“Not as good as it looks in the catalog. The filets and lobster tails were fantastic! The spanikopita was waaay too salty (and I like salt), the potato-veggie medley was unremarkable, and the pineapple upside down cake was mediocre at best. Also, the warning about the dry ice was hidden under the dry ice, and to say that gloves were what was needed was an understatement. Thin or rubber or vinyl gloves would have done no good; they had to be like oven mitts.”
“Most of the food tasted good but it wasn’t what I would describe as “delicious”. The scallops and lobster bisque were much too salty. The shrimps were limp. The bacon or pork lollipops were cute but had hardly any great flavor. Salty-yes, and tough to chew. But not very enjoyable. The only really good thing was the lobster roll sandwiches. The thing is- how do you eat these without making a mess? We paid entirely too much money for food that wasn’t really really so delicious and wonderful so we probably will not be ordering from you again. Thank you.”
“I ordered the Asparagus Roll-ups and Olive Twists last year at Christmas, they were wonderful and crispy. I ordered them again this year and they did not quite make it to crispy. They seemed a little soggy and limp. Not sure what this difference could be.”
“Usually what I order is always great. But I ordered the red box holiday cake and it was very dry. No one ate the piece they took and I threw more than half the cake away. It was looks over substance. The petit fours were also dry or freezer- burned. Not very satisfying and I would not order them again. The tira misu was fine. Not the best I have ever had but fine. Overall, I ordered all my desserts from Mackenzie for the holidays and probably will not do that again.”
“Your rather small item arrived in an extremely large container. That might explain the unreal shipping charges which added approximately 30% to the high cost of the item. As to the product, we ordered a quiche, tried to follow your cooking instructions to the letter. At the end of the recommended time, the internal temp of this dish was 42 degrees. After cooking for a total time of over 90 minutes(!) we were able to try it. The quiche was not mixed very well, some bites were extremely peppery, others were quite bland. We will not be buying anything from you again, you can be sure of that.”
