“As a new night shift worker the inserts are amazing! I love that they can be easily removed for my husband, who sleeps on a regular schedule. My bedroom is completely dark, and I have been getting great sleep throughout the summer.”

“Indow has reduced the sound of eighteen wheelers applying air brakes under my window by enough of a margin that I seem to be able to get more sleep. Thank you. I would like to purchase two wands (not a large pole) to attach permanently in the center hole of the top of the insert in order to allow me to raise and lower the shade without getting a footstool.”

“After doing a lot of research on acoustic panels, I found that Indow inserts did the most professional job on custom window inserts AND they are removable. Reed gave me all the information I needed and they make it so easy to get your exact measurements with a laser. Definitely noticed a difference when installing inserts in the master bedroom. Buying again to do two more room. (We have a train that rolls through a block away. This helps take the abrasiveness off the train horn.)”

Hi, Cynthia. Thanks for your honest feedback. We can only reduce the noise coming through the window, which can in some cases limit how much noise is reduced overall. That said we'd like to make sure everything is installed properly and working to the best of its ability. We've alerted the sales representative who worked with you. “I recommend indows to anyone that are trying to block annoying sounds from outside, whether be a noisy neighbor, traffic noise, or any other type of loud noise, they are extremely effective at doing that. I was blown away by how much they reduced the sound of my neighbor’s lawnmower and his workshop. After 4 years, I can finally go to bed and not worry about noise. Life saver!”

“Great product. The directions were easy to follow and installation was fairly easy. The best parts were the noise levels went down substantially and I was able to preserve my mid century modern windows.”

“Bought two noise insulating ones for $500 because we live on busy street. Unfortunately, they didn't provide any significant noise reduction, mostly because we already installed triple pane windows with Krypton gas. I probably should have spent that money on spray foam insulation in the dormer walls to maximize sound insulation, but that's not the fault of the Indow windows...”

Christoph, thank you for taking some time to chat with us about your issues. We're sorry to hear that your test against your existing soundproof windows did not improve the comfort of the room. We always recommend talking with one of our Fit Specialists before ordering our product so they have an opportunity to review specifics to determine whether our product is right for you. That way we would've been able to set the expectation that with the small size of your windows and that they are triple pane means that the sound is likely coming in through other parts of your wall.

“Sound reduction is present but really not as expected. Acceptable improvement. Customer service is excellent though and very responsive to needs and requests with prompt emails or follow up calls. Great information provided on installation and measurements.”

“I found the entire process very easy to work with including the consultant who helped me, using the laser measuring tool, receipt of my order & installation of the inserts. I was amazed at just how much noise my inserts reduced, & I couldn't be happier. I would absolutely recommend this company & their window inserts product to anyone considering adding inserts to their existing window. I only wish I'd done this sooner!”

“Thank you for the indow. The sound reduction is perfect. It helps to keep the summer heat out and I hope also the winter cold. Best of all you can't see it. The whole process from beginning to end was easy. The only issue, of I may, was the laser. When I was measuring to the right it was easy but to the left it was harder to keep the laser steady when I went to push the button it would tip I think because the laser needs a support on both sides of the magnet.”

“The indow windows are really great and do the job! Only thing that I would state is that for large windows the install is difficult and requires two people: plus someone with a skinny am too attach the chain. Overall very pleased.”

“Indow is a good idea but I don't think I am the ideal customer. I have a house from 1899 and wanted to increase energy efficiency without unsightly exterior storm windows. My windows are not square and the sill not uniform so the Indows really questionable if they will do any good. I have a decent seal but over time we will see if it lasts - Im not feeling good. The Indow shipping department is a mess. I got a 500 pound crate that was half full. No, literally 50% full at most! It took 2 hours to cut the "eco" crate down into something I could discard and I still have a double pallet to cut up. I think this irritated me more than anything. It would be an easy fix but they need someone with some engineering and logistics knowledge and that is obviously missing. This should hav been the easy part. The finished installation looks pretty bad unless you have curtains up to hide it and fortunately I do in most places. The corners bunch up and it looks really bad. The gasket is not white. It is like an aged white rubbery plastic and it just feels and looks like it will not last like I wanted it to. Spent $7000 on Indow and wish I had just bout unsightly storm windows.”

We package our inserts in a way that prevents damage during shipping--due to the nature of our inserts we want to ensure they are fully protected, and large orders can require large shipments. We've passed your photo to our operations and shipping departments to review the packaging. As soon as we can get photos of the fit issues you're describing we'll be able to address them. Normally a corner issue is easy to fix, but if it can't be corrected with a quick corner adjustment we'll be happy to correct the issue under our Snug Fit Guarantee. We'll also be mailing you one of the sample pieces we provided while you were measuring to make sure there wasn't a quality issue with the batch of tubing used for your order.
