Why is it that when I pre book and pay for short term parking, when I get to the exit barrier, it always shows circa 4 - 5 times more cost that I pre paid and I have to press the alarm button to verify my details and ask to be let out ???

Had pre-booked and paid for parking, but still needed to request assistance when leaving as the ticket was not excepted. Calling for assistance is not nice, as it took some time, they were very difficult to understand, and in the mean time an exit gate is blocked. Not my best experiance.

All good apart from both times I have parked there my booking reference hasn't been on my ticket. Therefore every time I go to leave it tells me I need to pay, and so I had to call the operator to let me out.

Overall a good experience, easy to find a space and close to the terminal. I have two main issues though which have stopped me from rating it better. Firstly, the condition of the car park was appalling, the road surfaces were all chewed up and road markings were non existent, particularly the marking of spaces which meant that some people had not parked properly. Secondly, I had to stop at the barrier and call the helpdesk to give them my booking reference number which took time and ended up with me holding up several other cars. It would be better if a number plate recognition system was used at the exit to make it quicker for people to get away and not hold up other cars.

It's a shame the short-term car park is on an 'unmade' surface rather than tarmac

Having advanced booking for the Short Term Luton Airport was a good deal. Hoverer, on return Mon 2 Feb and using ticket to exit, the machine said £108 was overdue. On asking attendant to assist was told to press 'Assistant' button. Awaiting 10 minutes and blocking an exit gate no answer. Checked with attendant and told someone else was speaking to assistance, awaited a further 10 minutes and had helpful reply and gate opened. Really didn't need this after a very busy weekend. Thought camera check would also have validated legitimacy of contract.

Poor parking surfaces resulting in considerable soil to shoes and therefore car. Price fine but several areas roped off so parking quickly to catch the bus was impossible. It is also about time that covered walkways were provided to the main car park. As a chauffeur, it is ridiculously uncomfortable for clients to have to walk in rain or snow across the car park to the badly organised car park. thank You

Like any airport parking it is not cheap - what is particularly galling though is having paid so much money you end up parking in a car park full of potholes - that is unacceptable. The process of using the car park is good though

Short term car park for 4 nights. Very good location to airport, relatively easy to find. Pre booked cost was ok, if I'd have paid on arrival then the cost would have been an absolute disgrace, £180!!! Machine didn't recognise my pre book so showed me full cost, wonder how many actually pay it. Condition of car park is just wasteland really, no lines, lots of potholes. Just about scraped normal rating.

Gold Carpark..good value booked early online. Close but quite disorganised and not well signed from Carpark to terminal although obvious which aopproximate direction to go

We booked online. Everything went swimmingly until it came to exit the car park and we found we owed something like £120! Luckily someone answered the buzzer gone midnight and sorted it all out for us.

I paid £22.99 for an online booking from Thursday Jan 22nd to Sunday Jan 25th and when I put my ticket in the slot at the barrier it told me I had to pay £108! Fortunately I pressed the intercom and was let out so no great problem after all.

ok price for what it was. Failed to pick up my number plate on leaving. Unpleasant to have £85 bill after already paying. Quickly sorted and.on our way. Is what it is £55 to park you car for 4 days parking. And a bus lift to and from the airport

Luton Longstay - on the bus on your return there is no announcement of which stops you are passing. You have to be vigilent and see your stop coming and press the stop button in time. There were no instructions to that effect and I missed my stop. Begrudgingly, I was taken to my stop after everyone else had got off the bus. At Heathrow and Stansted the bus driver gives instructions over the PA and tells you which stop you are approaching. They should do this at Luton as well.

Very nearby the terminal and I find this very convenient. The price and the proximity of the short term parking is what made me choose Luton to fly from. However, despite paying in advance, the machine didn't read my ticket appropriately at exit and wanted to charge me £223. I had to ring to cancel this. I've only parked in Luton short stay 3 times and this has happened twice, so unfortunately the streamlined service doesn't seem to work.

It was fairly easy to find a space but the courtesy buses are not frequent enough.
