I was suffering with traffic noise for 2 years. I live on a heavy traffic main street with fire trucks, Harleys and cars with triple mufflers. I couldn't sleep at nights and was even considering moving. I found Indow window inserts and thought I would invest and give it a try. The $600 was completely worth it. The noise has been muffled by 90% and it's absolutely amazing !!! I couldn't imagine a thin insert like that could make a world of difference. But it did. I just wish I knew about this sooner. Amazing product !!!

These are the real deal. I researched several companies and decided on Indow. Reed Nicholson at Indow helped me through the entire process. I explained to him that the main reason for needing these inserts was neighborhood noise: the barking dog, the loud pickup truck next door, the yard machines, etc. The laser kit arrived and was fun and easy to use. It allowed me to get six measurements per window. After measuring, i decided on just ordering two of the six that i measured (as a test run). The inserts arrived packed wonderfully in a custom crate, with foam and vinyl sticky paper on the glass itself. Each insert was marked, as to which window it was intended. The inserts fit perfectly. The rubber gasket around the outside is flexible enough to allow for "wiggle room" and for ease of installation. I was happy that they fit behind the already installed cell shades (that were an inside mount). Now the test... first off, the sound reduction is incredible. That dog must have left town in that pickup truck, because i don't hear either any longer. And the room is significantly warmer (It's February and we live in PA). You cannot tell that there is anything in the window, because of the quality "plexi" glass. Very nice inserts. Heavy duty. Good weight to them. I have just re-ordered the laser measuring kit, as we plan on measuring most of the other windows. It turns our old windows into triple pane, energy efficient windows, without having to remove, replace (smaller), and deal with all that nonsense. The cost is also not prohibitive. And, you can apply for a tax credit as well (as Indow alerted me). You will not be sorry. These really work. Everything they claim is the real deal. And i'm back for more.

Hi, Michael. Thank you for taking the time to share about your experience and impressions with us! We are very happy to hear that your home is once again quiet thanks to your Acoustic Grade Indow inserts. The dog leaving town in a pickup truck...you may have just come up with the next Country music hit.

Well the insert definitely cut the drive by traffic noise down quite a bit, to the point that it doesn't wake me up any more which is huge and it actually takes longer to unpack the insert then it does to place it in the window. Most likely going to get two more for downstairs in the living room, just for the noise reduction.

We put three Indows in our bedroom. We live on a fairly busy street in Wisconsin and love how they've made our room warmer and quieter. And we still have our 150 year old windows.

Great fitment. Whole process took a while but the results are worth it. Was expecting 1/4” glazing for my acoustic grade. What I received seems like 1/8” (see photo)

I installed Indow acoustic inserts in my bedroom inside of windows that were relatively new (less than a year) but were poor quality, meet-minimum code requirements, "builder class" Anderson Windows. My main desire was for noise reduction, but I welcomed the added thermal efficiency. Basically, the Indows delivered on the thermal efficiency improvement, but fell short on the noise reduction. The noise I have to deal with is primarily low frequency, aircraft overflight as well as idling diesel engines. If you approach Indow about noise reduction, make sure you discuss with them the type of noise you need to reduce. I do not think that Indow tried to mislead me, but I would suggest to them that they really talk to people about noises they want to reduce. Given the cost, I am neutral on if I would buy them again. It probably depends upon how they do through time.

The insert definitely reduced the amount of cold air coming into the room. The window insert has only reduced the amount of noise by 10DB in the room. We were hoping to get a larger reduction of sound. It seems to have done a good job reducing higher end noises however the lower end sounds like heat pumps were not reduced as much. With that being said, my wife is now sleeping a little better, and I am glad that we purchased the product. If you ever would like some real world testing on that type of sound, please let me know.

I took my time in measuring all of our windows. Some were out of square for sure. Our set of 11 inserts arrived in a big, well packaged shipping crate that was pretty straightforward to unpack. Nothing was damaged at all. Since our windows are big, I was expecting more of a challenge to install the inserts. It was a piece of cake after you learned how to squeeze one in properly. Every single one of them fit perfectly. As a result of covering most of our windows, there is a noticeable reduction in cold drafts. They're crystal clear so your view is unobstructed. You can hardly tell theyre there. I'm pretty happy with ours. I know they'll pay off in no time.

Overall, we are very happy with out inserts. We had a couple issues, such as the security chains being too short. We also were under the impression that storage bags came with our inserts. This doesn't seem to be the case.

Overall, we're very happy with the windows. The only significant issue we have is that the south porch window wants to bow out. I ended up putting a screw in front of it so it will stay in place. We will probably have to put a 1/4" shim on the bottom to get it t fit more snugly. Also, in hindsight, we should've put mullions on both the north and south windows. They are quite large, making them hard to handle and store. If we had put a mullion on them, all of our windows would have been about the same size. That would have greatly simplified off-season storage. Live and learn I guess...

I'm a Voice Actor working out of L.A. As just about anyone living in the city can tell you, things can get REALLY loud around these parts. To make matters worse, landlords have little incentive to install windows capable of reducing outside news, as the weather is generally mild and, well, when it comes to the noise, you moved to the city. What did you expect...? While the inserts are not an alternative to an isolation booth, as low end frequencies that plague voice actors can still penetrate (Albeit significantly muffled) the inserts, the overall ambient noise from the world outside is DRASTICALLY reduced when having the inserts properly installed; and can certainly benefit anyone who who's limited on space, isn't looking to shell out several thousands of dollars for a booth, or in my case, has a single wall booth that's still susceptible to intrusion form higher outside frequencies. Needless to say, my number of 'did the mic hear that?' moments have certainly been reduced! (To be clear, these are not an alternative to a booth or place of isolation, rather, they can help with the overall levels of intrusion from outside noise) As an added bonus, unrelated to Voice Acting, living near the ocean can bring lots of moisture to the inside of the windows on cooler nights. I often find myself having to open the windows when it's cold out, or use a squeegee to wipe away the condensation. The inserts have not only eliminated the moisture, but they've also helped maintain a more consistent temperature throughout my unit, thanks to a reduction in outside airflow into the unit. Overall, I'm definitely happy with my purchase!

We love our new inserts! They have cut down on outside noise significantly, and we no longer have a strong draft coming through the windows of our historic home. We will definitely be purchasing more Indow window inserts in the future!

The windows themselves are well-made and look great. The customer service was excellent from start to finish. The fitting kit and instructions were straight forward and easy to use. The indow windows are definitely worth the investment and in the long run they are a big cost saver, as prior to finding indow we were considering replacing our windows. I am very impressed with the company as a whole. What a great product!!
