to airport. No one there at all. Left the keys in key drop and used a taxi.

Will never use this firm again total scam artist I went to collect a car which was all prepaid and as soon as I walked in the door trying to get me to upgrade car and when I booked it never stated you can only do 200 miles for the car rental unless you upgrade your package will cut a long story short I paid an extra £250 at desk and I already paid £125 for car upfront for one day I arrived in a different country and felt I had to pay it because I'd a we family waiting on me outside now I look back at this business I fell sick and I'm stupid for going through so be aware of hiring before you go

NEVER RENT ANY CAR FROM THEM!!!! They doesn't deserve a single star!! We rented a car in Tivat with the highest possible insurance with the promise that we would not have to pay anything in case of damage. Unfortunately, someone scratched our car in the parking lot and they took 2300 euros from our card. We haven't seen justice yet, THEY ARE SIMPLY SCAMS!!

This company is a scam!!! Do not give them your custom. Booked a car on carjet.com, wanted to add one more day, Green Motion Edinburgh charged us another 460 pounds when the original fee for 2 days was 100 pounds!!!

The worse experience I've ever had with a car company! My own car had broken down, and so needed to hire one for a couple weekends. The first weekend, I hired a four door economy and when I went to pick up, I was told my car was not available. Instead, I was offered a smaller weak Fiat 500. I was in a hurry, and so I accepted it. The following weekend, I also rented a four door economy, except this time I called the day before to make sure it would be available to avoid any delays. I was told that it would be available. When I went to pick up, it wasn't available and again was offer a smaller weak Fiat 500 which I refused and expressed my frustration given I was given assurance the day before when I had called to confirm. The manager began making excuses which I did not have time for nor were they relevant to me. I asked for a refund so that I could go somewhere else as the exchange got escalated. Ruin my morning, wasted my time and money!

So, to explain this most bizarre and unfortunate incident, I rented a car through Expedia in Edinburgh, Scotland, with a company called Green Motion to take my elderly mother on her bucket list dream trip to the UK where her ancestors are from. I had never heard of Green Motion, but they had a good price (should have been a red flag, I guess). I looked at a few reviews on Expedia, and they looked okay. No place is 100% positive. I went to pick up the vehicle, and the location was well off the airport, which I thought was strange. It’s a trailer in a parking lot, and I got in line to speak to an agent while my disabled, elderly mother waited in the freezing waiting room trailer. I was at the counter for over 45 minutes while the guy continued to badger me about upgrading to their package. I kept saying no, I just want what I already paid for and my credit card has insurance. He continued to give me attitude and veiled threats and make it ultra confusing to get the car. He wouldn’t stop trying to find ways to get me to pay more (I have later found out they get commissions for upsells) and was slowing the process trying to get me to change my mind. Then he said I have to give a 5000 pound deposit because I did not purchase their insurance despite having my own, and there is no way around it. I finally reluctantly agreed as I wanted to get out of there as we had been there so long, and my mother, who has heart problems, I thought might have an anxiety attack from how crazy the whole process was and I have never had any issues with rental cars previously. Also, I had already paid for the rental, and there were no other places to get a car nearby, though now I wish I had just walked away. Then he tells me I have to sit and wait for the car to be ready, though my check-in time was an hour ago at this point. Another hour goes by, and my mother is really stressed out and has to go to the bathroom, and there is no one nearby. I tried to get his attention several times, but he was with other customers and completely ignored me. I finally was able to get another staff member to help and she said she would find out what’s going on. Another 20 minutes pass, and she finally says a car is ready. She walks me to the car and again threatens me that I will have to purchase the car if something goes wrong? These people are crazy. She said to take photos of anything I see wrong with the car so I did my best to look it over from various angles. I saw 2 minor things and photographed them, and she said I had to email them, so I did. Moving forward, I had the car for 10 days without a single issue, no damage, etc. I had dug deeper online about this company after the bizarre pickup and unfortunately found a large number of complaints and issues with fraud and scams. They were apparently even on the news a few times because of this. I read about several instances where, upon drop off, the person who checks the vehicle in goes directly to some obscure spot that would be impossible to see or notice upon pickup and claim damage. Of course, by now, I’m very much regretting not digging deeper into this company before renting. I go to return the vehicle with much apprehension from the difficulty picking it up and from what I have read. It was almost unreal how he did exactly what other people said he did, going directly to an invisible spot on the roof and saying there was damage. I asked him to show me as nothing could be seen. He got out a special paper to reflect the tiny indentation and photographed it. With the paper there, you can see a tiny dent that otherwise is impossible to see. I took photos myself, and nothing can be seen. I said there is no way that happened while I had the car. There were no incidents, and I was never parked under a tree or anything like that. It almost seemed like a dent they would have put there. He refused to believe me and said I had to pay to fix it. They would not let me leave until I signed something, though I tried repeatedly to refuse, and they said they would contact me with an estimate. I wish I had forcibly walked away from this madness, but I had my elderly mother with me, who is also getting dementia, and she was getting confused, upset, anxious, and worked up, so I felt I had no choice but to do so to get her out of there. Now, my anxiety is through the roof, and I was trying not to freak out for my mother’s sake and not to let the trip get ruined as we still had another week to go in Ireland. I kept watching for an email from them and never received anything; then suddenly, a few days later, I see the charge for $6366.08 (the exchange rate for 5000 pounds I guess) I tried to email, but no response. I can’t make an international call on my phone. They charged me without even contacting me (they said they would) for a supposed invisible little dent for that large amount of money. This place is so unbelievable and should not be allowed to operate with as much fraudulent activity as they apparently have. I don’t know what to do now

