I enjoyed this course immensely. I'm not an "insider", so the information provided made it easier for me to understand concepts I hadn't understood in the past. Although I'm not sure I'll be pursuing a career in screen-writing, at least I have enough information to make an educated and informed decision. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants an overall better understanding of the inside workings of the film industry.

I am very pleased with my review. The Reviewer fully understood my theme, as expressed through action, dialogue and metaphor and, given his/her lengthy and detailed analysis, had very obviously studied my script thoroughly. His/her suggestions for improvements are clear and make perfect sense. As the Reviewer points out, and as I know myself, this will be a difficult script to market for reasons beyond the standard of writing and storytelling. However, the Reviewer's very positive reaction has assured me that I have an excellent product and has given me the confidence to now go out and kick down doors to make things happen. This alone makes the fee worth paying.

Outstanding service! On time and very detailed. Comments regarding areas that needed to be improved were valid. The consultant seemed to have an appreciation for the script's genre which honestly is rare with these services. Again, terrific job. Look forward to using them again!

The one day script editing service was a most satisfying experience. It makes such a difference to be able to talk a script through face to face, from beginning to end and explore all possibilities. It enabled me to shift to a different mind-set, in a way that would be hard to establish by a written report alone. I didn’t know what to expect, but the editor’s approach made me feel at ease. Time flew by, but we managed to do everything we planned to do, in a relaxed and welcoming environment in the centre of London. The script editor had done his homework well and was very interested in the story, which always helps. He helped me to get a much better insight in how to fix the remaining flaws in the script. I am confident I can now finish it to a standard that could be of interest to the film industry.

Like my last one, this report arrived very punctually and was really insightful with regards to my script's structure and its relationship to the characters and the main character's journey. All suggestions were pertinent and sensitively made - always with empathy towards what I am trying to achieve. Although I didn't agree with all points/comments, I have found disagreements have encouraged me to helpfully review my reasons for how I have written the script . I now realise much more clearly what needs to be better highlighted and revised. In short, as before, I was very impressed by the excellent quality of the analysis.

An all round excellent service. My script report was delivered a week earlier than the deadline and was extensive, with some valid points raised. I've found it extremely helpful and will be using the service again for my second draft. It was interesting to receive a review that considered the commerical perspective as well as creative, which has allowed me to generate new ideas with this in mind.

This course had everything I expected and more. It covered everything I wanted in helping me approach my writing. How to be organized, things to look for in character and plot development. Even some really helpful publishing information. My only disappointment was the certificate they provided. All you get is a picture of a certificate with blanks for you to fill in your own name and the date of completion. I expected an automation of that from my account. I give them 5 stars for the course; zero stars for the certificate.

I am a screenwriting first timer. I wrote a novel initially, then converted it into a script. Also English is not my first language. Initially, I was hoping that my friends/ family would read the script, but quickly realised that a) it takes forever to hear back (my husband still has not read my script!), b) you get feedback that is not getting you far (all is perfect, you are a genius). So I took the plunge and invested into the report by a professional. I am glad I chose IS. I wanted to say big thank you to the analyst who read and fed back on my script. Report was delivered earlier than promised, despite that, analysis was very thorough and I even got extra pages of it. But most importantly feedback provided was just what I needed - objective but professional - and very importantly - compassionate view of my script. I got an honest feedback, which absolutely made sense, but yet, despite my fears, I did not lose the motivation to continue with my script. Moreover, I am clearer on what I need to do to get my script to the next level and the movies I got recommended to see (spot on by the way!) are spurring me to go on! I had lots of fears before I went for it - what if I completely suck, will they be honest with me, what if the feedback serves a massive blow to my writing self esteem, will the analyst know enough about sci fi, etc etc. All unjustified in the end :) If you need objective, professional feedback on your script, go for it - worth every penny. As for me, I will be back :)

Report arrived on time. Detailed feedback gave me a clear breakdown of the issues in my screenplay. Critique identifies what is working as well as what isn't. Highly recommend this service for screenwriters who want an objective and thorough response to work in progress.

On-Time delivery of the Idea Screening service. Very cool breakdown of the idea, the analyst clearly knew the genre and message I was trying to convey! Glad I had a voucher as I am not convinced it would be worth paying £30 for it, but since I didn't have to pay giving it 5 Stars!

