“The only problem I have is that the hemp seeds may contain gluten and that what was not written anywhere on the website. I am unable to tolerate gluten so will not be buying the product again.”

Our seeds are gluten-free! However, they are packaged in a facility that also processes gluten so may contain traces of gluten due to the manufacturing process. It is a trace element allergen warning only.

Our previous ‘green’ oil was pressed from the whole seed, which gave it a greener colour and earthy taste. Our new Hemp Gold oil is pressed from de-hulled seed. This gives the oil a clearer appearance and more neutral taste. Our customers usually find it has more versatility of use.

“I was looking for a company that makes Australian Organic Hemp Products, yet understand this is still a developing industry in AU. I was confident enough in Hemp Foods Australia's farming practices to choose AU hemp seeds as they seem to be grown cleanly without the organic status yet. Also the company is trying to grow more AU hemp, but I went for the imported organic hemp gold protein, my only concern being the country of origin was not specified so I am hoping Canada because I really try to avoid buying products from China.”

As an Australian Certified Organic (ACO) company, we're committed to sourcing only the best quality ingredients. We import most of our seed from approved Certified Organic suppliers from around the world, as there is very little Certified Organic Seed available in Australia due to it being such a new industry. If you would like to purchase Australian Grown Seed, we do offer ‘Conventionally Grown Seed’ sourced from Tasmania and hope to expand this range going forward.
