“I live in a house built in 1932 with original single-pane windows. The inserts look nice, and I'm glad they offer indoor protection to my almost 100-year-old windows. The sound reduction in the street-facing rooms has been moderate. I checked my energy bill statistics and did not see any benefits one month post-installation.”

Jennifer, We are sorry to hear that your initial experience with your inserts has not been what you expected. First and foremost, we are here and willing to troubleshoot any fit or spacing issues needed to ensure optimization of the energy savings and noise reduction properties. We are sorry to hear that our measuring system (designed to take 5-15 minutes per window) required so much more of your time. Much the same regarding the installation, with installation or removal designed to take minutes, if not seconds for smaller windows. We understand these tasks also can include ancillary preparation time (moving desks, adjusting window treatments, etc.) and we recognize the effort. We also understand that it seems rather difficult to set time aside these days. We will continue to focus our efforts on providing an easy, accurate measurement system that produces effective, easy to install inserts that are custom fit to the customer's window areas. Regarding the temperature issue, the inserts have a solar heat gain coefficient (a unit of measure indicating blocked solar heat) of the extra pane in a double pane window. So, you would still need to use blinds or curtains to reduce solar heat gain more than that. We anticipate you will continue to experience energy savings through the next, and many seasons to come. Despite the character of the current reported experience, we certainly welcome such feedback. As stated, we will reach out to explore fit/placement troubleshooting and also go over installation/removal. We want to make sure to do everything to enable you to enjoy the comfort and quiet in the convenient way it is designed to be. While it appears this beginning experience did not go as you expected, we are here to ensure the remainder goes simply and smoothly.

“I originally ordered Indow inserts due to loud cars in my neighborhood, and after ordering, the culprit moved away. Still, I installed 2/3 of my inserts due to laziness around moving my window shades at the same time, and I am very, very impressed with the sound reduction. I made a recording of audio blasting through a speaker in the room, behind the window pre-insert, and with the insert installed. The results are incredible. If the old neighbor decides to come back for a visit, I probably will not be awoken again. Customer service is great, price is on the expensive side, but the team does work with you to make it feasible, install is easy, and it is much less stress and hassle than getting different windows that wouldn't do as good of a job. I would definitely recommend Indow inserts to anyone having sound issues in their house or neighborhood.”

Lamar, We are sorry to her that you are not experiencing the noise reduction you have hoped for. We are now reaching out to you to troubleshoot the fit and placement of your inserts to ensure you are maximizing the sound reduction. As our inserts have been independently proven to reduce sound entering through window areas, usually adjustments to the fit and placement will correct the problem. That said, every sound environment is unique and sometimes further soundproofing methods must be used in conjunction with our inserts to achieve the sound reduction level one is aiming for in a room. “We needed something to replace the taped-on plastic insulation that had been up for over 10 years - ugly and falling down! We live in a converted church and have large non-standard-sized frosted pebbled chicken-wire glass windows in the basement. Beautiful, but not well insulated. “The whole process, from start to finish was awesome! The hardest part of the whole thing was taking down the window blinds and reinstalling them afterward. Ordering was a breeze. Once the order was made they sent the very cool laser measuring device and instructions. Once all the measuring was done, I was waiting for the confirmation email to arrive ensuring I measured correctly. Then the email came saying I did OK and they were in the queue for manufacturing. Then I got the email that they are shipping and how to track where they are. Then one day I got an email from the trucking company saying to call for a delivery appointment. The truck came and delivered the pallet of very well-secured and packaged inserts. Unpacking them was a little bit of a chore since they were so well-packed, but with the proper tools and patience, I had them in the house in no time. The actual installation was a breeze. The hardest part for me was connecting the little ball chains to the safety brackets. Once that was done just had to work the seal around the window insert to get it right, and done! Had to reposition the window blinds a little, but not much and were are done! They work really well for my needs and the noise level is reduced dramatically.”

“We have a historic condo with floor-to-ceiling windows that are fully west-facing located in the desert. Due to it being both historic and a condo, the idea of covering the windows and blocking the view left our options to replace the windows limited. During the hours of 3pm - 6pm, it was unbearable to sit on the couch even with the shades down in the summer months as temps hit 110+ degrees. The Indow inserts, with the Museum filter, were a great solution. We can now comfortably sit during the afternoon hours and you don't even notice them there when the shades are up! Knowing that we have UV filtration also assures that I'm protecting furniture and paintings from damaging rays. Lastly, Indow makes the entire process of measurement, delivery and installation a breeze - we had 9 inserts installed within 2 hours. They fit well and the results were immediately noticed.”

“Almost everything goes great but it looks not effective for low frequency noise. Maybe lower frequency noise can penetrate wall, which a window can not block it. Packaging and shipping are beyond expected.”

“The Indow inserts are doing a great job reducing the jet noise in my bedroom. I can finally get a full night's sleep. The process of ordering the product has been a long and difficult one. The website for entering measurements is not intuitive. I needed to call my sales rep to walk me through the process. The laser measuring device is impossible to use, especially with the blinds that I had in my windows. Once the inserts arrived there was another challenge. 3 inserts were in 1 box. It was VERY heavy. Trying to get the box from my porch into the house was difficult and I could have injured myself. Please send each insert individually. The quality of the inserts could be better. The rubber seals, especially the edges are not well made. The frame of one of the inserts had glue on it and it took 20 minutes to remove. Installing the inserts is not easy. The chain brackets are impossible for a consumer to install. I tried but gave up. I think that the inserts do their job well, but the design needs work. There must be a better way for the inserts to fit into the window frame. I would recommend this product because it does a great job reducing sound. But for consumers that are not handy, this product would be very hard to order and install. I think that having a network of installers in major cities would be helpful.”
