“We visit Skipton twice a year and a highlight is a visit to Keelham Farm Shop. Popped in to the upstairs cafe today. 3 members of staff working , yet it took a full 30 minutes after ordering to have 1 coffee and 1 tea brought to the table. Complaints were met with "were extremely busy"....doing what?? People in adjoining tables experienced similar delays. Very poor today, I'm afraid.”
“We had full breakfast there this morning , 15 minutes to have order taken ( after we asked a young girl ) if we went too counter or was it waiter service?
The coffee's turned up another 15 minutes later / apparently they only had one person sorting out drinks.
I sat people watching while waiting and noticed the same young man wipe out the miniature milk jug with his finger , pour milk into it and place onto a tray !! Lovely !!
Turned around and saw the " chef " picking up scrambled egg off one plate and placing onto another plate with his bare hands !! Again Lovely !!
Some 10 minutes later our breakfasts turned up both with scrambled eggs on !!
We queried this because neither had ordered scrambled eggs !!
The young waitress said you get scrambled eggs unless you order a different type of egg !!
We explained nothing on menu and person who took our order didn’t mention this fact either.
Overall , extremely disappointing especially as we had heard a great review from a Friend and also its so busy!!
Had a lot better elsewhere.”
“I bought a tray of plums from Keelhams this afternoon but upon opening found that they were mouldy and totally inedible. The rotten parts of the plums were hidden underneath.
I’ve thrown lots of fruit away when purchased from Keelhams. Today’s experience was once too often. No-one was available to pick up the phone.”
“Bought steak pie. Normally reliable but increased price by 25%.Lots of pastry and onions but very little meat. Offer on the pie have a free bag. Does the hike in price allow for the poor quality of the pie, to pay for the bag.? Not happy.”
“Today (11/10/21) I bought 2 pink lady apples and when I arrived home checked my receipt . I found that I payed for 2 punnets of Pink Lady apples, £4, all together. Shocking negligence!”
“I bought flowers, dead 2 days later. Cherries, mouldy 2 days later and when I got home found that I had been charged over £5 for a pack of frozen pastry. Overpriced and over rated. Not a patch on M&S.”
“Spent £8.00 on 2 ready made curries, made by " crafty Indian " they went straight into the dustbin when I opened them at home.
Full of fatty off colored bits of chicken thigh meat. Looked absolutely disgusting , expected better quality than what I paid for.
Do not purchase these curries, waste of money.”
