“Good service, delivery and fitment. Improved window insulation as hoped for. One comment, the protective material on both sides was tough to remove; had to peel back the material in small increments to avoid excessive pressure and bending of the insert.”

“Insert fits perfectly and the transparent part is clear to the point of being nearly invisible. The insert is a bit heavy (which is to be expected given the size of my window) and inserting it does take a bit of time and patience, which would be annoying if I'd want to frequently remove it in order to e.g. open a window, but luckily that is not the case for where I installed the inset. The main downsides are that it took a long time to receive the panel after I ordered it (making me hesitant to order a second one, even though I do have a second window that could use one) and they are not particularly cheap.”

Thank you especially for mentioning the fit and the "nearly invisible" quality of the optical-grade acrylic we use. Large inserts can be a bit challenging to maneuver by one person. We do recommend an extra hand for inserts above a certain size. While we now are seeing some easing in the supply issues and have begun to adjust lead times down accordingly, we understand that delays had a great impact on our customers. We certainly appreciate your patience and would be happy to get the other insert ordered for you when you are ready. We understand that our products are a considered purchase, but as you have helped highlight here, they are a great option, built for lasting performance and continued return on investment over the years. “My inserts are for casement windows. We can't believe what a difference they make! Wonderful product. Easy installation. Which there was a strong screen version that could keep my pets in and let me open the casement windows in the summer.”

“I live in NYC and the windows in mothers apartment I rent are very low quality, so I could hear noise (even though I’m on a quiet street) and there was a big temperature difference on cold days in my bedroom vs the rest of the house. I ordered some Indows and even though I was hesitant because of the time they would take to manufacture and the cost, I couldn’t be happier with the decision! They came earlier than expected, they were super easy to install, they isolate the noise and the cold and my sleep quality has dramatically improved. The investment was well worth it!”

“Although I received the acoustic quality of inserts, I would rate the effectiveness at about 2.5. It does seem to somewhat muffle the noise level of normal conversation but not to the level of satisfaction considering the amount I paid and the length of time I waited. I did follow the installation instructions and video very closely. I am impressed with the insulating qualities and the fit to each window. The secure shipping was impressive and appreciated but wasn't happy that there was no assistance offered by the deliverer to bring the huge parcel inside, acting on your instructions, the driver claimed. I did see on the video that other customers were hauling in the parcel in themselves and I think you should make this clear that it is a requirement you are alone as far as bringing in the delivery yourself so you can arrange for help or plan on opening the parcel and bringing in the Indows piece by piece.”

Michael, Thanks for the feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are not experiencing the sound reduction performance that you were expecting. All sound situations are indeed unique. Sometimes, due to sound entering through other areas than the window openings, further soundproofing techniques are necessary to reduce the sound. We are, of course, willing to troubleshoot with you to ensure that the noise reduction properties of the inserts are maximized. We understand that the extended lead times caused by unprecedented supply chain issues have had an impact on customers. While we now have begun to see optimistic indicators in the supply chain, customers who ordered during a certain period experienced greater delays. Throughout, we have remained committed to communicating those delays through frequent updates to our customers. While we include detailed information about the delivery service in our shipping emails and other communications, we acknowledge that certain aspects of the shipping process can present challenges. As always, we will use your feedback to help us continue to improve. Thank you for mentioning the build quality, accurate fit, and insulating qualities of our inserts. We take great pride in our craftsmanship and accurate measuring process.

“The corners on all of the inserts do not fit correctly into the window frame. They are all smooshed together and do not seal as pictured or as expected.”

“Pretty pleased with the inserts overall. We guestimate that road noise levels have been reduced in our bedroom by about 50%. Installation was super easy. The only bummer was the lead time. I think we waited about 4 months from the time we ordered to product delivery. Overall, happy with the product & this company does have really good customer service.”

“My home office overlooks a high school parking lot, so marching band practices, thumping car stereos, after-hours burnouts, and newly-licensed drivers honking their horns are a part of daily life. As part of a more comprehensive soundproofing strategy, another acoustic solutions company referred me to this product. The process of measuring and ordering was very easy, and I felt confident knowing that the process would yield a perfect fit. Indow did a great job communicating regarding delays related to the global supply chain, and it was worth the wait. The insert doesn't cancel out everything, but it's a significant improvement and I would 100% recommend the product.”

“Finished installing new Indow inserts about a month ago in our circa 1906 single pane, double hung windows. I was concermed about the outside rim making our already busy trim work look too thick, but it blends in fine and I barely notice it. We already see a noticeable difference in heat retention and noise abatement. Also, kudos to Indow team for excellent measurement instruction kit. It was very informative with clear instructions. More labor intensive but less guesswork than ordering mini blinds! 100% happy with our purchase and highly recommend, especially for older homes.”

“I thought the Indows would block more of the noise since it's advertised as 70% noise reduction. After having several days with the inserts I'd say the noise level has been reduced only by about 25%.”

Sandy, Thanks for the feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are not experiencing the noise reduction you expected. It is true that, based upon independent tests, our tests have been proven to reduce 50%-70% over single-pane windows alone. However, all sound environments are indeed different as are the different sounds/sound frequencies each customer is wishing to mitigate. Variables such as construction materials in walls can make the sound issue more complicated, with sounds entering through areas other than the windows. We are happy to assist in troubleshooting your inserts to ensure they are fitting properly and that you are maximizing their noise reduction properties. If you are indeed looking for further noise reduction, other soundproofing methods that address areas other than the window openings may be necessary.

“I priced one window and the quote was $1,135.00 for the insert. The window size was 71 1/8" x 47 1/4". The window is new and a triple pane window and cost less than the insert. I wanted the insert because I live in a high wind area. I thought the inserts were supposed to be less than replacing a window. While they may have a good product, the cost was not affordable. I checked with another company that has a similar product and the quote was $40.00 for the same size window.”

Norm, Thanks for reaching out. Just to be clear, the estimate you speak of is for our acoustic grade inserts which are designed to maximize noise reduction. Our standard grade inserts, which provide the same energy savings, but are not maximized for sound mitigation, are considerably less. Also, this estimate includes the handling fee for an oversize insert. When comparing our inserts versus replacement windows, one thing that is often overlooked is the cost of installation. Our inserts have zero installation costs, as they are quickly and easily self-installed without the need for additional prep work or hardware. While it is true that there are similar products out there at lesser price points, they are not truly comparable in terms of materials, design, durability, craftsmanship, and performance. Many of our customers are those that have tried other solutions and returned to us for a more effective, durable, and proven solution.
