It is no longer the place it used to be. The quality of visitors and staff has declined dramatically. Whilst Primark and pound shop type visitors will be impressed, you'll be dis-appointed if you're looking for a luxury retail experience.

I made the mistake of purchasing a Cartier ring from Harrods online. When I received it, there were two areas of scratching I noticed, but they were so difficult to see, I wasn't actually that bothered. However, I returned the ring because it was actually too big, intent on ordering another size once my refund was processed. On receipt of my return Harrods wrote to me to say the ring was being sent for brand assessment, then a few days later, they wrote to me to say they were sending the ring back out to me because there were scratches on it and they couldn't resell it. Unfortunately I have no evidence that the scratches existed when I originally received the ring, but nor does Harrods have any evidence that the scratches did not exist when the ring was originally sent to me. All they can say is it went through quality checking and passed. I believe Harrods are being dishonest with me and that they sent me a ring that wasn't fit for sale, but are relying on their big name and processes to veil their misconduct towards me. On top of this, they just ignored my response to their email, and now I have the pleasure of paying a lot of money for a ring which is too big and has scratching on it. This business is behaving like crooked market traders, a mafia. Steer clear and spend your money in-store (but not at Harrods).

I'm shocked at how I've been treated by Harrods but not as shocked as I was just now reading that this happens regularly. I paid £236 for some perfume I had been debating whether to buy for 6 months. Three weeks ago they took my money. They used DPD to get the parcel to me the next day but the quite frankly pathetic box had been broken into and the bottle gone. The box, sleeve and cellophane were there. No bottle. I have rung/emailed Harrods almost daily. They are just fobbing me off.

I wish I could give them zero stars -0… I wish I could give them zero stars -0 stars British accent with subtle antisemitism . Insulant behavior covered by a British accent. With over abundance of apologies that basically synonymous to telling you go F yourself.. never again !! Egregious shopping experience hanging up the phone on you not following up I sent over 50 emails to customer service they don’t reply. Their service is horrible. They made a mistake in my order with the address and refuse to own up to it. Fish always rats from the top never shop With them ever again Very too faced . Kudos to us Americans that we don’t act like that. This is such a hilarious reply the reply on the bottom from Harold’s says . email customer service to tell them about my experience …no specific contact person is mentioned . I’ve emailed them to share my experience with and ask for a refund from them over 50 times and called them as well and the only thing I received in return, is them hanging up the phone on me continuously and by multiple people and denying my refund and taking no accountability for a mistake they made with the address. And refusing my refund.

Awful customer service and experience from Harrods and Cartier. Ordered a ring from Cartier Harrods and it arrived loose In it’s box tried it on and it wouldn’t go over my knuckle. Put it back in box and reordered the next size up. I posted the ring back the next morning and after three weeks waited for a refund. Harrods then informed me that I would not be getting a refund as the ring was scratched. Anyone who has owned high ct polished gold knows as soon as you touch it it will have tiny surface scratches. If this is the case then you shouldn’t except reruns and state this clearly. I now have a ring that is useless can’t resize and Harrods are refusing to do anything. If this is how you treat people because you are a big company and you can get away with it then it is disgusting. A simple polish will remove any tiny marks but no one is willing to help or do anything to resolve this. Thank you Harrods and Cartier for looking after your customers in this way.

Appalling customer service! I’ve sent them several emails about my rewards and all they keep saying there is a technical fault and that they would call me back. Guess what? No calls back! Shame on you Harrods!

My order was cancelled due to Harrod's choice of shipping company and the company's alleged requirement of needing social security number for customs. It took customer service almost an entire week to notify me of the "requirement" and refused request to communicate with a supervisor. I also sent a request for the contact information to department/persons in charge of international shipping to inform them of my concern and inquire about why the information is not displayed on website in section regarding international shipping and never received a reply. Customer service is poor and definitely not what one would expect from a store that advertises its self how this one does. All in all, I ended up ordering directly from the designer's boutique which was very pleasant. Yesterday Harrod's sent me and request to review the purchase and I wrote the above plus an extra sentence about why the item is a good purchase despite having to obtain it elsewhere. I received the following reply from Harrod's "Thanks for leaving a review – unfortunately, it didn’t meet all our website guidelines. We hope to publish your thoughts next time!"- Confirms the poor customer service and lack of transparency.

