“The product is great, definitely quieter and less drafty now. However, even after carefully measuring, both inserts are about 1/4 inch too short. Appreciated hiring racially and gender diverse staff in the warehouse. To be honest though, I couldn't recommend the service. It took months to place my order, then one window had a very noticeable flaw. I agreed to return it and pick up the replacement, yet Indow was not willing to take even a little off the cost, even though I'm saving them effort and money at my own inconvenience. I also got a pissy voicemail after not yet responding to an email that had been sent a few hours before. I know it's a pandemic, but still: not impressed.”

“Communication throughout the process was very good, and I appreciated the initial video chat/consultation. The measurement kit was robust and easy to use, and the customer web portal made it simple to input (and double-check!) the measurements. Our insert arrived well packaged, with plenty of supporting videos & documentation for unpacking, installation, and maintenance. The fit, ultimately, is as accurate as I could expect for our application. Time will tell if the insert will hold up in its shower environment--over two weeks of use currently and all is well. Once I cleaned up the insert, it looked attractive for the purpose, and its privacy opacity is just right. I do have to mention that it arrived surprisingly dirty e.g., black smudges and streaks on the gasket and frame, particulates, grit, and grime on the acrylic window portion. There was no protective film to peel off as I'd been led to expect.”

Hi, Brian. Thanks for your review and picture. That Privacy Grade Indow insert looks great! We are so happy to hear you are satisfied with the Indow team and the performance of your insert. We do apologize for the smudges on your inserts upon delivery. The reason this happens is because the tubing is left unwrapped during shipment. We do this intentionally because silicone tends to have an unpleasant smell after it's made, so leaving it unwrapped until it arrives allows more time for the smell to dissipate. “Thank you Tyler and everyone at Indow for improving the quality of our bedroom. We had air leaks around the 1903 set of windows and constant noise intrusion from the street below. The acoustic design has eliminated most noise and the tight fit keeps cold air out. I was surprised how tight the fit would be. At first the seal at the lower right corner puckered and would not close. It took some effort to reseat the Indow for uniform compression all around with no gaps. Thanks to all at Indow!”

Like you expereienced, with some minor adjustments of the silicone compression tube, you can get a great fit. We provide guidance and video instructions for this process.

“I purchased 3 inserts. Works really good for keeping the rooms warmer but for the sound there ok not as good as I hoped.”

“Everything seems fine. The window took a long to arrive but that was likely COVID related. It fits well and blocks the sound which is all that's really important. The questions below address the delivery time of the postal/courier service. This wasn't the problem in my case, the delays came from Indow.”

“The process for measuring is rather involved but on the whole I am very satisfied with these windows. It is clear that the company is very invested in communication and customer satisfaction. A big vote for continuation of the lighter brown gaskets!”

“Overall it works to reduce a lot of noise outside. But it is much heavier than I expected. So removing the inserts needs some time, and better two people. The only drawback is the dirt on the frame tube. You can see the frame tube is pretty dirty and sticky and hard to clean. This may be due to the dirt in the manufacture or the compressed packaging during shipping.”

You're on track regarding the root cause for the dirt, and fortunately it should be easy to clean with our cleaning instructions. The reason this happens is because we intentionally leave the tubing unpackaged while it's in transit. This allows it to air out and ensures that there aren't any unpleasant smells from the manufacturing process when your inserts arrive. “I am very happy and surprised at how well Indow Inserts work. I am using 3 large inserts on original MCM single pane reed glass. I had a thermometer in the area prior to and after installation by Stu Grant Windows. This is winter and I saw a 10°f change in temperature, providing a more comfortable and much quieter atmosphere. I also don't have to deal with the moisture issues and there is little to no condemnation on the coldest days. These are high quality and worth every penny because I am already saving on heating. Thank you Indow.”

“Awesome product. My sun room went from 55deg to 70deg with the thermostat and the other parts of the house being 72. Huge improvement. It also cut down on the sound from the highway.”

“These window inserts are life saver. We had a Train Noise issue in our master which really impeded our sleep. We worked with Brian and he was really helpful suggesting the right product for our issue and i can tell you they worked as expected. Actually, better than expected. They are really help soundproof the room and our peaceful nights of sleep have returned.”

“I will preface that the customer experience with Indow was 5-stars. My customer service rep was great and the laser tool they used was easy to follow. I ordered 4 units and each of them fit perfectly. The result was noticeable but I still have more work to do before I can eliminate my barking dog problem. Their customer support was great at helping me with other things that I can do to further reduce noise.”
