They are not there to listen to what you have to say or do research. They are not helping people, they help companies get money.

Absolute scumbags chasing statute barred debt from 18 years ago which no longer exists on my credit file. They know it's illegal and have no regard for the law. Awful company praying on vulnerable people.

Lowell are scam artists and crooks! Normally, a creditor reports the first delinquency date of a charged-off account. This date should remain unchanged, regardless of how many times the debt gets sold. The only circumstance that a date would change is if you got the account current and then stopped paying on it, thereby creating a new delinquency date.

I've received a letter from Lowell… I've received a letter from Lowell about o2 debt that doesn't even exist as I haven't used o2 for ages. I never received any letter from o2 about an outstanding payment. The letter letter from Lowell doesn't provide any explanation. Tried to contact Lowell but there is no email, including on their website and im not going to call them and wait and be charged for nothing. I have contacted o2 and they told me my account was closed in the beginning of 2017 so almost 7 years ago!!! They (o2) were not able to tell what was the reason why Lowell sent me the letter. So I wrote a complaint to o2 and after that will also make a complaint to the financial ombudsman as it is very stressful to me. Looks like o2 together with Lowell does it to many former customers now as I found the same complaints written by others.

Horrible company. They don't look after people, they look after themselves. Profiting from vulnerable people in financial difficulty. If you log onto companies house you can see the directors and how much they make per annum form buying debts on the cheap then charging people the full amount. All profit in the bank for Lowell.

Absolutely shocking. Settled a default payment of £28 which I believe was paid years ago. Paid for peace of mind. Will investigate further. That was at 3pm. Card details given and payment taken. No confirmation or email. Have called 4 times to get an email sent. Everyone has been very nice and polite. But still no confirmation. Highly frustrating and concerned.

I have a debt with Lowell, I have asked them NOT to contact me via letter as my partner doesn’t know about my debt and wouldn’t be too happy. It’s a bank debt , which I have been paying conscientiously for months now. All of a sudden they have started writing to my partner, I called them and said he had nothing to do with the debt and would they please stop harassing him, but they told me the bank account I had was a joint account! IT WASNT, I have never had a joint account with him. They will not stop sending him mail which I am grabbing before he sees them. My mental health isn’t great but this is putting me over the edge. They just don’t LISTEN .

Recv text msg, rang up per their request,I asked for my ref number and their company address..she refused...told her the debt was statute barred, she said Lowells would STILL proceed..they do not follow FCA protocols..I ended up having to Google their address and sending a 'Limitations Act" timed out debt letter recorded delivery...

This company have repeatedly contacted me about someone else's debts. I remind them every time that it isn't me that they are trying to pursue and they agree and promise not to contact me again, but have repeatedly broken that promise. A disorganised shambles of a firm. I've made multiple complaints and now have involved the ombudsman and my MP. I don't know how they treat those who owe them money, but based on my own treatment as a non debtor, I can't imagine it's good. In summary, inept and useless.

Chasing and harrising people for debt that is 8 years old. The ccj is no longer on my records. Just chancing their luck in trying to get money from people because they are greedy. I have all the paper work related this back from 2014/15 the reason I kept it. I have all the ccj information and the year date it was taken out I’ve already seen and spoke to legal people over this and as stated on trust pilot it’s no longer a debt as it’s past the ccj date and is no longer on my credit files. If you were wanting to continue threatening and harassing me saying you will do to the next step and all this please remember you will need to reapply to courts for this and get permission but you most likely won’t get permission because you failed to collect the debt on the ccj 8 years ago.

Like others just now I had been getting text messages to contact these guys. I phoned cautious because they were asking for my details on data protection when i didn't even know who they were. They are scum. I was being chased for a debt from 1997. When I was 15! From a bank I hadn't had an account with in 20 years. They act all nice like they're trying to do you a favour and help you like the blurb on their website. Not knowing anything on this I said I'd offer £1 and goto citizens advice to find out my legal rights. "Oh no lets see if we can find you a discount and just settle this easy and now". We'll in keeping me busy and finding this out I was able to find out that after 6 years the debt is dead and the second the words statute barred left my mouth the call handler just went oh lemme see if I can close this account instead for you. Oh you'll get a letter, here we go, there we go, want me to remove your phone number? Yeah let's do that and couldn't of ended the call any quicker. What they're doing is criminal and disgusting they're trying to feed on people's memory and uncertainty. The entire charade is designed to help you with discounts so you pay anything thinking the problems gone when there wasn't even a problem. If they discount a 2k debt into 500 you think they've helped you and they walk away with your cash. Disgusting.

After falling into debt through an unfortunate circumstance in 2019 I had 4 accounts passed over to Lowell. At first I buried my head in the sand in contacting them. When I spoke to them they helped me set up an affordable plan. Today I finally cleared all those debts . These guys may seem like the bad guys but I can honestly say that everyone I spoke to really helped me and gave a lot of advice.

I received a text message from Lowell telling me that I had not responded to a letter they had sent and asked me to contact them. On speaking to them I was informed that they had sent me 3 letters none of which I received. They were contacting me regarding a Barclaycard loan of £4000+ with the last activity on the account in 2014. I told them several times I had never taken a loan with Barclaycard and to send me a statement showing how this was made up. It appears they were unable to do this. Having discussed the matter for more than 15 minutes I requested they send me all details they had of charges and payments. Just as they agreed to do this, they suddenly advised me that the debt was Statute Barred even though they’d told me the last action on the account was 9 years ago. This was obviously a ‘fishing trip’ hoping to get me worried into paying £4000+ for an unsubstantiated debt which was over 9 years old and no longer able to be recovered though the legal system. A pointless waste of time! Beware!