Have to give 1 star as cannot give zero otherwise I would. They are a scamming car hire company that offers low rates and then tries to extort as much money from you as they can. Please Please Please avoid at all costs especially from the Edinburgh airport branch. You have been warned. Lee

Booked a car online to pick up in Miami airport via Expedia. The location is far away, took 30 min to wait for shuttle. In the office waited 40 min having 2 customers ahead of mine. After spending all that time I found that Green Motion doesn't accept my insurance (via Costco) and I have to get their insurance which brings the rent cost too high. Declined. Asked for refund - got a lot of words why it is impossible to make it now. So I left and was charged full rent cost. Didn't even bother myself to call them after Advice: read all terms ahead of booking. I usually do, but the information critical to me (about the use of personal insurance) was not on a surface. Found it later when I knew what to look for. My failure, I accept it but I wish the service team treat customers better

Is there not an option for negative stars? Truly despicable customer service from the EDINBURGH office, absolutely appalling. Their records did not match the company who we went through to book a car rental, and despite that company telling them live on the phone this, they refused to provide us a car rental or any other solution because their records would take 48+ hours to update. Could see the manager peeking from the office and doing nothing to help, and the reps at the desk were so rude and unhelpful, even kicked us out of the office because they were closing and we aren't true customers - what?!? Now disputing the issue they have lied to the company we booked with saying we weren't even in the office before midnight when their office closed at 10pm and we have phone records proving we were in their office well before they closed and certainly not midnight. AVOID this company like the plague, despicable.

This company’s offices in MUNICH airport are a joke. They have rented two cubicles at the Regus office premise. Furniture: two desks, 5 chairs, a table, a small cabinet and a roll up with the company logo. Staff: Eastern European youngsters who do not speak German and barely get by on English hey operator had to pass the phone to a customer so I could understand how to access the office). Employees totally overworked, overwhelmed and blaming each other, their manager and Owner for their work conditions. Service: it took me 60 minutes to enter the offices as the linguistically challenged person kept telling me to wait for him where I was, when he had time he would come and get me. He was unable to explain the alternative access and a customer helped me. Car: dirty, sticky, with a clutch that acts only in the last 10th of the pedal hub. Brakes scary. Air conditioning non existent. Tires tired. Over-all existing damages consistent. I have recorded all conversations and video recorded the car state before and after in all part just in case. I just don’t trust them! Stay far far away from them, even if they are cheap. You will regret it.

😨 BEWARE of SCAM. Avoid FRAUD! ⚠️⚠️⚠️ Never ever even consider booking with them. They don’t deserve even 1 star! 1. We called their office before making a reservation to ask about a rental car to go from Batumi to Armenia. They said yes, go ahead and book. It will cost an additional $100. We emailed them our passport and ID. We booked via Expedia. 2. As soon as they got our money, they informed us that I need to drive to Tbilisi to get a paper. It’s a 5-hour drive! 3. Then they added that there are areas you can’t even drive because their insurance does not cover the area. Even if GPS takes you there, you can’t drive!! $800 penalty! 4. We asked to cancel the booking, they said they can’t because Expedia needs to cancel. 5. Expedia and we spent nearly three hours with them on the phone, and they refused to cancel. So, we kept the booking. 6. We came to Batumi Airport to get the car, there is no counter! No one there had ever heard of GreenMotion. We called the number we had, and once they heard our name, they hung up! No money, no car. We are dealing with the police, our bank, and Expedia to address it. This is totally wrong 😑

Took our full £1505 deposit for a small chip in the windscreen that had nothing to do with us, if you Google search this company you will find they regularly perform this scam, there is even a Guardian newspaper article about them. Avoid at all costs please don’t get scammed as we have, currently trying to get our deposit back but not hopefull.

*WARNING* PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! IT IS A SCAM!!!!! I rented a (apparently, brand new) Volvo that broke down 30mins down the road. When I called the number provided, I was given the 'run-around', and told to call a breakdown company. I did, and 4 hours later they sent a lorry. When it arrived, they took the car away leaving me on the side of the road, as they said they were unable to assist me further. The office basically left me out to dry, and I ended up with a 200 quid Uber ride to get me where I needed to be. I managed to block the transaction on my credit card, and got a full refund, and as annoying as the whole thing was, as far as I was concerned the matter was closed. Imagine my surprise when I got an email say that "After a full investigation" the car broke down due to "water in the engine", and that somehow I was liable. They then immediately attempted to bill my card nearly TWENTY THOUSAND POUNDS!!! (They were, not surprisingly, unsuccessful). I have since changed my credit card, and blocked any further emails from Green Motion. This is a particularly dirty company, using very greasy business practices. SO, PLEASE AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!...... YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.....
