“The D1000 is a great lock for my bike, it fits nicely around the frame. It is really very heavy, too much to sling in a backpack, so I’ve been using a pannier bag - which itself is big and cumbersome when not in use. I bought the BR1000 and secured the D1000 to the pannier frame no problem at all. The small rubber stickers help to eliminate vibrations and rattles.
I’m really very pleased with this setup now!”
“Great bit if kit. Not the cheapest around but for the piece of mind if your bike still being there when you have to leave it is well worth it. Could not tell you how effective it actually is, and i do not fancy having that experience. Delivery was really quick as well.”
“I recently purchased two Hiplock Original Chain locks with the Superbrighr sheath. These are high quality units and weigh about 4 pounds.
I haven’t used them yet but I think that they are perfect for what I have in mind for them.
I think that these are very useful for locking my wife’s bike to mine around a secure object where medium security is needed. I’ve got much heavier duty chains but they are larger and very heavy. I also have the Hiplock D1000 locks for both my wife’s and my bike so I think that this is a really awesome package. The only thing better is if there’s not bad people around at all that necessitate locking the bikes up whatsoever.
I know that sometimes it’s tempting to just dash in for a coffee and you might be safe but it’s not worth the risk even for an old beater bike especially if you don’t want to walk back home without it”

“This glorified ziplock works as advertised, though it is a little scary and cranky. One should practice with it before using it to lock something up. Also, woe be unto you if you misplace the key. I suspect it would take a bolt cutter to cut it off.”

“I bought the hiplok gold. The belt/locking mechanism, while clever, doesn’t allow for a very tight fit and often times the chain slides down over my hips making cycling challenging. The chain itself is fine but too short. It’s nearly as difficult finding a place where it will fit as a d lock. All in all, ok, but not great for the cost.”
