"Colt is an excellent coach! He is knowledgeable, calm, compassionate and patient. Although I often pause pushing my weight loss wagon, he always gets me back moving forward. He does this through gentleness and consistency. He checks in and encourages that progress is moving forward. I have lost about 10-15 pounds and know it could be more, but it's not due to the lack of Colt trying, it's due to my wagon moving at a snail speed. I like to jump on and off and enjoy life. Will Colt ever get rid of me? Probably not for a while. I love the community of Macros Inc and the journey they let the customer decide on. It's real people helping real people through this so called life. "
"I have been following the Macros, Inc. FB page for a while and finally got a coach last year. In round 1 I did nutrition coaching only and lost 26 pounds in 4 months, then went to Europe for 2 weeks and finished out most of the year just maintaining. In December I started Round 2, to include weight training, and I've lost 7.3 pounds in 2 months. This was not as quick because it was around the holidays, plus I had some health issues, both of which made it harder. At least I didn't put the usual 10 pounds on over the holidays, but it was slow moving the scale. Now I'm starting to kick back in again and find my groove.

Colt Salinas is my current coach and he has been amazing! He provides very detailed information and feedback pertaining to my logs and to any issues I'm having. He's very patient and kind. He pushes gently and always gives me food for thought. When I had my injury flare up, he provided an alternate work-out plan so I wasn't doing nothing.

Macros, Inc. is a supportive community, full of great information and ideas from both the online community and the coaches, and both of my coaches have been great! I recommend Macros, Inc. FB community and the coaches for people looking to manage their health through proper nutrition and movement. "

"In April 2025, I decided to get a coach because I had been stuck in a cycle of yo-yo dieting for years. I already knew how to count calories and track macros, and I was always successful at losing weight for a few months. But when summer rolled around or the Holidays came, I’d try to maintain my progress—and the weight would slowly creep back. I was tired of it. I didn’t understand maintenance, and I couldn’t seem to make it work.
So, before summer 2025, I started working with a coach and started with a deficit. Then I switched to maintenance over the summer. That summer was better than any other, but honestly, I still gained five pounds. It was still a huge eye-opener: maintenance calories aren’t that far from deficit calories! While that was an important lesson, it also made me feel like I’d be on a “diet” forever—constantly relying on self-control and willpower, living with a sense of deprivation.
Five extra pounds wasn’t a big deal, but getting back into a deficit in September was HARD. I felt frustrated and deprived. Normally, I would have given up and eaten whatever I wanted until Christmas, trying to minimize the damage, constantly feeling guilty for not being in a deficit. But this time, my coach held me accountable. I logged everything—even foods I thought were “off-limits” (like pasta, bread, chocolate). And that’s when I had the biggest aha moment of my life: I could fit those “forbidden” foods into my macros and STILL lose weight!
From then on, I kept losing weight until Christmas, but this time I included the foods I truly enjoyed. I realized all my previous diets had been way too restrictive, which made me feel deprived and led to overeating whenever tempting foods were available—restaurants, parties, dinners with friends or family—because I thought I’d never be allowed to eat them again (or not often enough). Now, by incorporating those foods into my daily meals, I no longer feel deprived. I can enjoy treats occasionally without guilt, frustration, or that sense of scarcity. It’s freeing!
So, will I always have a sweet tooth? Yes! Will I keep making my heavenly, absolutely DIVINE homemade fudge at Christmas? Absolutely! But now I know those treats can fit into maintenance, and I’m okay with returning to healthy habits afterward. Or even a short deficit if I overindulge for a short period of time. I can balance it out. Maintenance is for life—and for the first time, at 46, I’m happy with what I eat. I’m not denying myself the foods I love to control my weight. I can manage my weight AND enjoy the foods that satisfy me. I’m finally free from the deprivation mindset and the guilt that came with it. I won’t always be perfect and that’s ok. But I know exactly what to do now. It’s life-changing!"
