“This "joke" that want's to be called "a company" was unfortunately being used by our Estate Agent for reference checks for both myself and my partner who were looking at renting a new property.
We Both provided all necessary papers (payslips , bank statements etc etc) to our Estate Agent alongside with a completely filled "Homelet application" with ALL our details and every possible paperwork we've being asked
Also WE BOTH DID put a CHECKMARK in the SMALL BOX in their leaflet that was clearly stating that "WE DON'T WANT TO BE CONTACTED FOR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES" by them.
1st) We've being asked by them through e-mail to provide AGAIN the paperwork although our Estate Agent forward correctly all our details to them.
2nd AND MOST IMPORTANT!
Myself and my partner are being literally BOMBARDED with emails (2 to 4 per day) , text messages and calls asking us if we want these services! (if you don't answer their call the will leave a voicemail message!)
TOTALLY DISGUSTING !
I bet that people that are working there they DON't have the slightest idea of what they're doing, and DEFINITELY NO IDEA about ANY GDPR rules !
AVOID AT ANY COST!”
“Trying to fill out their online forms for a rental reference, so far I've tried on android, chrome, firefox, opera and edge but on all the web interface won't allow me to upload files or documents to support my application and the forms forget information even when closed using the saved option. I guess I will not be moving house after all.”
“They bombard you with emails and texts even when you ask them to stop and unsubscribe from their website etc.
They also called me up to 6 times a day and left multiple voice messages.
The one time I did answer the guy wouldn't take no for an answer when I said I didn't want to buy insurance for the property. He kept trying to get me to sign up for a 12 month insurance deal when my tenancy was only 6 months. Had to hang up on him mid sentence in the end.”
“ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH!!
I wasted almost 1 month and at the end they did not complete the referencing. It was the agency which at the end completed it. The online form is completely useless. I had to upload the same information 3 times. They did not even call 3 important entities for my referencing. I felt completely frustrated!! PLEASEEEEE DO NOT EVEN TRY WITH THESE PEOPLE.”
“PLEASE DON'T USE HOMELET to reference your future tenants. Use Goodlord or something else!
Their website is unusable and buggy. I'm a tenant trying to complete referencing by filling out homelet's online form, but it randomly crashes and times out when you click the next button. Also every time you log back in, it forgets information that you already filled in, like postcodes. I tried it on different computers, but same result. I've completed a lot of referencing in the past few years and Homelet's is the worst. Also make sure you don't open your homelet tenancy application page from your phone's email browser or else your login gets corrupted and you won't be able to log back in ever again. They do mention this somewhere in their long email that they send when they invite you to fill out the form, but I doubt anyone reads the whole thing. If you're an estate agency”
“TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!
I could not move in to the property because personnel at Homelet have completely no background in accounting and financial documents.
They do not simply understand what purpose document has, what is proves.
They do not accept official HMRC documents, poor communication internally and ability to make solid judgement.
Lacking of understanding the purpose of financial statements also as being able to do basic calculations (simple math).
It is just simply terrible.
Please AVOID.

“Charged 4x The Market Rate
I recently received my policy for an annual premium of £800 pounds. The price seemed very high and the cover was minimal only covering rebuild.
This quote is from Garry at insurance-suite.com
Annual Premium £200.32
Buildings £140,000 inc Accidental Damage
Property Owners Liability £5 million
Landlords Contents £10,000 – covers carpets etc
Legal Expenses - £100,000
Loss of Rent / Alternative Accommodation Cover included.
My trust in HomeLet was badly misplaced. Of course, I canceled with them.”
“Disgusting.
Because of this poorly ran company who seem incapable of communicating, my move-in date has been delayed.
They don't even answer their emails, send emails and texts to the wrong person, don't ask for the right documents at the start, then ask for extra upon extra documents. Upon calling them the woman said that I needed to speak to the letting agent, refused to deal with my request to process the documents before my original move-in date, and put me on hold for 10 minutes until I hung up. Waste of phone credit!”
