“The delivery and ease of using the website was great, added bonus to get a discount at the checkout for some of the mini anchors was definitely a good sweetener. The anchors work great and were simple to install obviously they haven’t been tested against scum bags and I hope it never will but at least they add to the security. The wheels mounts are good but I do find with the large volume MTB tyres we have if the bikes are knocked at all they pull out a bit to easily, so thinking we might need to get something to tie them into the mounts as well which is another cost but the bikes are my pride and joy so they’re worth it.”
“It's easy to carry the hiplok. After a few experimentations with tightness, I've found that the lock becomes quite light around my hips. It makes it much faster to get on and off my bike. This has made my daily commute much more convenient. It doesn't look like anyone has tried to steal my bike since I started using it, so it seems to be an effect theft deterrent for where I live. I'm skeptical about the durability of the plastic clip. I imagine the plastic will become brittle in 15-20 years, since that's been my experience with other objects made of similar material. I know I have a high standard for durability, so it doesn't effect the good review I'm leaving. However, I figure I'll mention it because it contributed to my hesitation to purchase the hiplok.”
“I bought this lock after having my previous bicycle stolen the first time I parked it at my university, although safely locked with two locks to a sturdy structure in a crowded area. For necessity I've had to park my new bike to the same spot, of course not without any fear, but with the D1000 I haven't had any problem so far, and it has been more than a month. I think there's nothing safer than locking your bike with this in a busy area.”
“I ordered the Airlok fixing kit with 4 plugs and screws. It took more than 2 weeks for my order to arrive. It finally arrived, and there was only 1 screw in the package instead of 4. What am I supposed to do with only 1 screw?”
“I got my order on time. I ordered two of the Z Lok Combo’s. One works great the other not at all. It’s jammed and won’t budge. I love the one that works but think I should have two that work because that’s what I paid for. I saw this was a problem with other customers but I didn’t listen because I really wanted the product to work. I reached out for help and got no response back.”
“Excellent product but sadly no use as I bought it for my motorbike and it isn’t big enough to do anything but fit around the wheel spokes. I was hoping it would go over the swinging arm and wheel spokes so not really big enough for motorbikes. I see your reply but I have a lock and case that cost £279. Telling me you have taken on board my review and are making a larger one doesn’t really help as I have a lock that is no use to me.”
“So I've been using your product for a good couple of months and man I'm surprised when I first got this on how thick this lock is! Before I bought this product I've looked up all of the youtubers who broke this lock and I was surprised on how tough this lock is. Since then it's been nothing more than a peace of mind knowing that this lock is keeping those annoying POS thieves from stealing my ebike!”
“Hiplock make well above average bike security equipment, but one is in an arms race with the thieves. The D1000 lock is by far the robust lock, but it is heavy and fairly bulky, but probably the best way to ensure your bike is there, when you return. My beef is with the Insurance companies, the bike manufacturers and the Police who could all collaborate to do more to reduce bike theft. My last bike (as many of yours will be), was stolen by a professional, well at least somebody who makes their living from stealing bikes. The thieves were caught on CCTV, in Central London at the junction of a main road, who got out of their backpack a cordless angle grinder, to quickly 'liberate' my bike. It only takes 30-40 seconds. The bike which had a tracker went from Holborn, to Enfield to Cardiff and then two address in Birmingham. The organised crime gangs are clearly being allowed to get away with it. Had I had my new D1000 lock on the bike, it probably would not have been stolen, but anything less than the Sold Secure diamond level protection is pretty easy to steal, sadly.”
“Product has a great quality and it really protecta your bike. DX D-Lock is not too heavy, therefore you can bring it in your backpack, but DL chain is heavy as hell. DL can only be used at home, you won’t bring it with you I can assure. Both has a high safety and quality, can resist almost any kind of attack.”