I was a bit wary about using this service at first, but am glad that I spent the time going through the site and the money to pay for the report. I was delighted with the detailed 8 page report on my script and potential series treatment. The reviewer made a number of useful observations, both general and detailed, about not only the content, but also the style of my writing and overall I found his/her comments extremely useful. They will help me to improve the idea that I sent but also in my general scriptwriting in the future.

I thought she/he made some very good points, especially regarding clarifying the main goals with both the protagonist and antagonist as these develop through the story. The earlier drafts were a bit dialogue-heavy and I think in my haste to correct this some of Henri's goal definition got lost eg there was a line in the first act which I removed in consultation with the director 'as soon as I inherit my shares there will be big changes at Kingdom'. So her points are fair and fairly easy to work up. I also agree that his psychologkcal conflict can be explored more, especially in relation to the'vision'. I will certainly do this. The ghost originally talked and we thought it was all a bit scooby-do so we lost the dialogue here but she's given me some good ideas to show Henri's madness more. Where I take slight issue with the report is in her summation that the plot's too descriptive. She makes the point on several occasions that its visual and the pace is fast and supported by punchy action sequences and some witty dialogue so to summarise that there is too much expo is many of the relationships seems contradictory. I do agree that the corruption plot development can be shown more and maybe told less but apart from that, most of the relationships are developed through action. On the corruption development, expo can be useful sometimes to move things along with brevity and I didnt want to get caught up in all the detail of how money passes through accounts electronically. The secret account is basically a mcguffin so I want to paint the picture with very broad brushstrokes. Thereis a place for exposition if it can be relayed in the context of action and so I do not feel this is as much of a problwm as she makes out. However, if I'm showing him as more active then we can overcome a lot of this anyway. The script was originally based on hamlet and i'm glad this wasn't picked up on in the report as I've been moving it away from that. But it does help explain why Henri is perhaps al ittle passive in the 2nd act. Blame it on the Hamlet overhang! I also inderstand her point about the WAG stereotypes. This is difficult to overcome without a lot of subversion as you have to deal with audience expectations to a degree, especially in satire. However, I am going to make Gabrielle a bit more switched on amd elsewhere do the opposite and make Wagdom even more OTT. She misreads the Henri/Jessica arc, its not about materialism. Essentially, what draws thwm to gether is that they have their own private world they create together as evidenced by their opening exchange which prorects them from 'planet football' and the public glare. This is then torn apart by Henri's feelings of madness and isolation and the fact he no longer feels he can trust anyone. To get back together both of them need to come to terms with the world they inhabit. Henri does this by challenging Lord and saving the club. She does it by giving up the band. Of this isn't coming across well enough though I will do more work to clarify. The car he gives up is symbolic of the glitzy life he is prepared to give up for her at the end. Finally, I have to say I don'tagree with her summation of the ending.Henri does save the club at some cost to himself. He saves it because it doesn't go bust and survives the scandal and can now renew itself (symbolised by George) rather than be obliterated in the fall out. Also, there is essential expo in the resolurion scene because that is the purpose of a resolution scene, to tie up thw loose ends. Therefore the radio dialogue is useful because it quickly outlines some of what has happened in the intervening period. All in though, some very useful points and I've got a lot of ideas springing from the report to help me build on what's there.

The report on my script arrived in time and the consultant even went slightly above-and-beyond the call of duty, delivering additional pages of analysis to those promised. The comments were very helpful and I managed to improve my script considerably. Though the rating page was missing, I didn't get a 'pass', so that was good news.

Highly detailed, honest report of my script. Delivered on time, and at length. The reviewer spent a great deal of effort highlighting issues with my work, although I had hoped it would have scored better I can understand why the apsects of plot, dialgoue and my character did not work for the reviewer. It was insightful, honest feedback, and the explanation and reason behind why the various plot lines and characters failed was logical and now much clearer to see as a writer, from the readers perspective. The reviewer also spent additonal time outlining how the script could be improved which was most useful. Think I'll stick to the day job. Writing a compelling script is NOT easy!

I was hugely impressed with the thought that went into the feedback. I can see what the flaws are and I feel inspired to make the changes. I always got a sense that the script consultant was on my side, even when pointing out what wasn't working in the script. I would recommend this service.

I did the Effective Script Reading course recently and was really impressed with the detailed information they provided as to how to assess scripts. Their tips on how to get work as a script reader were invaluable. I would highly recommend it. Joe Solomon
