Hi Earl, Our Vietnam war era dogtag replicas are made according to the same standards used in the 1950s using an indented 'deboss' font which is indeed harder to read than the modern emboss font, but is true to the era. It should be noted that deboss tags were never designed to be read by people, rather their purpose is for transcribing the dogtag information to carbon copy medical paperwork (like an old mechanical credit card machine). Nevertheless it is possible to make them easier to read by rubbing in black shoe polish (a service which we offer), as shown here: https://www.mydogtag.com/blog/debossed-darkened-letter-dog-tags Alternatively, when placing an order we suggest choosing the modern emboss font (even when making WW2, Korea, and Vietnam era tags), if legibility is critical for you.

“It was really easy to create the dog tags and the preview looked exactly like what I got. Super great pricing and you can tell that they are not doing this to cheat you out of money because they show videos of how to put the tags together or darken the text so you don’t have to pay for them to do it. My order was shipped less than 48 hours after I made it. Overall, great quality, great pricing, fast service, and I would definitely recommend.”

“FINALLY WHEN I DIVORCED MY EX WIFE SHE KEPT SOME OF MY STUFF DEPLOYMENT T-SHIRTS DOG TAGS ETC. MY DOG TAGS ARE LONG GONE.
