Went to view an x5 after a pcp acceptance, not sure whats happend at MB motors , used to have a lovley little showroom off bramhall lane in sheffield but now moved to what i can only describe as a dirty looking warehouse off Meadowhall . Went to reception, receptionist tried 5 times to call one of the sales team no one answered the phone so she stuck me in a clinical reception with the promise she'd get someone. No one came so I decided i'd rather look elsewhere. Just as I was about to get in my car and drive off the saleman Ryan came out and apologised for missing our appointment. I had a quick look at the car and to be honest for FORTY TWO GRAND it was in pretty poor state, sratches everywhere inside and out was told it would be rectified through their process but as I said first impressions count and didn't meet my expections for such a premuim price on a used car Did a quick VIN check to see the options on the x5 from the factory and it was misrepresented in Mike Brewers ad as having the premium Harmon kardon loudspeaker system, as well as a few other none description options which it doesn't only has the basic of basic bmw hifi system. Whilst with Ryan asked to see the q7's in stock and he mentioned there wasn't any on site, but a later call with him revealed there were in fact 8 on site. Off the the Main "Stealers" for an approved used x5 Sadly this was a miss for me, expected more from a premium brand but left with a bit of deflated view on Mike Brewer motors won't be returning as didn't feel like a customer just a number to push through the process. Awaiting my £100 deposit return. UPDATE: I have just changed my review to 1 star for the rude and condescending phone call received from Ryan because I left an honest review of my experience of Mike Brewer Motors here. Instead of a call asking how they could do better it seems it hit a nerve and got him quite upset

Hello, We’ve looked into your valuation and unfortunately your vehicle is of such an age that our valuation tools were unable to find your car and provide an accurate valuation, instead a default valuation was returned. We apologise for the inconvenience and my colleague Dave Harris will be looking into your valuation and he will be in touch. If you wish to speak to him in the meantime you can contact him on 0114 250 6080. Kind regards, Mike Brewer Buys Your Car

The valuation was £150 for a very good condition 04 plate rover with 11 months mot and very low mileage, I think personally they are taking the mick, I would not recommend this site to anyone.

Dear Gary, We are sorry that you weren’t happy with the valuation we gave you online. Our valuation calculator looks at a number of industry standard valuation tools, which ensures that we give our customers fair valuations that are in-line with current market conditions. We are a dealership and although you may get a higher price from a private buyer, we believe that the valuation we gave you is a fair price for that type and age of car. Don’t forget, our site gives an offer price, whether you choose to accept it or not is entirely your choice – we have purchased hundreds of vehicles where people have been delighted with the valuations we have given, with many customers using our services more than once. To leave a poor review based purely on a valuation you are not happy with is somewhat disappointing. Thanks, Mike Brewer Buys Your Car

Mike Brewer Buys your car, unless they decide they don't want it without any justification! Website lets you put in all of the car details etc, then book the appointment, which the Luton Branch rang and confirmed with me. Then around an hour later get a phone call to say they don't want the car, no real explanation, "it's not something they're not looking for" and no real apology. Incredibly poor experience!!

Hello Richie, Thank you for giving us your feedback. Unfortunately, there was an error in our valuation system, which wasn’t picked up in time by our Luton office. It was picked up at Head Office, which is why you received the call after your appointment was confirmed so that you didn’t waste your time coming to the dealership. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and as you can see from our other reviews this isn’t our usual business practice.

Mike Brewer Motors offered an online quotation of near £9200, so we wasted our morning taking it in, only for it to be 'reappraised' due to two stone chips, one small scratch and one small dent that was quoted at £100-150 for repair. End offer = £8300. "Because the computer says so". They do not seem to apply any consideration for fair wear and tear. Don't waste your time.

Hello, Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we have looked into it and we’ve established the cause of the problem. Between running your valuation on our website and making your appointment the valuation calculation was adjusted in our system to be in line with the market conditions. Your appointment was made after this date, so when you came in with your car and it was re-evaluated for the damage the new calculation took into account the earlier pricing reduction as well as the damage. However, we do honour prices for 10 days from the point of the online quote, but unfortunately this was missed by the member of staff looking after you at your appointment. We’re really sorry this has happened and it was an oversight on our part. If you would like to give Dave Harris a call on this number 0114 250 6080 we would be happy to look at reviewing the valuation for you. Kind regards, Mike Brewer Buys Your Car

Im not normally one to write reviews however my experience with Mike Brewer Motors was not as i expected. The staff were very friendly which was great, however, when i received an agreed no quibble online quotation for my car (And that included me being honest about the condition), i was disappointed that some wear and tear stone chips were identified and a so called scuff to an alloy wheel. After an hour and half of waiting around, i got told they they would only offer me £450 less that what i was originally quoted. Obviously i didn't accept this offer but i just wished they could have been more honest from the start. Im disappointed in there no quibble offer online, but obviously its done to entice you in. By the way, i'm sure those reading will probably assume that i was lying about the condition of the car, but just so you know, immediately after, i went to WeBuyAnyCar who found nothing wrong with the condition and offered me £179 more than my original online quote from Mike Brewers. A warning to all, despite the online jargon used by Mike Brewers, they seem to be like all the others.

Dear Danny, We’re sorry that you weren’t satisfied with our valuation, however on inspecting the vehicle we identified some additional damage that you hadn’t included on the original online valuation. Our salesman ran the extra damage through our system, which unfortunately reduced the amount we were able to offer you. We are pleased that you were able to get an improved valuation elsewhere. Thanks, Mike Brewer Buys Your Car

Awful, unprofessional customer service. Verbal quotation only given. Entered my details several times on the website as staff were unable to locate the vehicle and my personal details each time. Received a lower price for the car than expected. Sales manager failed to return my calls or get in touch to arrange / rearrange appointments. I used Mike Brewers by recommendation but will not go back and will not provide any positive feedback to friends and family. Mr Frain.... Sheffield

So much for "We understand that all used vehicles will have some level of wear and tear - the older they get, the more they will have (sadly, just like us!). Don't worry if your vehicle has a few minor chips or scuffs as we will factor in an element of this dependent on the age of the vehicle. We just ask that you tell us about any damage that you would not expect on a vehicle of that age. As a rough guide we would expect you to tell us about any chips, dents or stuffs that are larger than a 20 pence piece and any interior damage such as rips or tears in fabric or leather." An 8 year old car with the biggest scratch on the wing mirror, and you could replace the cover on that for £14, yet the paintwork needed £300 spent on it. Nothing even approaching the size of a 20p. Same old, same old...
