The box looked fine so I put it in my freezer but the day I did open it to heat up I saw that the cellophane was lifted off where the plastic container was broken apart so we didn't want to risk eating plastic pieces.”
“My mom received this catalog in the mail and had circled like 100 things. I surprised her for her Christmas gift with many of the selections. Had never ordered before and I was pleasantly surprised with the entire process. The food arrived in a great freezer box. We loved all the dishes we tried. I think our fav was the 4 berry pie. I have since ordered for other family members. It's not the cheapest delivery food but it's great quality and great service.”

“I was very surprised that I didn't like the crab cakes. Someone else recommended them, but I found them have very little lump crab and a lot of the pulled or stringy bits of crab which was very fishy tasting. I also think Chesapeake should ideally have either free shipping over a certain amount or a "membership" program like Wild Fork where for a reasonable annual fee members get free shipping on orders of a reasonable size. The shipping costs is a huge deterrent to ordering for me, especially for new items I'm not sure if I'll like.”
“We have ordered Chesapeake Crab cakes (jumbo and minis) for many years. While my husband and I still enjoy them more than most others we’ve tried, we are disappointed that the quality has diminished over the last few years, while the prices have not. Due to overfishing (?), inflation (?), labor costs, (?), I don’t know, but they are not what they used to be. They have far less lump meat, and more filler than in the past. While the flavor is consistent, the quality and amount of crab is not.”

“I have ordered a few things from Mackenzie. Each time I have thought it would be the last order, but I kept trying. Today my opinion is one you will not appreciate, but you asked. I think your products are just okay, nothing special and overpriced.
What I really don't understand is you charge more in shipping by the dollar amount. It would seem you would be better off giving a customer a break if they spend that kind of money.

“We were REALLY looking forward to getting and eating your products. They were very disappointing. Our bacon lollipops were easily 80% thick fat and almost tasteless. Both of our chicken products - the cordon bleu and the croissants were very dry with very little flavor. Our local Chinese takeout restaurant makes better potstickers than the ones we received and I could've gotten the same quality from a local grocer's freezer section for less money.
We wanted to treat ourselves and that's why we bought from you but there is no way that the products we ordered were worth the money we spent. No way.”
