“I traded in a lens toward the purchase of another Nikkor 80-200mm AF-D two step. MPB set up the shipping details for sending my lens to them, so all I had to do was box up my lens, print and label the box with the label they emailed to me, then drop it off at a FedEx site. They set aside the lens I was purchasing until they could evaluate the one I was trading in.
Factoring in weekends, shipping time and time for them to evaluate my trade-in, it took about 10-14 days for the whole transaction. The 80-200mm lens was in excellent physical condition. AF doesn't work, but that was known and part of the reason I picked it - AF on the particular line of Nikkor lenses doesn't work with my mirrorless cameras. Manual focus delivers tack sharp images. The price reduction just for the AF not working was too good to pass up, since I can't use it anyway. If that lens was sold as new, it would cost well over $1000, but I got it for less than $150.”
“I recently purchased a used Nikon D500, and unfortunately, I was disappointed with the cosmetic condition upon arrival. The camera appears to have seen extremely heavy use — the exterior wear is far beyond what I expected, with noticeable scuffs, marks, and overall signs of rough handling. While I fully understand that “used” equipment will show some wear, this felt excessive and not reflective of the standard I anticipated.
That said, I want to acknowledge that the camera is functioning well mechanically and performs as it should. From an operational standpoint, I have no complaints.
My disappointment largely stems from the contrast with my recent lens purchases, which arrived in excellent condition and exceeded expectations. Given how pleased I’ve been with the lenses, I was expecting a similar level of quality and grading accuracy with the camera body.
I hope future listings can provide clearer descriptions or more detailed images to better set expectations for buyers.”
“I traded a full nikon kit for a Leica M11 monochrome. The process was very smooth. The initial quote i got was accurate and i wasn’t lowballed after sending in my gear. In the beginning, I put the wrong lens and camera on my quote but my rep was able to get the order modified while i was in the process of waiting on my inspection which was a big deal so i didn’t lose out on the rare monochrome camera that i was wanting. After the inspection I had my new camera the next day. Zero time wasted. I’m so happy with the entire transaction and the quality of the items were exactly as listed.”
“Order process was fine. Delivery is a nightmare. It took them about 2 weeks from East Coast to West Coast and three days longer than their estimated longest time. I needed the lens before taking off for a 5 week absence so I trusted their "longest" estimate. No bad weather either! Now I need to see what to do....
Support was also almost non existent. No working on weekends and just got only a basic reply sort of "how can I help you" despite describing the issue in detail.
So NO GO if you want on time delivery or rely on fast delivery!”
