“Despite stressing that a PSA blood test was urgently requested by Queens oncology prior to a telephone consultation, my husbands phone appt was cancelled as Queens didn't receive the results! On contacting KGH pathology, it was confirmed that " we do have the results but due to an error on our part they were incorrectly dated".As a result, my husband has been told he won't get an oncology appt until.late February!”
“Disgusted at what my parents have gone through in the past 7 weeks. My dad has been admitted 5 or 6 times with cellulitis in his leg. They discharge him because they need the beds, home for a couple of days each time and then admitted again. He is totally confused, delerious, hallucinating. Yet today 2 consultants and the sister of Beech Ward have been rude to my mum with regards to once again discharging my dad, as they have done all they can for him. He is not well, and needs 24 hour care, my mum is 78, and this is taking its toll on her. When I heard that staff have been very unpleasant to her today, I'm livid. They wanted to send him home, mum wasn't at home, the consultant asked if she had a key safe, so the ambulance staff could let him in. Are they for real, he doesn't even know what day it is, he had a fall in hospital, and you are going to let him in and leave him on his own. Unbelievable, what on earth has become of our NHS system. Mum called them when she was at home at 4.30pm to say she was home and the ambulance could bring him home, mum called dad to explain this to him. Then just before 8pm, the ward called to say he will be home tomorrow now, as his medication was not ready. Fuming and disappointed.”
“Dear all
Well what can I say! My Aunty was admitted to King George hospital Ilford. I telephoned them and they were lovely explaining how she was etc. They said no heed to call as they will telephone the next of kin every day! Well I know you are busy but please don’t say things you cannot keep to your word as I have never had a phone call from them. just continue to look after her thank you”
