“I have always cooked a ton of food for the holidays and I am very picky. I was so tired after cooking so much for Thanksgiving and had tons of people who wanted to come to my house for Christmas too so I decided to try out Mackenzie for all my side dishes and I was very impressed. It saved me so much time! All I had to make was the protein! My husband cooked ribs and I made swordfish and it went well with all my side dishes.”
“I have been ordering from MacKenzie for several years. It is expensive, but they do have savings offers, so I have learned to really watch for those. Buying something on line like this definitely means taking a chance that you will like the product. While I have gotten some things that I thought were awful, I have a long list of things that I always keep in my freezer and that we eat regularly and always enjoy. As we age and health and mobility issues become more prominent, I have appreciated the Mackenzie food service more and more. Suggestions for even better service would be: offering things like vegetables in smaller packages (such as servings for 2), offering sample sizes (there are things I would like to try, but don’t want to spend a lot of money on something I am afraid I would not like). I do appreciate the reviews of products and rely heavily on them. One thing that is hit or miss that could definitely use improvement is the notification of delivery system. Sometimes I get updates, notices of impending and actual delivery times. Other times I get absolutely nothing at all. Yesterday I got a delivery with no notice of impending or actual delivery. The box sat on my porch until my daughter accidentally discovered it. Fortunately it was cold out so the food was fine, but I definitely think I should have had notification of the delivery. I would also like it if there was a way to voice opinions when/before an item is discontinued. Two of my favorite food items are no longer available and I really miss them! Ginger salmon cakes and chocolate delight cookies, in case anybody cares!! They were both delicious—why are they no longer available?!”
“Though the salmon is good, the photos of the gift basket shown have bottles of olives, full size items, etc. and it doesn’t come with that. I ordered these for our board and was completed embarrassed by what they received. It also shows 4 packages of salmon and they got 2. It’s very deceiving as the description is not clear at all. I won’t be using them again. It was an expensive mistake. I also did an add on and the desserts were deliver 1.5 weeks later! Ridiculous. I personally don’t care where everything comes from, it’s not a gift basket if everything is separated. Back to Harry and David we go - they do this with ease and perfection every time and it’s clear what you’re getting.”
“All the logistics went fine. It arrived on time in a sturdy box w dry ice packs. I was serving it as a side dish w fish. Although my 2 guests ate it heartily, I found the mushrooms were tough and difficult to chew. I would not order it again.”
“I ordered a gift card and didn't receive it. My credit card was charged. I have found it nearly impossible to get in touch with them to resolve the issue. They make it very difficult.”
