“Your nonrefundable policy is inexcusable when it comes to product(s) NOT performing as described. I (unfortunately) purchased TWO Blueberry Buckle Cakes. I followed instructions TO THE LETTER, and it turned out SOUPY. Pretty awful, not to mention embarrassing since we had company over Thanksgiving.
I have not used the 2nd one and inquired regarding return and refund but it was declined.

“It is my opinion that they should try to organize their shipping/arrival times so that it works with the dry ice. I received my order for Thanksgiving (I ordered several appetizers). They arrived with zero dry ice and the shrimp were barely cool to the touch. Mackenzie takes no responsibility for shipping so basically, when it doubt, throw it out. I wasted a ton of money. Won't order again.”
“After decades - literally years and years of buying and shipping gifts through MacKenzie - a tradition of gift giving for both our families and professional colleagues - sadly this year I encountered the rudest, unkind, downright mean telephone reps. I simply called to find out why a salmon order in the blue cooler bag that was expressed/I paid for overnight shipping - never arrived - a second express order again never arrived - almost 14 days later a basket ( not the cooler) arrived - it’ was 80 degrees in LA - salmon was warm- one rep disconnected the line and another refused to reimburse just the shipping - I just gave up- sadly this is not the Mackenzie company it used to be. Welcome to the dumbing down of America.”
“Three soup medley (NE clam chowder, lobster bisque and crab soup) tasted very bad. There were several adults who rated them and all agreed that it was inedible! Tasted like it had gone very bad.”
“Experience with Mackenzie has been predominantly positive. We've ordered a few different items which were delievered well packaged and promptly whenever requested. Personally think the directions on the packages need to be reviewed as cook time is always much greater than on directions.”
“I was very disappointed in the shipping this time of my food. I was also very disappointed in the response when I contacted customer service. I will probably not order again. We ended up throwing out the food that had ice around the bags due to concerns of freezer burn. Since the package arrived with very little dry ice and some not cold.”
“I have purchased the Cranberry Upside Down cake for the past few years for Thanksgiving and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately this year the cake was not the usual quality. It was dry, with very little cranberry topping and the mixture around the cake was not sticking to the cake. It was extremely disappointing serving to my guests and did not have the quality accustomed to by MacKenzie. I am questioning further purchases”
“I ordered brie and raspberry puffs. I was so excited to have them at the Thanksgiving party. They were sour. No one ate an entire one. Some folks took a bite and that was it. I called McKenzie the next day. They were very nice but said they had never had a complaint about these. I filled out the questionnaire. They asked me the same question several times. What did I do with them when they arrived. Each time I told them that my husband put them in the freezer. I haven't heard anything since. Not happy. Will not order again.”
