got a quote via a comparison website. after finalising the quote they sent me the documents which had many different details to those submitted by me. When I called to correct the details I was charged an extra premium AND my excess went up!

Everything they offer for my insurance on my new electric bike seemed to be very expensive and the conditions of cover were restricting and exacting. My Operator tried hard to find some item on the policy on which to apply a discount but there was nowhere. This insurer requires more competition in the marketplace. A bruising experience. Let's hope they're better if I ever have to claim. I would hope to find a better company when I have more time to look around than I did this time.

Although I have repeatedly requested my insurance contract to be sent to email, nothing happened until now.

Having gone through all the questions setting up the insurance I go ahead and pay. The documents are sent and I read them all. so far so good so I buy the bike and then receive a letter stating that there must be another lock used when ever the bike is unattended, even when in a garage. That should have been stated from the very beginning. Plus a much better description of what that means, does it mean when I go to pay for fuel after filling up ? If I park at a café but sit outside is my bike covered without a lock ? It's a very vague request and reads as a get out of jail card for the insurance company if your bike is stolen. Hopefully I won't have to ever find out but it would have been better to know from the start.

You called me on the day I insured myself to ask questions of conformation. I said I'm busy, call me back in exactly 1 hour, the lady on the phone agreed to call me in exactly 1 hour, I still have not received a phone call.

Told your company the 3 points I mentioned originally where not valid anymore and the bike was fully data tagged and I got no reduction after only 3 days of first getting the policy. Very very poor that removing 3 points made no impact on the premium.

Very poor experience. It took several telephone calls to arrange a simple insurance worth #138. The operators obliged the caller to give details of existing policies before passing on to another operative who asked the same questions. In my case this happened several times. On one occasion I was left holding on for at least 10 minutes while the operator re-booted his computer. The operator tried to sell additional items despite being told I wanted only to re-new the insurance. At the end the operator read all the conditions of the policy at such a speed that it was not possible to absorb all the issues involved. Altogether a necessary but unpleasant experience.

Your insurance fits my needs but the agreement terms and conditions were written in language that made me feel that i had entered into and agreement with the mafia, being told to return signed letter within a certain time frame or risk and administration fee of £26, s etc. You guys want to get more customer friendly. Once this policy comes to and end i will not be renewing. Just hope that you guys stick to your end of the agreement.

having been provided with a written renewal quotation at circa £600+ to renew with the same insurers (AXA) and been told that this was the BEST figure achievable from your stable of insurers I went onto comparethemarket .com to see what else could be available. I got a renewal quotation of circa £300 on an identical risk basis which was with AXA and via a broker called LEXHAM INSURANCE! I committed to the cover and paid the premium and was provided with the relevant documents electronically. On the same day and within 2 hours I had a called from LEXHAM INSURANCE presumably form your call centre asking me if I wanted to take up the offer to insure with AXA based upon the original £600 premium and when I asked if that was the BEST price that you could offer in the market I was told unequivocally that it was. LEFT HAND AND RIGHT HAND/GROSS INCOMPETANCE comes to mind along with a suspicion that you are NOT interested in offering the most competitive terms. Needless to say that as a result ALL TRUST in LEXHAM has evaporated. YOU ASKED for feed back now you have it but what if anything will you do?

After taking out a motorcycle policy with you I was asked for proof of no claims which I sent emidiatly. Now ,12 weeks after taking out the insurance I received a letter saying if I didn't send proof of no claims within the next 7 days the premium would be recalculated and there would be an additional charge. After phoning I was told the letter had been sent by mistake. This doesn't inspire me with confidence in the company.

Poor / inaccurate advice from call centre re ability to effect insurance before CBT. Even when they referred to a supervisor, the response was factually / legally inaccurate. Odd policy wording which I have never come across before - they seem to provide one policy for the TPF & T element and a separate one for the own/ accidental damage portion Paying by instalments option is extortionate - 69% APR - luckily I was paying in full for my son - I feel sorry for youngsters who may have no choice but to take the instalments option.

Pros: phone always answered quickly by a real person - no menus to wade through. Call centre staff pleasant and easy to talk to. Slightly lower premium. Lexham don't use RAC for their optional breakdown cover. Cons: staff appear inadequately trained, so can easily inadvertantly mislead and confuse. Disorganized. mistakes or complications caused by call centre take time and several layers of staff to sort out. No clear, single claims number: at least six alternatives given. No idea which is best. Legal cover included, not an optional extra. I was about to give one star, but then I remembered Carole Nash were even worse, and Lexhams are at least a step up from them. Insurance has become too complicated for the brokers, let alone the poor customers.

Initially setting up the insurance was super easy: I got a quote via gocompare and went from there. Then the hell started. Lexham called me at work to tell me my insurance was actually invalid and then went on to say they'd have to push it back and it would cost more. Once they'd gone through the numbers I asked them to call me back after 6PM so they didn't disturb my work any further. All good until 15 minutes later when they call back to say "woops! turns out we were wrong". Didn't need to pay more. Still got disturbed. Easy to set up, shame about the customer service.
