“Interesting properties and comfortable way to bids on an auction. The 15 minutes rule could potentially skyrocket the bids to the sky. It’s mechanism should be reviewed and adjusted. In addition, there should be a mandatory non refundable deposit to exclude people who distrupt the action. If the auction winner walkes away the deposit forfeited.”

The 15 minute rule is designed to prevent the practice of placing a bid at the last moment in hopes of being the selected bidder. While we understand your concern about skyrocketing bids, we believe that extending auction by 15 minutes allows interested buyers a fair opportunity to place a bid without the stress of bidding against the clock. With regards to your suggestion about a mandatory deposit, Hubzu has begun to implement a bid Deposit Program. At this time a bid deposit is required for selected states with plans to expand the program to more states. “My husband and I have rentals and this was our first Hubzu house. We were a sceptial about buying such a large purchase online and I expressed that to them and they called me immediately. They have great coustomer service and was seriously was the easiest and best home buying transaction we have ever dealt with!!!”

“too many fake bidders. The same homes come up for bid over and over again because fake bidders win and then back out. It is a big waste of time to bid on this website.”

Hubzu does not allow or endorse shill bidding on behalf of it sellers. We have established protocols to address and prevent improper bidding activity. Users who engage in this type of behavior repeatedly are subject to having their bidding priviledges supsended. Additionally, we work diligently at proactively engaging suspicious bidding or any behavior that would negativiely affect our auction integrity.
