I placed an order for an item on November 7, 2024 (hoping to use as a Christmas gift). It took until January 31, 2025 for Montessori Services to inform me that they would be unable to fulfill the order. Yes, it was due to the supplier not having it, but I still feel that this could have been sorted out much sooner.

Dear Anonymous, We sincerely apologize for not meeting your expectations. We do try very hard to give good information about when to expect a backorder, etc. In this case the expected date changed several times. After the manufacturer ran out parts, they simply stopped sending out orders. Now they have let us know that if they offer it again it will be at a much higher cost. Meanwhile, we still don't have stock and have decided to drop it from our line. We are very sorry for any inconvenience. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you. I ordered 14 units of the miniature music boxes on 4-15. When the order arrived it was short two units. I called to notify on 4-19, and was assured they’d be sent. I received one replacement on 4-29, and notified my order was still not complete. It’s been two more weeks, and I’m still waiting….

I have purchased from Montessori Services previously and was pleased with the products, this time, not so much. I ordered stopwatches and a magnifying glass. I only kept the one stopwatch, simply because I needed a gift, but I am not pleased with the quality of it and that is why I returned the second one and the magnifying glass was so small I did not have the heart to give it to my 3-year old granddaughter.

Dear Christine, We are so sorry that you were not pleased with your order. The Stopwatch has been a long time favorite. I've personally given these as gifts and they are always well received. They are sturdy and easy-to-use. Was there something wrong with the ones you received? The Magnifying Glass Necklace is new this year. While we list the size, we will try and do a better job of showing the scale of it in the future. Meanwhile, your satisfaction is always guaranteed. The miniature items are just okay... My package was actually missing items from the list but also the entire "grab bag" of items is extremely overpriced than sourcing your own. Definitely feel like money went down the drain.

I have been working with children for many years and have used these products for a long time. However I recently bought one of their “signature “ mats and the quality has decreased way too much! No longer what they were. Won’t be buying anymore and won’t recommend to anyone. I am debating whether or not to actually return the mat. The two other containers seemed to be ok. Again I am sorry and sad to not be able to recommend or rely on these brand/ products.

We did expect to receive our next shipment by now but unfortunately it has been delayed in customs. We hope to be receiving it soon and we with fill your backorder as soon as we can. I really do think the products are good quality, but I have been frustrated about the lack of communication about when to expect my shipment. I understand that COVID has impacted supply lines, but if they were upfront about what was in stock and when it would be back in stock, I would have appreciated it! Instead, I have communicated several times over phone and email about when to expect my shipment(s) and they have not been able to provide a clear answer at best, and have lied at worst...

Dear Lara, We apologize for any longer than normal delays you may have experienced in receiving your items. Most of the manufacturers we work with have had difficulty obtaining raw materials to make their goods. There have also been issues with finding labor for manufacturing and distribution. These issues, paired with longer than normal transit times, are understandably frustrating. While we do try to provide as accurate as possible information, the reality is that there are a lot of factors (many of which are out of our control) that may alter the time frame. We would never knowing lie and I'm truly sorry if you have felt we've been deceptive. The dates we give are from the manufacturers and this year they have not been very reliable. We update and revise due dates as soon as we receive information. This information can always be found on our website (under each item). We do also try and notify customers when there is an additional delay. I checked your order history and both of the orders that you placed this year were shipped complete with no backorders. If you have other outstanding orders or backorders (under a different account, perhaps) I would be more than happy to assist you. Meanwhile, thank you for your patience.
