“Our tutor tried to make the class as interactive as possible to help with our learning. She was always so helpful, giving up her personal time to help support us and always supplied us with extra material and resources to assist with our learning”

“I’ve taken 3 Cactus courses, most recently Spanish. I highly recommend the courses. I really enjoyed the Spanish course and I felt more confident at the end of it. I’ve deducted a star because I would have liked more ideas for homework and sustaining learning.”

“Carolna is very nice and thorough and I feel my learning has progressed. However the change of date was disruptive as it took up a lot of time, went on for what felt like a long time and felt uncertain. In future I think students should be presented with a monkey survey with a number of dates in the future weeks (not the next day!) and if there is no consensus then have a new teacher assignedfor the assigned date (which is what happened in the end). I think Cactus admin needs to take responsibility for this and not lay it on the teacher.”

“Great class however feel it’s too big. Booked onto this course as was under the impression we would have 5-6 in a class. Last class was 11 students. Not fair on the students or teacher.”

“Excellent teacher, really knows his students. Central location in Manchester is hugely convenient. Course materials are easy to access. The website isn't always very clear regarding what course to enrol on or continue with, but if you do make a mistake (as I have done) an email to the Cactus team sorts it out very quickly.”

“The quality of the course depends on the teacher, of course. I've had very good teachers, but one in particular that was amazing. The book used for the French classes isn't great, and I've found it better when teachers didn't strictly follow the book curriculum”

“I am in my second your of studying with Cactus, so I was a bit surprised when all of a sudden all communications were sent to my husband and he appeared on the list of participants! Please do not blame it on your system as an employee did when I rang. The system is designed and operated by humans! We started the course Autumn 2017 with a very poor Cantonese teacher. after feedback (I had to ring to get the form!!!) you kindly changed the teacher. Under Jenny Cheng's paticient guidance the group has been going from January 18 to now. Not a bad achievement for Cantonese! We all want to carry on, so please invent new levels for us if necessary!”
