"BUYER BEWARE! Be careful buying tools from Harbor Freight. They have initiated a ridiculous return policy for defective tool. I bought a Pop Rivet Gun Air Model. It tells you to fill with Hydraulic Fluid. It took 2 people and a vise to open the casing and 30 minutes. Filled it up and closed it. After hooking up the air, it shot the fluid all over my shirt, pants, & part I was working on along with the floor. Not Good. Then I figured out they shorted me the smaller 1\/8\" tip. So when I went to return it, I was told I could only exchange it for another one. so to check it out, the 27 year old manager tried to open the lower filler cap and could not get the cap off another brand new one. I explained that I had been shorted the smaller 1\/8\" tip. We verified that. I asked what was he going to do about the spraying fluid since the gun was identical. I told him I would need to drive 20 minutes back and if it didn't work, then 20 minutes back again each way. By again, even the bottom could not be opened, especially for me at 65 years old. He just shrugged his shoulders. I said I just wanted my money back sine he couldn't supply me a working one. He told me there is now still a 20% restocking fee, even though it can't be restocked. That's $14 of my hard earned money. He would not overwrite that. So I spent over an hour calling corporate only to have them tell me they were going to continue this foolish practice of stealing my money. Then after refusing and asking for a full refund they said they could only give me a gift card for the 20% to go buy more garbage in the store and maybe have another restock fee. I told them if you go to Costco, Walmart, Amazon, etc, they have no questions asked returns, especially when the item is defective and have no alternative. What I want them to answer is \"ARE THEY REALLY GOING TO RESTOCK THIS ITEM EVEN THOUGH IT DON'T WORK? And then sell more of them to some other sucker. I will be returning to the store 1 more time to cancel my membership and get a refund on that. And hopefully not have a 20% restock on that return? I've have been shopping there since they first opened their first stores in California many many years ago. PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE BUYING THINGS FROM HARBOR FREIGHT UNTIL THEY CHANGE THEIR WAYS! I am going to do a charge back for the $14 they stole from me. I will not use that stupid $14 gift card. I'll let Citibank deal with that. Money is tight and I have to work many hours to get that money just for them to steal it. THEY DON'T DESERVE MY BUSINESS OR YOURS.\r\nI have included the receipts for you to see."

“No satisfaction on customer service. requested a call back instead of holding on line and three days later i have yet to receive a call Phone tag on speaking to a human being No one knows nothing I was told we don’t have any replacements parts once i did get thru . They will not stand behind their products sold at retail. After the sale they don’t know you. So i have equipment that does not work and they have no replacement part and no repair shop in the area Quality of product is not very good. As they say , you get what you pay for. What a joke. I renewed warranty and still no good I will not be going back. I will cancel my credit card account with them. Poor customer service and poor cheap tools that don’t hold up for a day”

“I return something a trimmer. Value $32.00. I wanted to return the trimmer because the quality was not good. The string wrapped around the machine 5 times. The MANAGER refused to give me the money or do a exchange. CHECK CASTILLO I HAVE BEEN GOING THERE FOR MORE THAN 10 YEARS AND YOU LOST A VALUABLE CUSTOMER”

“I received the worst customer service at the North Fort Myers, FL location. Store manager was rude and I am a frequent customer. I've been an Inside track customer for years and have their credit card. I'll not be renewing my membership and cancelling my card.”

“I was at the Store on Brainerd Road in Chattanooga and could not get any help with my purchase. So I went to Home Depot got plenty of help and made my purchase. Cost was about $50.00 more but a much better quality product. Very poor customer service at this store. And apparently every time you call and ask for a manager you get another person who says they are the manager. But they can never produce a store general manager.”

“I bought an electric chainsaw often just so I could I have to fight my gasoline one but did they sold me John come replace it three times and this one I'm afraid to use cuz the chains keep flying off the bar and I called the corporate headquarters they're not going to give me any my money back for it they didn't want to give me my money back the first time when it acted up there with the first one you know it was junk but they saw a lot of junk at harbor freight I don't know how they stay in business they're crooks and rip off so don't buy any electrical products that has a chain on it cuz you won't be able to keep the chain on it don't buy a chainsaw off of them”

“In July I bought a gasoline water pump for $899 and accessories for for the pump for $200. I started and ran the pomp for a few minutes the following day. A few days later I tried to start the pump and it froze up. Contacted the store and they gave me an email address to contact. I received no response after a week and sent another email. Sent another email and no reply. I’m done and out $1200.”

“I purchased a Digital Photo Sensor Tach SKU 66632. The photo sensor would read a stationary object as having a speed of over 760 rpm with no way to calibrate it. I returned to the store where it was purchased for an exchange. Before I completed the exchange I wanted to try the new unit in the store to save myself another return trip. All three units on the shelf were also defective as witnesses by the cashier and manager. I was then informed that there would be a 20% restocking fee if I wanted to return the defective item or I could exchange it for one of the other proven defective items. Seriously are these people insane? Sell me trash and then penalize me. Are they going to restock the defective item and sell it to another unsuspecting customer? If not why the restocking fee. I was willing to exchange it for a functional unit but they could not provide one. Then I am penalized for their failure and poor products. In my opinion they probably make more profit from restocking fees than actual sales. They have lost my business forever and I will relay my experience everyone I possibly can.”

“I ordered a cart for my lawn mower and when it got to me the packaging was all beat up and parts were falling out. When I fully opened it, the panels did the cart were all dented. I called in made a complaint. They switched it out but when they delivered the new one, it was the same. Parts of the cart was falling out of the box. I called to complain and the agent made Ms feel like I was scamming them. I’m so upset.”

“I have been a regular customer of harbor freight for over 25 years. My biggest problem is they count floor models as inventory but can't sell the floor model. When you look up what you want it show as in stock but when you get to the store, the only one is the display. I complained to corporate and was told that they know of the problem. If you know about the problem, then fix it! This is a no brainier! All it takes is someone get off their ass and fix the problem. Just dont include displays as inventory. It's not inventory if you are not able to sell it! I kept going in for over a year to get a work cart.”

“.I bought a generator from you because mine broke down o a job site yours didnt work brought it back after having to drain the gas and oil at your request and was charged a restock fee over 200.00 and what a waste of time.Called your customer care and you guys did nothing for.me just a complete waste of time and money.Im being polite as to how I really feel.”

“Stay clear of this store. Bought a bad Portland preasure washer that did not work on day 1. Returned next day. They charged me 20% “restocking” fee. I saw 2 other of same machine being returned. Bad products on top of bad customer service = 1 star.”

“I bought an air compressor from Harbor Freight and a warranty. It did not work and I took it back and they charged me an 80 dollar restocking fee for a defective item never will I buy anything from Harbor Freight”

“If you want one-use throw away tools, get them at harbor freight I bought their "best 20 ton" jack. It failed under less that 3500 pounds. Tried to return it. They said NO it's 120 days old. I'll never buy anything other there again. It's cheap junk”

“I bought a weed whacker, Atlas brand, from harbor freight, reloading the line is impossible, went to store for help, store manager, an over weight lazy lying pos, said all weed eater are like this, would not help to reload the line. He said he had no problem with his same model. The atlas brand SUCKS, so does the Vero Beach manager”
