“I've used Modern rugs before and the rug I received was exactly what I wanted and the service was very efficient. Unfortunately my latest purchase was not so successful. The rug that I ordered was nothing like the picture on screen, it looked and felt cheap so I decided to return it. Foolishly I had assumed that the company would operate a returns service (my fault for not doing my research!) when I rang to explain I wanted to return the rug I was disappointed and surprised to be told that it was all down to me to find a courier ( they do supply you with a list of suggested carriers ) and pay for the return. Neither were easy, firstly I had to re -wrap the rug securely, this proved quite some task as the original packaging was no good having been cut to open it and finding strong enough packaging for a large rug is not easy believe me !!! Then I set to, to find a courier...... easy I had thought!!! but not so, it proved to be very frustrating, Having entered in the details a number of times to various carriers only at the end to be told the rug was too big for that particular carrier to handle or the cost was exorbitant. After a very frustrating morning I eventually had everything organised but not before I had paid a rather large sum to have a rug returned that I didn't want...... A very expensive lesson learn't . I decided to go to John Lewis for my new rug where I could see what I was getting and delivery and returns are free. A real pity that there is not a more customer friendly returns policy.”

Customers will be able to arrange collection from any address to be returned to our warehouse and the fee will simply be deducted from the refund or exchange. “Love the rugs, they fit perfectly in my new camper van, and... they don't show the dog hairs!! Service from Modern Rugs was really quick, so 'Happy Bunny!!'”

“The wrong rug was sent to me twice! Then I was told the rug I had ordered was out of stock (even though on the same day it was still for sale on the website for other customers!) so seems as though I was given a rug in the hope I wouldn't notice! I arranged for a pick up and a refund and was told I would receive this within 3 working days of the rug being returned. Two weeks later I still hadn't received my refund. spoke to somebody in customer services who was quite rude and said although she could see it had been picked up they had to locate the actual rug in the warehouse before processing a refund. They fact that they new it had been returned should have meant my refund was processed, as they couldn't locate the item in your own warehouse quite frankly is not my problem. She confirmed I would receive a call back by the next day, when I highlighted this was a Saturday she then corrected herself and said by end of the day Monday. Not surprisingly, I didn't receive a call back. finally after calling again my refund was processed by someone who was helpful.”

“Our initial attempt to buy rugs was a disaster with lots of time wasting and us getting a refund out of the blue. So we did not get what we wanted. However our second attempt which also was a made to measure size went absolutely perfectly. The rugs are absolutely fine. Very soft, and nice to walk on. Delivery time was good and had this been our only attempt to purchase we would have had no cause to criticise. So after a bad start we were successful and happy in the end.”
