Important note: a carrier unlock does not change eSIM hardware or carrier support — it won’t make a phone eSIM-capable if it isn’t already. “I used MobileUnlocks, as their website made it seem as though the system was completely automated.
But in reality, that was far from the case. Neither was it clear that the payment asked for was just to check that the phone could be unlocked. The actual full fee was more than three times more than this.
The terms were laid out in separate emails they sent, but didn't warn about.
I found the process very slow - more than four days. Once again the warnings about this were not clear.
Finally, when the unlock codes were sent, there was no guarantee that they would work, and frankly, the process needed to use them was quite difficult.
I ended up purchasing a refurbished much better phone, which was the same price as trying to get the old phone unlocked.
The other aspect I found a little irksome, is that the site receives so many good pieces of feedback. They try to avoid poor feedback by offering incentives to not do so.
So to summarise; very slow, pretty expensive, and only worthwhile if you are trying to unlock an expensive, relatively new phone.”