I received different item, on $1000 chipper than I ordered. I'm shocked! How it can be possible??? This is international delivery. I can't imagine how to create a return and get my $2000 back!

Order # YLTGEQ I ordered a bottle of Rojas Enigma and when it arrived I opened the fragrance box and inside was a bundle of metal bolts wrapped in tape. There was no bottle of parfum. Someone had stolen it and replaced it with weighted hardware bolts. I contacted customer support and sent photos of everything. I haven't heard back. $375 wasted. How can this be legal? Please send me what I paid for.

Balenciaga faulty sneakers sent back for an inspection about which I never had a feedback, and that finally, after a month spent chatting live in vain, were sent back to me without any explanation, with economic shipping. Never again, DON’T BUY ANYTHING at Harrods!

Never again! The worst shopping experience ever. I bought a faulty pair of expensive Balenciaga sneakers, sent them back for inspection, NEVER got an answer to my thousand emails, after a month they sent them back without a feedback. DON’T BUY anything at Harrods!

What went wrong? Your stupid questions when applying for a position as a salesclerk in menswear for a miserable average of 27000 pounds a year. 1] What is FOIS GRAS? Actually. you had it misspelled. It is FOI GRAS no S in FOI. And the proper name for it is PATE DE FOI.... as the French call it. 2] Name three different type of caviars. Doubt very much if any of your applicants even tried caviar on such a small salary. What motivate you? MONEY... MONEY... AND MORE MONEY... and your company is not a place to make it unless you own it. And the list goes on......

Good afternoon another customer duke by this company. I ordered three bottles of perfume I was sent the wrong one I re-ordered the correct one and attempted to return the wrong one. I never open the box is still in plastic they asked me to take a picture but you keep upload a picture to their email. No live customer service representative to talk to the chat agents are useless and clueless. I spent over $2000 with this company and I felt like I was treated like a peasant. I advise anyone who’s even pondering ordering something from this company to steer clear away.

My husband bought a bottle of champagne dom perriogn 2012 for my birthday on the 28th online shop shows a box When arrived it was just in a cardboard box I phoned Customer service yesterday started at 2 50 pm Took twenty minutes before answered started to explain Then hung up this happened three times finally actually spoke To someone at nearly four o clock and finally told it comes from a warehouse so no box couldn’t say if they had one special bottles of champagne I keep bottles and box cork this is a special birthday so am upse About the whole experience . The only good thing delivery was Quick so no vintage champagne 🙁

Emailed Customer service. About the wrong perfume they gave us. But it's just BS no one cares. They gave my daughter the wrong perfume in the box. I emailed them several times and sent the receipt to the email address as requested. No one got back to me.

bad customer service. returned thanktem a day after i got it. took them months to review and inspect the saynit was used or matetials have marks and then say it was damaged or the parts were replaced. been calling everyday and no response. doesnt refund your money even if the product sent is old and sticky that is why i returned it. never will i purchase here again. nad company

I ordered a pair of heels from online and returned it via DHL. I purchased the shoes and they arrived to me in a box with ripped up tissue paper and there were scuffs and wear signs on the bottom of the heels. I return them and harrods then emails me saying they can’t accept the return because I’ve “worn” the shoes when it came to me like that! I even recorded myself UNBOXING it so they could see that the wear marks were there when i first opened it. They won’t accept my return. the shoes don’t even fit either so i can’t do anything with it. Do not buy shoes from them.

I paid for a 100% cashmere item and they sent me a 100% wool item. I tried to contact support and am now on day 3 without a reply. Completely unprofessional and a huge amount of trust is lost for Harrods now. I will never shop here again after this experience
