“While it is a good service and is useful for homeowners who don't want to take pets away on holidays, as a home owner who lodged an official complaint, I was not believed despite mountains of evidence and dismissed by Mindahome saying "we have no negative feedback on file on our site" Well of course you don't because it is up to the housesitter to decide what reviews to publish. that is why they run multiple accounts across multiple websites. What would be good is if when a complaint is lodged that mindahome actually called past homeowners of the housesitter and also looked at follow up phone calls of future sits of the sitters to verify for themselves. There is a large number of very trust worthy honest sitters, but it's that one bad apple that is allowed to continue that sours the experience for many owners into the future. I made the same complaint to Aussie Housesitters and the sitter of speak of was banned from their site.”
Fiona, it is very important that we be fair and unbiased to both parties in our decisions and, as we are completely removed from what transpired, after hearing both sides of the issue we did not feel qualified to just dismiss the sitter out of hand. I’m sorry you aren’t happy with the decision we made and I’m glad to see that you had confidence in the Mindahome system to later engage another of our sitters whose service you are happy with.
