“Roofing and front door/side light windows replacement went fine (Dec 2019/Jan 2020).
Fence installation (late Summer 2020) did not occur timely due to them ordering the wrong height of fencing. As a result, I had to pay twice to have a landscaper clear away fence line brush at a cost of almost $2K. After they finished the job at 4 PM they left their truck trailer in my driveway overnight blocking my cars in the garage. After 2 calls and e-mails the truck trailer was moved by 10:30 am the next day.
Bathroom shower installation - signed contract on October 6. Shower without glass was installed Dec. 4. with glass enclosure to be installed in about 4 weeks. Installers damaged walls and did not reinstall wall/toe mouldings and repair drywall but said the glass installers would do so. After I did not hear back from anyone at Long for several weeks after the shower installation about the follow-on work, I contacted my sales representative and he sent over workers that took 6.5 hours to complete this fairly straightforward task (they forgot to measure twice before cutting the moulding and had to make 2 trips to Home Depot for supplies). I received bills from Greensky that my 12 months "interest free" financing began Dec. 8 so my interest free period is actually more like 10 months or less by the time the work will have been completed. In essence if I don't pay the loan back within 12 months of Dec. 8, I would be paying interest on funds not yet due from me to Long since the work is not complete. I'm pretty sure this is illegal. I still have no scheduled glass installation date yet.
A year ago my level of trust with Long was extremely high. I will look elsewhere for my next home projects.”
“Had an attic fan that was disconnect from outside--caused electrical problems inside. Asked
if this needed to be disconneted inside--was told know. I spent additional monies because of this. Otherwise, I feel confident that roof will last and it makes my house look much better. Inaddition the gutter are working well.”
