“These window inserts have solved so many of the problems with old houses and gorgeous old windows. It seals in the cool air (critical in Florida) and seals out the dust and noise from the park across the street. WOW!”

“Indow was very easy to work with. For having found them on the Internet using a Google search, and given how much the inserts cost, I was nervous, to say the least. Turns out to be a respectable U.S. manufacturer following stringent repeatable process, very responsive to customer questions, leveraging technology in extremely effective ways to make the measuring and purchase process as seamless (or gap-free, I should say) as possible, and providing a high-quality product that truly delivers on its promise. In my case, the goal was to reduce road noise, and the inserts did not disappoint. Bit of a manufacturing lag, but I would say that is probably a happiness problem for the company. Nowhere near as long as it takes, say, Rivian to deliver a car after you order from them.”

Second, we certainly appreciate you mentioning the service and process successes you experienced. We are committed to providing informative and effective service from first engagement forward. It is always great to hear that our efforts are recognized. Regarding the timeline in manufacturing, we recognize that we have not been able to return to pre-pandemic levels, but we are doing everything we can to get back there and beyond in terms of lead times. We now stand at 5-6 weeks from order date. We count this as quite an accomplishment due to the periodic and sustained interruptions in supply chain and staffing during this period. The state of delivery services (especially freight) has certainly provided great challenges in getting things out to our customers in a timely manner. While we do not have direct control over those logistical aspects, we are continuing to find ways to work with shipping partners to decrease delivery times. While we appreciate your level of understanding, we also look forward to improved conditions that will not require it of our customers. Thanks again for the feedback.

“These window inserts absolutely block the drafts from my old windows. They also reduce noise and they look nice when I notice them at all. Some of the panels I bought are quite large and they recommend two people to work with them, but they have a clever design that was fun to work with and I got it. I am glad I bought these.”

“Indow was very easy to work with. We had a great rep who was able to answer any questions we couldn't figure out on our own by looking at their website or the materials they sent to us. They have made a difference in our rooms' temperatures and really proved themselves when we had the house power washed, and loads of water and gunk got caught between the outside windows and the Indows! A real testament to their insulating power. My only objection is that the color choices are limited and we have some funky-colored windows.”

We have explored options in the past and will continue to do so until we can find a feasible option to add other colors. “Our experience with Indow was entirely positive. The product was clearly and accurately described. After looking at information on the web we had a few questions about the products and process, but these were answered by the customer service representative. The measuring kit and procedure were clear and easy to follow. There was excellent attention from Indow throughout. The inserts arrived within the schedule that was described, and the fit on all eight windows was perfect. I'm impressed that Indow seems to have made the process as fool-proof as possible.”

“I bought it with high hopes to eliminate the outside noise issue that plagues me from working effectively from home and it only muffles the sound. The Indow videos from influencers and the website looked like a miracle but ultimately I should've known it was too good to be true.”

“We live near a busy street and the noise from cars passing by has been reduced but not as much as I would have hoped. For the price and time we had to wait, in my opinion, it’s not worth it.”

While the independent studies support that our inserts are effective in reducing sound, each sound situation is unique with variables such as other construction materials in walls, etc. and sound frequency intervening. In some cases, additional soundproofing techniques must be used in conjunction with our inserts. Of course, we are happy to troubleshoot the placement and fit of your inserts to ensure that the potential sound reduction is maximized.

“So we purchased an acoustic grade panel to help with tamping down the noise of nearby highway traffic. The insert has helped somewhat but not to the level we expected. We have already replaced one window facing the highway in an adjoining room with a Pella triple pane and that window does a better job than the Indow panel. Of course the cost is a lot more for the window as well versus the insert. We had hoped that the insert would be at least as good as the Pella window if not better and we were going to order some more. Now not sure.”

David, Thanks for the feedback. We are sorry to hear that the inserts have not helped to the level that you expected. The Pella triple pane versus our insert used with an existing double pane is usually quite close in noise reduction performance, but all sound situations are unique. The results can vary due to the type and style of the existing window and the amount of space between the insert and the window. Also, other factors such as the frequency/direction of the sound and the other materials in your walls and ceiling can affect results. The fit of the insert (something we can certainly troubleshoot with you) can also be at play. “The window inserts have been amazing. We used to have lots of street noise that disrupted our sleep, but the inserts made a huge difference. I would guess a 75%+ reduction in sounds. Now we only sort of hear the loudest cars or sirens, and it’s quiet enough we can sleep without disruption.”

“I bought my Indowindows for insulating reasons. I got them during a hot spell and what a difference they made! I am assuming they will work equally as well in the cold New England winter. I might actually keep the heat a few degrees warmer!”

“I live close (about 0.4 miles) from a busy street where illegal and very loud street racing happens in weekends, at night. My house is on top of a hill and there isn't much in the way to block the noise. I got the noise reduction window insert and it does reduce the noise by a lot (maybe 80-90% noise reduction). I was a little worried about the entire measuring and fit process, but actually it went pretty smooth. I measured the window myself with a measuring tape and the insert fits very well. I highly recommend the insert.”

Kevin, Thanks for the review. Besides energy savings and noise reduction, the thing we are most proud of is our unobtrusive design. The clarity of the optical grade acrylic used in our inserts is certainly a major part of this design. Being clearer than glass, the inserts do not interfere with the look of the existing windows or the view to the outside. Of course, you may have to clean a few "noseprints" from time to time.
